You should apologize for the strawman argument.
How can it be weak, Donny doesn’t play. My argument is based on that fact, not one that the managers (including the current one) must be shit if they can’t see how good he is and he must get a run of games to prove people different. Thats called in training or pre season and trust me, we all acknowledge the midfield isn’t the strongest so if RR thought he’d improve it, why wouldn’t he. He’s done that in other positions…..

Truth is if VDB was as good as people think...a bigger club would have paid us the 35m we paid for him...instead they all want a loan. Heck even Ajax could offer 25m to get him back and play him and I know United would take it.

Crystal Palace loan would be ideal, can't believe they are turning it down.

Let's see how he does with a run in the prem(allowing for being in a much worse side)
Agreed. He won't get any minutes with Pogba set to come back soon. Not that he would have anyway.

The Curious Case of Donny van de Beek continues. Neither played, sold or loaned, but handsomely paid. I genuinely can't tell what's the deal here. I don't think I have ever seen a footballer in a more peculiar position.

Could do with getting him match fit on loan and sold for as much we can get back.

Which would club buy a player that has barely played these past two years? I don't care if its prime Messi or Ronaldo, you won't find one.

We will be very light if all of VBD, Lingard and Martial are gone this windows. Unless we are bringing in at least 1 midfielder.

We have the squad depth to be able to move Martial and probably Lingard out. I don't think we have the depth to move out Donny without a replacement, despite the fact that he never plays

Just put the fecking lad out of his misery and sell him. There's no reason to hold on to him into next season
I guess club wants him here for summer when new manager comes in.

Rangnick probably only sees him as a number 10. We have Bruno there, Pogba can play there, even Sancho. We're playing 3 competitions so need players but this deal until the end of January could happen.

He's played under two managers who have both said he doesn't possess the necessary physical attributes to ever play in the PL for a team like United. I can tell you exactly what the new manager will say by November when he's played a full 20 minutes in the PL and 90 in a League cup loss.

On the face of it (like signing him in the first place) he's needed if Bruno gets injured and Lingard goes. Reality is Bruno doesn't get injured and Lingard is still here

People say he'll stay to see if he gets games under the next manager but if the new manager sees what Ole and RR have then that'll be 3 years he's barely played. He has to leave on loan or be sold ASAP for the sake of the lads career

Endoscopy is one example here. They hit you with a little Jacko Juice and stuff a camera down your throat.
Hopefully want him part of the squad as ten Hag is going to be manager and wants him there. Still can't see how he'd get in ahead of Bruno though

You may be right but Pochettino wanted him at Spurs and ten Hag managed him at Ajax so that could be a reason we don't sell him. Loan to a Premier League club would be great for him and us.

I genuinely may have missed it, but don't recall either manager actually saying that, just media attributing it to them. What they have both said is how good he does in training and how hard he works.

This is getting fecking disrespectful from the club now. If we aren’t going to play the lad which at this point is pretty clear we’re not then let him go elsewhere and start getting some minutes instead of festering on the bench.

I know what you're saying, and that's great and all but Pochettino has a shocking transfer record and VDB would be equally sidelined at Spurs by Jose or Conte for not being physical enough and him being good enough for Ajax just shows the step up to the PL has been too much for him. I think he'll be successful but he needs to go to Spain or Italy.

if he is sent on loan and martial also leaving, we surely had lined up someone for the MF area?

Pochettino wanted any #10 that was available in those months. I reckon Levy bickered about Bruno, Donny, Olmo thinking Alli was still good and they ended up with Lo Celso.

ETH plays with 2 attacking midfielders right now. Often attacking in a 3-1-5-1 formation with a midfielder and a fullback pushing up in those 5 spots.

Knowing us, we will let each of Martial, Lingard and Van De Beek leave, and bring absolutely nobody in to replace them and leave ourselves short.

A loan without an option to buy seems the right move. He needs gametime but might as well leave it up to the new manager to make a permanent call on him, particularly if there's a possibility the new manager will be someone who either managed him before or wanted to sign him before.

Plus it would be good to see him get a run of games in the PL even at another team.

They say that then never pick him, which suggests whatever the issue is, it's out of his hands, i.e. genetics. Two leaks from both managers said the similar things, also the reason why Donny bulked up over the summer hoping it would make a difference to his game.

I understand why we dont want to let him go, imagine the situation minute 89 we need a sub look to the bench as he's not there. Who's going to do it? we need him.

We're obviously not buying anyone so we're a couple of injuries away from needing to use him. As for 'wanting him in the team next year' I very much doubt it. Not good enough.

Whats the point of sending him on loan unless there's a generous mandatory fee attached? Better to keep him here in case we have an injury crisis.

The club will always put its best interests over the player.

That makes sense but we're currently playing 4-3-3 and he's not getting a chance

I've a feeling Fred and McTominay will get a palce as one of the attacking midfielders for their high press, hopefully I'm wrong.
