really sad for ole but when you dont give him till the end of the season just sack him after the city game and give the next a small rest chance for the league

Good for us, good for him. I just hope Carrick goes too, or at least shift him away from caching staff at the end of the season. A complete rehaul is what we need. And fresh ideas, no more people from inside the club over actual competences.

No worries, Carrick wont win a lot anyway. He is as clueless as Ole, with less charisma.

At least he smiled. Such an arrogant and unpleasant guy.

He leaves us on a mich better posution than what he got 3 years ago, even if the recebt results dont show it. He had the best results post SAF and gave us some magical moments. Too bad he couldnt do more, forever a legend.

Interim manager till the end of the season... not happy about that. But then can only assume that's because Zidane said no

Its crazy how much they respect him. He must be a fantastic guy. They've made it sound as if he walked

Good luck Ole. Sorry but it is necessary to move on for the sake of the club.

Good super sub and good caretaker manager.

But please, don't ever manage us again. Good luck to your career, Ole.

Carrick is only an acceptable interim for one game. He has 0 credentials. Literally every manager that's ever managed a first division club anywhere in Europe has more credentials than Carrick.

Knowing this board, there's a good chance they'll keep Carrick on as interim if he goes on a run.
Why would that be a bad thing?

If the players play for him and he gets results then keep him until Ten Hag arrives in the summer.

Thanks for everything, Ole, mate. You are one of us and there’s no denying you did everything in your power to be successful here. You fell short but there’s no shame in that. You did a lot of truly great work, in many areas, and that should never be forgotten.

Good luck Ole.

Carrick should have been relieved of his duties as well.

We really didn't plan at all.

Well there it is. It was obvious after last night and should have been done weeks back to spare him the humiliation and abuse he got. I'm sad it didn't work out as what a story it would have been. I'm sure I'll be able to look back on the good stuff he did over the last few years in time.

My thoughts exactly.

All the best for the future Ole.

You know you are an absolutely appalling manager when the rest of the league see this news and reply ‘f*ck right off’ - almost unheard of.

Its the right decision he absolutely had to go but I still feel sad I really wanted him to be a success.

According the Sky Sports News we are looking for an interim manager till the end of the season so I guess they have a target in mind.
It's in the club statement that we're looking for an interim manager.

No pleasure in seeing him fail, but relief that it is now over. There was still plenty of good under him, particularly when he first came in, and then the period after we signed Bruno. We played some pretty great football during that time. But it didn't look likely that we'd challenge again under him.

The interim options and the names being banded around for the permanent position don't really inspire me though. I don't think this gets better in a hurry, but I hope I'm wrong.

Mountains are there to be climbed. Thanks for the memories. Gutted it didn't work out, it was never going to. Let's make sure we make the right appointment now.

Terrible decision of looking to appoint only an interim to the end of the season.

We needed a permanent manager now who would decide on the summer in-comings (and also convince Ronaldo and Pogba to stay). This is basically throwing this season away + damaging the 22/23 one.

What a stupid club.

Carrick should be gone as well, infact he should have gone with Jose.

Cant help but feel the nightmare is just beginning it’s going to be a complete mess this.

Hopefully that statement means they have learned something and are determined to get the right man in the summer. Sorry it didn't end well, but this had to happen. Ole ran his course and we need to move on. He is still a hero for 1999.
