It would be nice if it was 2 years ago, and he was complementing the finishers (Ronaldo, Greenwood, Cavani) or the runner (Rashford) with his link-up combined with finishing.
He's had 1.5 miserable seasons, when both his finishing and dribbling left him, the crowd hates him, and he and the manager don't like each other. As much as I like him, don't see a way back.

Martial's close control is a thing of absolute beauty. You can question whether he has the instincts of a striker. I was screaming when Bruno slid him in on the six yard box and he turned and toed it away. However, when it comes to taking the ball to feet and committing defenders he's superb.

I wanted him kicked off the pitch when he missed a half decent sitter right at the end but after properly thinking it through he exceeded expectations with his cameo.

Always thought he was the one player who could easily connect with others on the pitch. Probably not a number 9 though.

People only notice this when he's gone. And wonder why we don't win penalties anymore. Have 90 minutes of Martial running at a defender with that control greatly improves your chances of winning a penalty, and opens up space for other players.

I forgot about that. Now that I think about it, quite a number of our penalties have been through him being fouled.
I said it a couple of weeks ago if you'd told me we could have Ronaldo and Cavani for a season but it would mean Martial left I wouldn't have taken it. I would rather we found a way to use him and keep him till next season when they'll be gone.
Bear with me, Martial wasn't particularly good, it was a bang average cameo. But his skillset and mentality are exactly what we are missing, he is the type of player that can help glue our attack and that without even playing at his best level.
He could easily scored today and honestly that would be deserved.
I just know he's going to kill it in Serie A or some shit league. So special with the ball at his feet. Honestly he'd be a shrewd purchase for Barca, I think he would thrive with a coach like Xavi
