Prefer a total restart with Ten Haag and his coaching staff, but if it's gonna be the Ed Woodward/Arnold shite show I think Poch is the most suitable.

Can we please stop the wait until summer call?
We don't have the luxury of writing off the season in November. What is wrong with you lot?

Prefacing this with: I'd want Ten Hag over poch.

Hypothetical:
Ten Hag at the end of the season but maybe means we keep Carrick as interim for the rest of the season.
Or
Poch now
We’d only keep Carrick as interim if he performs brilliantly. The plan is to get someone else to fill the void until the summer.

I’d prefer not to make a rushed decision just because Poch seems desperate to come. If Ten Hag wants to join in the summer (and it’s looking like he does) we should be prepared to wait for him if he is our top target. Otherwise we rush into yet another 3-4 year mistake.

The season was already written off as soon as Ole wasn't sacked after the Europa League final.

We shouldn't bring in Pochettino purely to salvage the season(even if that's a plus).

If the club thinks Pochettino is the best manager, then by all means bring him in now if possible. But don't bring him in purely to salvage the season.

Making the semi-finals with Ajax while dominating Real Madrid and Juventus and being 1 kick away from the CL final isn't a decent run.

It's not like they fluked it there.

Anyone is a risk. Nothing is guaranteed.
Devils advocate.

But if it wasn't a fluke, why have they not made it out of Champions League groups that Valencia and Atalanta qualified from in the last two years and why couldn't they beat Getafe or Roma in the Europa League in those seasons?

All things considered I'm on the Poch train. I think Ten Hag is a brilliant manager, but I'm not convinced our squad is well suited to his style of football, and I can't face the thought of another 3 year cultural/stylistic reboot.

Whoever comes in needs to have a clear plan for utilising Ronaldo (assuming he's still here). It doesn't have an easy answer.

Weirdly I think Poch might prefer our structure too as it gives him more power, whereas I could imagine it might be a bit of a concern for Ten Hag.

A bit surprised the brilliant and innovative Marcelo Gallardo at River Plate, whose contract ends in December, isn’t coming up more in these conversations…

Well, they're topping the group now and have been dominant all season with a worse team of individuals compared to 2018-2019. Doesn't that prove it's not a fluke?

I didn't closely follow them in those seasons specifically, so someone who followed them more closely would likely better explain the reasoning for the poorer results.

That said, he did lose some key players in both seasons and had to reshape the squad.

If Poch is available now then bring him in.

Sorry, none of that makes any sense at all.

Well then no point in having Poch or EVT as manager?
Not with the current squad no. If we want to appoint a manager like that then we would have to get rid of Ronaldo.

Makes no sense employing a manager who wants to set up his team to play a certain way, then basically saying you can’t play that way because it wouldn’t fit in with our highest profile and highest paid player who can’t be dropped.

That is a valid concern but praying City don't take him which would be an absolute nightmare

Oh stop it. If you cannot fit the worlds highest goalscorer in your side then dont come to OT. What would you do with Haaland or any other of the non pressing top scorers in the game.
No one is thinking straight.

I don't think that will happen. I think Pep will see out his contract at least and I doubt Ten Hag will be hanging around for a City job he may or may not get.

How can you be so sure about someone you haven't followed closely?

He's level with on points with PSV, potentially behind Feyenoord if they win their game in hand. Can't help thing people are getting carried away about him.

Pochettino is only at 5% of the poll. That's miserable. Looks awful likely now though. The owners just want someone to keep the gravy train flowing. I'm not sure Poch is even capable of that, let alone winning any trophies.
It seems he’s most people’s second choice

Just like how he speaks about his style of football with such a passion, however fear he would want too much change for our board's liking

Don't hire a permanent manager just because they're available now if you think there's a better manager available in the summer.

Does it make sense now?
No, it makes zero sense. Contracts, deadwood ,european football, transfers.
All handled by ed and an interim and then think about how attractive that will be to a new manager and the money and time it will take to sort another mess out.
You get your target and you get him now. It doesn't matter who he manages at this time.

I don’t think the difference in quality between Poch and Ten Hag, if there is any at all, warrants waiting till summer.

It's gonna be Ten Hag or Poch and I have always said I have a gut feeling it will be Poch. This board just cannot let their obsession of him go.

They will hire Poch because they won’t want to potentially miss out on CL football next season. Hiring Poch now at least gives us a chance.
