Not 100% his fault as I'm sure it's more on the owners, but it's criminal for them that they didn't sign any attackers in the summer. They have no depth there, Manes been shite since being overplayed and Firminos always injured. If they brought in two attackers they genuinely could've challenged, but they play the same front 3 always and it'll never last over a full season.
Buying 2 attackers to sit on the bench isn’t easy. That’s the issue Klopp has.

How do City manage to spend millions on the likes of Mahrez and Grealish then rotate them in and out? Sterling was 50 million and has been in and out. Bernardo Silva was out of the side over the last couple of years and is now back and playing some of his best football. Is it just money that keeps them quiet?

City players seem to be happy to rotate for the team. Mane and Salah seem to play for individual honours as much as for the team. You sometimes see that when they are playing and sulk when they are taken off. Just can’t see the rotation working for those two and that’s the issue.

Looking over my shoulder.
Mane and Salah barely miss a game amazingly, and Firmy and Jota jobshare most of the time.
It's very very occasionally they have to dip into the Minamino and Origi level of shte.
If they had to more often they'd quickly get exposed.
That's the thing, they are not that light up top as some would have it. Salat - Mane - Jota - Firmino - are all good to great on paper, then you have Minamino and Origi as back up. Sure they could upgrade on that, but you don't get great players to sit on the bench. As you say, the main three are never injured. Also, it wasn't long ago that Firmino was the greatest forward in the world, albeit one who didn't actually score goals.

The Serie A looks miles behind the Premier League. We played AC Milan with a second string side when they were top and beat them.
Not denying that but Inter are better than Ac Milan and are pretty good going forward. Unless you lot morphe into 2018-2020 Liverpool, I can see Inter troubling you more than AC.

I think we'll be ok. It's the latter stages that will cause some issues.

It’s easy when you are getting a fortune to do it. It’s very obvious why City hardly ever have players wanting to leave.

I don’t think that was the right call though. Liverpool needed to be buying to replace Mane and Wijnaldum. The problem is that they only ever bought in cheap backups and continued to play the same side.

Mane should have been seriously challenged and lost his place by now. The fact that he hasn’t is negligence by the board.

A board who will be quickly exposed when their lucky break that was Klopp, finally leaves.

Ah, it’s the old “we lost because the opposition was tired” excuse. Of course it is.

I've seen other quotes from him saying Leicester deserved to win and we were below par, particularly on an individual level.

If you take for example St Maximin and play him one game in 2, or rotate from the bench, he'll be more than happy to rotate to try and win the starting spot. He'd happily trade Newcastle for Liverpool. They're not looking at the Mbappes of the world, they're looking at the next Mane, Jota from the lower clubs. Problem for them is that their owners are cheap as shit, they've spent something like £100m net since Klopp took over, compared to about £500m for us and City.

The thing about Liverpool is that Salah and Mane (to a lesser extent) have set a very high bar not only for the Liverpool squad but for the whole league. It’s unfortunate for them because Origi and Minamino is quite a huge step down and they rarely get played because of that huge step down. The fortunate thing about it all is that the duo are always fit and rarely get injured so Klopp doesn’t even have to dip into the Origi/Minamino lifeline as Salah in particular delivers week in week out. Also having Jota rotate with Firminho helps the squad too however I had always thought to myself why Klopp has never really looked to try Firminho-Jota-Sala often considering that Mane has not been at his explosive best.

I always felt he was a better knockout manager then a league one and actually performs better when he is in that underdogs over achiever position

For companies I say he is quite different to the pep style kind of manager who when gets to the top keeps it and fends of challenges , pep has been very consistent in the league since his barca days and big credit to him while klopp has been much more erratic per say

I guess you could attribute some of it to pools and Bvb's financial situation failing to keep of with their direct rivals ,but I'm not entirely convinced that's the case

Mane needs to be moved on and replaced. He is in a decline. Has been amongst the goals this season, but the signs of decline are clear.
The club will find it difficult to sell him later. The club can still get a decent amount of cash for him now.

He and LFC players admitted that Leicester were the better side, while we played poorly.

I would also Interpret that tweet this way. Leicester had to overcome many hurdles and did so very well, while Liverpool was under par. Lots of reasons to mock Klopp, but this isn't one of them.

Are FSG really that skint? Can't they just buy another wide forward and then rotate with Mane?

Has anyone been linked to replace Mane? I also agree he is on decline.

I get the impression that it's like SAF's latter years with us when there was "no value in the market". Basically if you have a manager who can compete for major trophies on a relative shoestring budget, then let them.

I'm sure that if Liverpool signed Guardiola as manager they would be spending a lot more because it would be necessary.

Tsimikas is the perfect example of Klopp's biggest problem. To him, squad players are exclusively to be used when the first choice is injured, too tired or suspended. They get fed up of never getting a sniff and move on and he usually has to replace them with worse squad players. Then when someone gets injured he's left with poor back-ups.

Whenever Tsimikas gets a chance he looks great, but I guarantee Robertson will be straight back into the team as soon as he's available again despite some questionable form this season. I also think this lack of unforced rotation is why they tend to hit a bad patch every year where they all look tired.

He’s started 11 games this season. How much do back up lb’s play for other clubs?

And out of interest, which other positions do you think he should rotate some more? Cb’s and midfield get rotated all the time, Firmino’s been injured but will share playing time with Jota eventually. That leaves rb and wide forwards, where the back ups are Milner and Minamino.

The problem is he doesn’t have 70 million back ups in every position.

Yes. For the money the club makes, Klopp should get a few more signings.

I trust Edwards' judgement, and he fancied Bowens. His performances this season for West Ham have proved Edwards right.
But the club said no to West Ham's price.

He is left footed though isn't he and he plays more in Salah's position?

It was a bit baffling seeing Salah start away to Milan. Certain games where such players should not start, or should be taken off once a certain goal margin is reached.

No they don't. A quick Google search would show this.
He's over exaggerating, but his point is spot on.
City have the highest depth in the country.

Klopp as much as we hate to admit it has worked wonders there, and could easily come out a great 5 year spell with just 1 title and 1 euro cup.

He can't be spot on while over exaggerating.

Also the second point is disputable. One can argue Chelsea (and possibly United) have better depth.
His general point about their stunning wealth across the squad is spot on, but he's over exaggerated it.
I.e. they don't "literally" have 70m players in every position.

But they DO have better depth than everyone, actual quality wise.
Chelsea can't compete with City, which is why they'll come 3rd at best.

City's squad depth is vastly over estimated. They have a fantastic 14/15 players but in a few positions don't even have a reliable under study at all and relation on cross-positional players. And of their back up players really only a couple are big money transfers.

There is no other team that have the money outside of their first eleven that City have. It’s not even close! Their £100 million man has lost his place!

If you consider Walker, Stones, Mendy (who wouldn’t be starting regardless), Ake, Grealish, Gundogan, Ferran alone, who didn’t start their last game, that’s about £350 million and their starting eleven was ridiculously strong.

Its not spot on, but it’s an absolutely valid point to make. Guardiola can be a great coach while still having every advantage over other teams.

It’s not, they had an absolute fortune not starting their last game.

Steffan

Walker
Stones
Ake
Mendy (spent 50 million on him regardless)

Gundogan
Grealish
Fernandinho

Ferran
Palmer
Foden

That is their second eleven. The fact that their left back is unavailable and Ferran is sold (he will 100% be replaced) doesn’t enter into it. They have spent absurd money to have unrivaled depth.

Shaw, Lindelof, Bailly, Wan Bissaka, Matic, Mata, Van de Beek, Pogba, Sancho and Martial is pretty pricey.
