My knickers are in a twist because the bolded is a given, just as it is when people are racist cnuts online.

But the rest of the tweet spends time making out Ole should avoid this abuse (rather than everyone should because everyone is doing their best) because he's somehow sacrificed more than Moyes or LvG, or that he someone wants the club to succeed more than they did.
Can’t comment on how much he’s sacrificed but he definitely cares more about the club than Mourinho and Van Gaal. Isn’t that obvious?

Fans should expect Ole to treat the fans and club differently than LVG and Jose did, but he isn't, he's clinging on for his payoff like he's on the fecking breadline.

You would be mental in this day and age to resign. That's hardly a stick to beat him with.

Sorry but that's the cart leading the horse: the club are giving the media all the ammo they need to fire round after round at us. They'd not be doing their job to fail to cease on these opportunities. We've made ourselves an easy, running target that any medium that can, is profiteering off of, and so they should.

Run like a proper club, and most of this dies down, plus the power command, the media go back under the thumb.
That is true, some of the headlines are beyond embarrassing. We have indeed been exceptionally bad at controlling the media narrative.

A lot of it could have easily been avoided by sacking Ole after Liverpool - which is what should have happened- that is really when the media coverage just exploded.

Well no, it's not that simplistic is it?

Are we really arguing if Ole loves Utd or not ffs?

He's a multi millionaire I'm sure. If he loves United then he would consider it surely? If I looked in my bank and saw tens of millions, I'd consider walking away from £7m or whatever it is.

Like Rio said, leave now with your head held high. You've brought us closer but it's unravelling. Let somebody with fresh ideas come in and progress it.

I'm in a similar boat, tbh. I've not felt these kind of emotions since Jose was here actively sabotaging the club. I read around where people say they are numb or indifferent, but for me, every time I think about the situation as a whole, I get wound up. Constantly writing off seasons as we do, at a time when we genuinely have a squad that should be challenging for everything, is maddening.
This feels worse to me than even Jose's last days. Firstly (and I know not everyone will agree) I could at least see some of the reasons behind Jose's meltdown and the subsequent loss of form on the pitch. He wanted rid of Martial and Pogba (both are causing issues to this day), and he wasn't backed in the summer transfer window just months after being given a new contract. Whilst I might not have agreed with his methods of expressing his frustration I understood his annoyance at the board...and that's something that I think pretty much every fan can understand given what's going on at the moment. Ultimately though with Jose there was at least the feeling that he would be sacked when things got too bad...and he was. What's worse about the current situation is that the club appear to feel that it is acceptable, and if we get a few half decent results in the next few games then they won't make a change until at least the end of the season. It's that feeling of impotent rage that is so hard at the moment - the fact that seemingly everyone apart from the board can see the damage being done.

No. He obviously believes he can turn things round. We’re ‘only’ 9 points off the top with over two thirds of the season left to play. In my opinion he can’t but that’s not the point.
I may believe that one day I will get an Oscar for acting because I always do good in local plays. Does that make my belief plausible?

I loved Ole as a player but he is a shit manager. As Harry Truman said, 'If you cant stand the heat, get out of the kitchen'.
He should leave if he really loves the club, but money talks.
I would really like someone to explain to me what putting the club before himself actually means, and how Ole has done this.

I keep seeing ole being referred to as a legend and it got me thinking. Is he really a legend? He scored an important goal in a final but take that away he was in essence a squad player, super sub if you like but to be called a club legend? Cantona,Robson,Best,Charlton in my opinion are legends. And it's pretty safe to say Ole doesn't hold a candle to those 4 players.

Probably right. In his head he'll still believe he can turn it around with the players he has. It is true that those above him are the ones culpable for this now.

Ole absolutely believes he's capable of turning this around, to say he should walk if he loves the club is a bit silly really.

These guys are hardwired to believe in their own abilities, especially former players like Ole, to back themselves is all they know.

Pretending he doesn't care because the board are too dithering and inept to identify a replacement and handle this properly is ridiculous. He will look back at last season, finishing second, look at the positive runs of form and think he's able to get back to that, regardless of what peoples interpretation of those things are, he will believe he can do it again, the moment he doesn't he shouldn't just leave United he should retire because all managers need to believe in themselves ffs.

Then thing is, he could negotiate a settlement anyway - so he wouldn't be walking away with nothing. We're still talking about a multi-million pound golden handshake even if he was to resign.

I think that’s it. He’s been treated differently than them for his entire tenure here…

Now fans start realising that he’s not behaving any differently at all.

If anything, at this point his era is becoming more toxic than the previous two managers at the club - and looks as though it might well leave the club in even more of a mess.

Obviously you’ll have some people still gibbering pointless rubbish about how he ‘cares more about the club’ etc, but at this point it’s blatantly obvious that such talk is either deluded, emotional nonsense or simply subtle wumming.

Ole has presided over Utd becoming a complete fecking joke. Won no trophies and has no style of football after 3 years of having half a fecking billion pounds invested in him.

He’s been paid more than Jurgen Klopp over the past 3 years ffs. If he had any tangible care for the club he should step down at this point, during this international break.

Outside of the manager's role, yes.

