They are not far from safety and in Norwich, Burnley and Newcastle, and dare I say Everton and Leeds who could very well be dragged in, the relegation battle is still quite open.

Hodgson has the experience for this thing. I still fancy them to go down, but I also won't be surprised if Watford survive.

Any of those four teams - Watford, Newcastle, Burnley and Norwich - need just one good month.

And lastly, hilarious thread title.

Before getting too carried away taking the piss…..

Utd play Watford 26th Feb, just 3 days after Atletico Madrid v Utd.

Also worth mentioning…. Watford have already stuffed Utd 4 - 1 this season :nervous:

This man deserves to be enjoying his retirement.
I guess this is enjoyment of his retirement life : get some fresh air , talk to old pals , watch live games, take pocket money for 3-month work and no body could blame him for results whatsoever ~ How great is that ! :)

Claudio Ranieri is set to be appointed as Roy Hodgson’s replacement after Watford languished to their sixth defeat in a row and remain rooted to the foot of the table.

He is supposed to keep them in the PL not play revolution football and he is going to do excatctly that. Next season Watford is going to hire someone new.

What a dreadful unimaginative appointment if that is. Good grief.

I hope they go down now - either them or Newcastle. I’d absolutely love Norwich to finish bottom, Burnley to finish second bottom then let Watford and Newcastle fight it out for the last relegation spot.

Burnley v Newcastle on the final game of the season should be good. Chris Wood sending Burnley down would be biblical.
I think it’s a far better short term appointment than Howe at Newcastle. They should have made this one.

I think there is enough at Watford to make them compact and be able to hit teams on the break, especially when Sarr is back. If there is a manager with a proven track record for getting comfortable mid table finishes with teams that should be going down, it’s this guy.

I think this could well keep them up, and I hope it does, because I really want to see Newcastle going down.

Really ambitious to take the job, would have been a miracle to keep them up. Hindsight, he should have just stayed retired as he did a good job at Palace in his latter days, was a good note to end on instead of being just another number added to Watfords list of managers.
