Ramón Planes has been one of their better sporting directors in recent years. He's the guy who brought in some of their better players for cheap like Ronald Araujo.
Fair enough

Pedri, Araujo, Abde. He is a great scout.

Interesting development. To add onto that, apparently, Ramón Planes (former Barcelona sporting director) is also in our shortlist.
On your shortlist for what position? You will have a DoF (Murtough), a manager, a technical director (Fletcher), and an important and highly influential consultant and spiritus rector (Rangnick), and then you'll hire Mitchell or the Barca guy? To do what?

Do you guys believe Murtough wants to make himself obsolete?

edit: by the way, Mitchell just sacked Kovac at Monaco

Not sure if it means anything or it’s purely coincidental but Ramon Planes and Paul Mitchell have something in common.

They both worked with Poch… twice!

(Planes at Espanyol and Spurs, Mitchell at Soton and Spurs)

Thought Fletcher is going to take over from Ralf ? Or is it Fletcher/Ralf - new DoF combo ?

What would be their roles ?

Good point. I hope it doesn't happen at United. I want ETH.

Lukaku is like the employee that left a good job thinking the grass is greener only to come grovelling back when things didn’t work out at his new gig, but the workplace has moved on and no one knows who the feck he is.

I think Marcel Bout and the transfer committee that Ed Woodward established might be rejigged based on these links. Both Mitchell and Planes are known for their scouting, so it wouldn't surprise me if Murtough and/or Rangnick are considering overhauling that transfer committee.

Mazhar you've put a lot of effort in this thread and I appreciate that; I hate to say this but the constant Barca, Dembele, M'Bappe, Haaland, Real, Xavi, Dybala tweets aren't really adding any value anymore, it's the same story being said in many different ways.
I'll take a lot of flak for this, especially as I've always believed people should stop moaning about Fridge, but as someone who reads every page of this thread, I had to say it.

Yeah, I noticed this last year, which is why I've reduced the number of Tweets that I post. Every Tweet that I, therefore, post is either a new transfer story or a new development to an existing story. For example, I've skipped over a bunch of "Jorge Antun will meet with Juve's team for Dybala's contract" a long while back or Tweets that are basically reminders and rehash existing information.

Unfortunately, much of the new developments and news revolve around Barcelona at the moment, especially given some of their recent transfer and contract renewal activities.

Thanks for being so graceful about my it.
I guess partly am just tired of the Barca and Real circus. Especially Barca ATM.
