Will Ole get another PL job after this?

Will Ole get another PL managers job at some stage?

How do you follow managing Man United - impossible! He should retire and enjoy his £7.5 million pay off.

He'll get another PL job eventually. He's not the joke/meme everyone said he would be and he genuinely did some good to great things here.

My guess is he goes to Germany, does well at a club like Wolfsburg, and then takes the next step from there which might eventually take him back to the PL.

Some stage could mean 20 years later also.

He's not getting it in the next 5 years atleast unless he reinvents and proves himself in another league.
It does mean a lot of time

but then there are people here who think he’s the worst in the premier league ever and he will never get another job

as I’ve said before I think he could, IF he wants it. Im not sure that he would after watching that leaving torture scene. He’s a broken man

IMO there’s zero chance and reason Ole scores a job in Bundesliga where there’s so many young and prospering managers, they really don’t fancy managers without tactical pedigree.

I ham sure that no top 4 club in any of the top 5 European leagues would consider Solskjaer. I would be very surprised if any top 10 team in any of those leagues approcached him. Maybe we will see him in PL later on if he goes to train some fairly small team and lead them to glory. Otherwise, he will forever have his abysmal record for a top club manager.

He's damaged goods now so he'll likely be out of the management picture for quite awhile. I also imagine on a personal level, he will want to take a break.

Prem job? No, not before he's managed at a lower level again and builds up some credit in the bank. I can see him possibly ending up at a EL level team eventually, and if he does well there, who knows. I feel he has far too many limitations to ever manage at a good level again, though.

Sorry but just can’t see him managing in England again...

if I was him I would enjoy 6 months out of the game recharge the batteries and try and repair his reputation with a job in Norway.

He’d be the perfect appointment for Salford FC, great marketing. Will increase their name/brand awareness across Europe. And Gary Neville won’t hesitate to sack him with 2 months when it goes wrong on the pitch.

I would be so happy for him if he gets the Norway job. He won't be coming back to the Prem anytime soon but he still has time to hone his skills as a manager and come back one day.

In keeping with my usual middle of the road views - he may do, he may not. Time will tell.

He's not done enough to make it a certainty, and he'll have to perform incredibly well elsewhere before I see any of the 'biggest' PL / European clubs being remotely interested.

But he's an acceptable enough manager that he should be on the managerial merry-go-round at some level - probably, at first, in a top flight in a foreign league. And if he can achieve some success elsewhere then I wouldn't be overly shocked to see him getting a top championship / bottom half PL job at some point in the future.

Absolutely no chance. He got Cardiff relegated with really bad playstyle.

He had United with the most stacked squad we've had in years down near 10th whilst never really showing he's good enough to set the team up with a style ie: coaching.

He won't get a job in the PL. I think we had probably the worst coach in the league managing the biggest club in the league. What could go wrong

I honestly think he's not getting a PL job ever again. I expect him to go manage a lesser team somewhere and still struggle and then maybe go into punditry in a few years.

To be fair, during United’s spell he did not show neither the ability, nor the will to learn. Tactically, he is the same manager that took us three years ago. He also does not coach yet. So, in what should have served as a massive learning experience, he learned nothing and is the same guy who came here, 3 years ago. Just a bit broken.

I mean, just a few weeks ago he still reiterated that the football is about e passion, winning the fifty fifties and who wants it more. He said last week that against Watford we have to come like a wounded animal. Cliche after cliche, with no indication that he was doing any learning in the first place.

That is why I don’t buy that he did his best. He did not. Doing your best is going outside of your comfort zone, studying what you are doing, learning in the job. He did neither of that, he didn’t even try (for example, taking some experienced coach, doing some coaching, trying different things), instead hoping that Bruno scores another penalty-kick or this season Ronaldo scores another goal from nothing to save his arse yet another time.

Spot on. The day he was sacked was a proper celebration event, just like it was for Mou, LvG and Moyes. I am sure that our rivals were sad though.

Any PL job? Quite possibly, I can easily see him being involved at United in some form.

A PL manager/head coach job? I doubt he'd want one, but given how good he was at getting us to play as the underdog on the counter, I imagine he could do a decent job at a team for whom draws aren't a bad result.

I think he will sooner or later. He finished 3rd and then 2nd with a United team that hadn’t done that consecutively in 8 years. Even Moyes, who looked woefully out of his depth and took the defending champions to 7th, was given a lifeline at Sunderland. Granted he did have his Everton spell backing him up, but I think the point remains that coaching Man United means you’re attractive to someone.

Could see him having a year out and seeing what offers come in. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him turn up at West Brom or something before long.

I'm sure his achievements (and he does have some, despite what some on here may think) will be enough to convince a chairman to give Solskjaer another chance somewhere down the line. If (for example) Rafa Benitez was sacked at Everton tomorrow, you'd think there would at LEAST be a conversation with Ole. And he's proven himself as a squad builder if nothing else - Newcastle United with their unlimited money could offer him a shot at doing just that, assembling -their- squads of the future. Maybe he's not an elite level manager, but he's amiable to work with and he can build you a team.

Look at Moyes. Ole may have to go out to come back in though. Ole's level is not top six. Ole's level is Leicester, Brighton, Southampton, Palace.

For a PL job he would have to have an unquestionable success somewhere else first. As of now he is not getting it. Moyes is not even remotely comparable in terms of CV, he had long-term (arbeitet trophyless) success in PL.

Di Matteo was successful in Championship and won CL with Chelsea. He struggled for jobs after they sacked him only managing Villa in Championship and dysfunctional Schalke before being out of the job for 5 years. Lampard had some success in Championship, is a much bigger name in footballing world, and is not getting PL jobs. Ole failed at lower PL/Championship level.

Of course even at top 5 leagues there are plenty of Clubs and some of them might take a punt. But I think that outside footballing world (I mean outside of United fans) view him as the guy who got United job being not even remotely qualified, won nothing, spent a lot and totally crashed in the end. He never ever worked with having limited resources (at Cardiff and Molde he spent a lot relative to their stature). He would be viewed as a huge risk for anyone - and clubs with resources that could afford the risk and high spending would usually have better options.

Moyes got one after that horror show so I don't know why Ole can't manage the likes of West Ham, Norwich or Crystal Palace

Of course, wait till there are a few more sackings below in the table. They'd be in for him. Not sure he'd take it though.
Anyone who thinks Ole gets another premier league job is deluded. Another great article in Guardian today, he was the most glaringly unqualifiied manager in the history of MUFC and noone else will touch him. He became a joke for other fans and noone wants to be associated with that. He did OK with one of the most expensive squads in the world, but nothing more than that.

After a lengthy, very well deserved sabbatical from the game, I think he'll return to United and join the transfer committee. That's where he should have been from the start.

Agreed. Will take some time but the carousel nature of the PL ensures he'll have a chance of being manager somewhere down the line.