As manager, no, he cares exactly the same, maybe even less than Mourinho about the club being successful during their reigns. As I say, it's nothing tweet, "don't be cnuts to people, critique their abilities, not the person. Show respect" the tweet could read, but that'd tell us nothing either, we should all already know that.
For me it's pointless, and the second half of the tweet got my knickers in a small twist because it's an attempt to make out Ole is some special case who wants it more than other managers, or who cares about winning more than other managers because it's "his club", or that despite earning more in 3 years here than he would in around 35 in Molde, he's someone who has put the club before everything else.

I mean, what does the bolded even mean here? I'd argue Gattuso put his club before everything else, before his own ego, before his own pockets etc etc. I don't expect Ole to quit, absolutely not, but what has he done differently to LVG and Moyes to show he has put the club before everything else?

It does take a lot of self awareness and reflection to realise when something is beyond your capabilities. Gattuso managed it though.
I think the thing that would have alarm bells ringing for me is that Rio thinks he should go, as does Scholes, potentially Keane and I think Neville knows it but is arguing that the club simply won't sack him. None of his mates and ex pro's have belief in him anymore. Rio said he never did. These are opinions that he should be taking on board.

I've pointed this out multiple times, whenever I was previously called an Ole fan boy or when people claimed that his 'legend status' blinds people's opinion on him as a manager. I've said loads of times, he's Ole, not fecking Cantona or Charlton.

Everybody likes Ole the player, that goal made him a mini legend, but he's never been classed among the general legend-status greats here. It's been over played by those who have wanted him gone for a long time, understandable to a point when your frustrated and want a manager gone.

His links to the club and his likeable character make it easy to back him but until this season he made slow and steady progress in the league table and the squad itself, that's why many stayed behind him until now. Not because he scored a goal in 99'

I don't want him to be sacked. He should stay until he breaks his contract by not achieving his targets. I want him to resign but he is too stupid or greedy to do that. He scored a goal and he is in the history books for that. As a man I think he is a bit of a tool.

A hell of a lot less than Ole’s belief so it’s a stupid point to make.
Equally stupid to suggest that a manager will suddenly come good when he has been bang average to poor in more than 3 years with complete backing financially. An honest individual would be a best judge of his own abilities in a particular role, but we are way past that now.

Its the state of next season that I am worried about. Fair enough if they want to waste this season doing nothing at all then fine but the fact that players are already turning and questioning means this will without a doubt get worse.

Players I can see leaving are Donny, Pogba, Telles, Bailly, Lingard, Matic and Martial. I can also see Ronaldo leaving if we dont get CL. All of a sudden they are going to be having to spend hundreds of millions again to get new players in. Its such a mad situation that they could just pay up 20m to sack the Boys but they are happy for the club to spiral out of control (and it is definitely going to happen).

It's delusional thinking on Ole's part but I can't really argue with any of this, and on top of that this is his ultimate dream job. People who entertain the idea of him resigning if he loves the club too much are unrealistic. The board needs to sack him to get rid of him, which they should have done after Liverpool.

Exactly this. Don't try then claim you love the club want to see it do well and the like.

If you want to be treated differently to other managers because apparently you love the club, you have to treat fans and the club differently to those managers too.

You can't have the best of both worlds. For me, he does not care about the club, if he did, he would have walked after those performances, given its been 3 years. Secondly, any person who is in football, loves football knows how it works, to be a puppet for these owners shows he doesn't care about the club as much as people would like to think.

He just wants his pay cheque.

I don't buy that. The fans are everything to any football club. Ole goes to Molde and they become his priority. We still turn up to the ground every week to support United. These guys got paid well to play for us. Of course they love the club but more than the fans? I don't think so myself.

Do you think Ole was hurting as much as any of us the last 8 years? Or was he more occupied with his role in Norway?

To be honest I don’t really care that much. When we meet any team that has made it into the last 16 with Ole in charge it will end in tears anyway. The way they play Ajax or Bayern would put 10 past us over two legs.
That’s not the point, we failed to get out of the group last season, it was embarrassing then. We have a great team and should want to go as far as possible. If we can learn to sit in and counter again, which is the only tactic Ole has had success with, we could make the quarters or semis as mad as that sounds.

I wish people would stop using this as a stick to beat him. It's unreasonable to expect anyone to walk away from the kind of payoff Ole is due in the event of his sacking. You wouldn't do it and neither would any other sane person.

Ole may not be the right guy moving forward, but I have absolutely no doubt that he put everything he had into making this work. Not like Jose, who was actively sabotaging the club so he could pick up the payoff money.

If you're looking for someone to blame, look no further than the board and their inability to act when necessary. They are responsible for hiring Ole, so it's on them to fire him.

Ole is just doing his job to the best of his ability. The board cannot say the same.
Spot on. Ole didn't hand himself that three year extension and reports say Ole still believes he can turn it around so he's not going to quit. It's up to the club to sack him.

He's got a legally binding contract. In no shape or form should a man who is sticking to his contact be criticised because the Diddums internet fans can't handle it anymore.

He's doing nothing wrong honouring his end of the deal and it's not like he's losing on purpose.

The club have to get rid of him. People who expect him to just walk away are the most delusional bunch I have ever seen. It ain't happening and nor should it.

The club are either scared the fans might get angry at them again once the safety barrier (Ole) is gone or they simply have nobody lined up. It could be either.

Or both.
They are so out of touch that they probably think it will be hugely unpopular to sack Solskjaer as 99% of the fanbase are right behind him....
