Point is, Ole should have been sacked going into the international break, so that the club would have had two weeks without games to sort this out. Now they have to do it in the middle of a full week of games and create a saga.
Having to wait a week or so does not amount to a saga :p

Besides, the unbeaten (unbeatable?) Carrick has both hands on the wheel. He's keeping the seat warm and toasty for the messiah's arrival, then it's on to CL glory from there. Good times ahead

There are clubs that are able to announce the sacking of the old and the signing of the new manager on the same day, with the new one starting work on the next day.

How would that work with UK immigration laws and covid testing for foreigners entering the country?

Just trying to find excuses to bash the club now.

Other clubs do things differently and Visa's are different for each and every individual on the planet. Different reasons for different people dictate why things may take quicker or slower depending on a persons individual situation.

Plus other clubs may make the transition weeks in advance and then "sack" and hire on the same day. Plus if they are already in the country foreign or British wouldn't need a VISA or have to undergo quarantine. As in the sacking has already begun and search for a new manager has already taken place behind the scenes.

Just relax and be patient like everyone else, find some other reason to batter the club.

Just to note too. Prior to this week the Omicron variant wasn't as prevalent so he wouldn't need a PCR test or possible quarantine. So it would have been quicker. Just to cause a bit more annoyance in you ;)

By preparing the deal behind closed doors. As already discussed the timing was bad. Could have been done during Ole's holiday "thanks mate, just stay there, there is a new boss here" (ok that would be a bit classless, but you get my point). The players qould come back from their holiday to meet the new manager and could get to work.

Sure there are. So what?
Now there is a lingering uncertainty around the first team. Carrick is managing that well, but it surely does not help the team.

There's no uncertainty. New manager is coming, its just a question when.

Having a good source literally makes him more credible than the majority of journalists, that's the point.

9/10 of all them all throw out rumours and stories. The simple fact is though he got this one spot on while nobody else did, and you cannot deny that.
9/10 of them get 1 story right every so often. Duncan Castles did that just now. That doesn't mean he's not a BS journalist.
There's no getting lucky with a report like that, he got fed info quite clearly. You can believe whatever you like but that has pushed him up a notch.
Of course it does  you can't ignore something he got before anybody else ( and got it spot on ) just because he's said things in the past that hasn't happened.
I'm not denying he doesn't have sources. I'm saying a lot of his sources are questionable, which is representative of his success rate as a journalist when it comes to our news.
Football changes a lot and there's lots of different information available. Would you call Romano reliable? He spouts just as much nonsense as anybody.
His hit rate is far better than Castles. Even on well scraped tier rankings on say reddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/wiki/transfer-reliability-guide/ you will see Romano as 2 and Castles as tier 5. Just an aggregator and nothing else.

How do we know it wasn't actually just Solskjær?
The earpiece suggests he's chatting away with someone. I mean, he might be chewing gum or sucking on a gobstopper or a starburst or something. Maybe. But he's more likely talking to Ole about the game and stuff. Fletch is known to be a chatter according to reports.

Just my opinion.

Can’t Rangnick just do some sightseeing whilst he awaits his visa?

I’ve heard Carrington is quite popular with tourists.

That explains it then. Even so, I can't think of an example before where a foreign manager has to wait so long. I might be wrong of course having not paid as much attention since it isn't us involved.
Welcome to Brexit. There is a weighting system in place regarding the League they worked in and the status of the National Team. Also as he is an EU Citizen who has not worked recently in the UK he has to go through the whole visa process. Add in Covid-19 restrictions and it could be next week before he is in place.

Yeah if he's in the country surely he should be able to do what he wants, even if its not official 'work'.

Surely there is nothing stopping him turning up at Carrington and talking to the players. You are free to chat with anyone you want, you don't need a visa.

Sky saying that he could be in the dugout for Thursday still, just all depends on how long it takes for the visa to come through, has skipped past the new covid rules that came in by already being here, so the club did that right at least..

It should be sorted soon enough no? A fast track visa is 5 days.

Out of curiosity i checked what the tier 1 criteria was and it actually calls out that you can't work as a sports coach under it as the prominent bit of information

Ragnick will have some input for Thursdays game I think. If he is in England as reports suggest then he is watching training I'd say, maybe not at Carrington but someway he is watching training and in the coaches ear.

Officially he cant take charge of United but since he is already in UK, what is stopping him to visit training ground?

I thought some experts on here were saying he cannot enter the country without a working visa as a visitor but apparently he can.

Go figure, people talk a lot of nonsense when you say things can get done quicker and we are not efficient.

It's only 2 games but it's now so hard to go from all of this excitement off the pitch to watching Ole's staff setting us up for another game.

Cant wait to watch an organised United but also to see United fans no longer having to pretend 'patterns of play' is a myth invented to discredit every manager.

Just feels like we're stuck in this stupid limbo because the club didn't have the foresight to do all this during the break, instead they gave everyone a weeks holiday, a decision that looks more baffling by the day

If Ronaldo starts on the bench again, that'll be a direct call from Rangnick. Even if he isn't officially the manager until after Thursday, it'd be naive to think he isn't going to be inputting a opinion into our approach against Arsenal.

Carrick is about to become his subordinate in a couple of days, so he won't want to upset the new boss. I think there's a strong likelihood that the big picture decisions will be deferred to RR.

It's because we're run by businessmen and in the corporate world you go into hiding when you're getting bad press and wait for everything to blow over. That doesn't work in football though.

Yeah the majority of us said at the time that during the last international break was the ideal point to make the managerial change

Least now the club has officially announced it Carrick can actually reference him, certain he will have a proper input into the team for Arsenal.

Seemed to be Ole's decision.

Ffs.

Hope it’s not a complete negative defensive setup that makes Arsenal look like fecking prime Barca.
Like every other team we have faced at OT. Which team hasn't looked like prime Barca?

I mean we even made Everton look like that, look at the state of their team.

I really hope Carrick shows some bottle, we can't always set up 7 defensive players.

RR will have a far bigger hand in Thursdays selections / directives you would think. It's no huge deal, a tad frustrating admittedly.

If he's in the country and waiting on a work permit, then cant he just attend training and start doing this thing behind the scenes?

Very bloody frustrating and getting like the Varane situation in the summer, the way it's going he won't be in official charge until Young Boys next week wherever that's going to be played.
