What way we think this is going?
Part of me thinks 100% Brock. Another part of me says out of the two, only Roman can hold and be present for both titles.

If they kept this to 1 night and only had the matches that mattered, this would’ve been one of the greatest Wrestlemania’s ever.

Think Reigns but then if Brock doesn’t win then who will they put over Reigns?

My God that was one of the worst main events  ended quite suddenly.

Yay more Roman but with two belts.

For me aside from Seth/Cody, Bianca/Becky and Austin/Owens, the most entertaining parts of the weekend all involved celebrities.

EDIT: Would you say McAfee counts as a celebrity? Because him too.

I thought Brock would start having better matches seen as he is finally enjoying himself character wise. The whole finisher spam thing was fun with him and Goldberg but he has done it in every match since and it's so stale and boring. Roman is just also not a very entertaining wrestler in the ring :/

Romans arm looked messed up at the end.

No wonder it was such a quick ending to the match.

Night 2 was a bit... Meh? Definitely didn't capture me like night one did.... think it probably suffered being Night 2.

I did really enjoy the triple threat tag match to be fair (my god do people love Randy Orton), and the McAfee/Theory stuff was great (crowd also really loved Pat) And the Zayn/Jackass stuff was fun (though maybe a bit long?) .. but everything else was just a bit there.... Styles/Edge was good but just didn't capture me like Seth/Cody did... and the main event was going well then just, ended?

Still catching up with everything on night 2 but what is Edge's entrance and why didn't he come out to the Brood theme if he's doing that. Seriously I'm almost angry about that.

Brock injured his groin and Roman seems to have torn his tricep

Night two was decent. Wasn't expectint much more from that main event and the two involved. Rushed ending or not, the time given was about right

Overall it was an enjoyable two nights.
Do think a few less matches and all on one night would have been simply amazing

But I don't mind the two night format. It's been needed for ages and guess the pandemic allowed it and people are more accepting of it

Probably easier also with a network format rather than PPV format.

I enjoyed. For Roman they can have him on both shows I guess. And lashley as one contender and drew as another.
And can throw Owens into the mix too

Speaking of mcafee, him having seven nation Army was genius
Just caught up on night 2 and said the same thing to my wife. The crowd immediately got into it and I think that’ll stick with Pat now.. if he does any more in ring stuff

Let's see how the mess up Raw tonight.

Interesting news today.....

Pat Buckridge (professionally known as Pat Buck), who produced several Wrestlemania 38 main events over the weekend, officially resigned from World Wrestling Entertainment today, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Buck, who produced Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar (with Michael Hayes) and Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair, informed the company this afternoon he was departing.

The word making the rounds is that Buck stated that with the matches he worked on for Wrestlemania 38, he had achieved his goals of producing main events on the biggest show of the year and now needed to refocus his energies on his family, something the current WWE schedule could not consistently afford him the ability to do.

Actually burst out laughing when the giant hand slapped Zayn in the face. Fair play.

All in all thought it was hit and miss but certainly not dull.

Enjoyed the Austin stuff a lot more than I thought I would and most of the supposed joke matches actually were good entertainment. More than enough to make it worthwhile.

Then again not sure Logan Paul carrying a match or Jackass the movie pinning a wrestler with a giant mouse trap is what I would call the pinnacle of professional wrestling. And the main event they built for over half a year was a botch.

And the 2 day long event thing might make Vince a bit more money but as a spectacle it's just too long.

Night 1 had the good matches, night 2 had the sports entertainment. Sami/Knoxville was silly fun if a little long, Pat McAfee was great and that whole thing would have been a big thumbs up except for the Vince stuff. Crowd chanting 'you still got it' when he clearly didn't. It looked god awful. Have him take his shirt off, flex and have Theory do a beat down with a chair or something so Vince can just pin him. He couldnt even ram McAfee's head into the turnbuckle properly. Main event was okay, Reigns clearly got injured which is probably why it ended so quickly. Might have actually done the match a favour, it ended before the finisher spam got boring.

You could cobble together a great show with some of the stuff over the two nights, but as it was I couldn't say it was better than kinda good.

Is Reigns going to relinquish the titles tonight?
Highly doubt it.

If he needs time ... He can just do tag matches if required and doesn't need to defend for a while.

No updates as yet on extent of injury.

Just watched some of the night 2 stuff spoiler free this morning and I somehow enjoyed it. Granted I skimmed past most of the filler stuff but the main event was fun. For me in present time Roman is the best thing and fair fecking play to WWE for booking him like he is booked. Absolute badass. No pandering to the fans bs. From his entrance to his demeanor, everything is gold. Him and MJF are the two best things in professional wrestling right now.

Special mention to Vince. For a 76 year old the guy still is more over than majority of wrestlers. Even his botched sell of stunner was fun.

Edge vs AJ was decent but more than the match I like where they are taking Edge's character.

Good to see HHH, Stone Cold (again) and Taker. The only way to enjoy today's product is not to worry too much about long term thing. I had low expectations and I came out pleased.

It's said that WWE still want a world title on each brand.

I'm guessing they could potentially not have Roman on the show tonight or just make a brief appearance and protect him.

WWE just announced Reigns kicking off Raw.
Vacating both belts due to injury?

Story wise, it's kinda the best outcome, though the injury is crap of course. Reigns gets to have the long title reign and undefeated spell, ala Becky Lynch, but both the WWE Title and Universal Title scenes get refreshed. I'm not sure there's enough star power on the SmackDown side though so maybe they need to pull a surprise return or something.

In other thoughts, any predictions for surprise returns/debuts tonight and on SD? I'm far from saying all these will come up but I could see any of the following - Paige (rumoured to have been cleared), LA Knight, Bron Breakker, Tommaso Ciampa (permanently on main roster), Legado del Fantasma, Io Shirai, Asuka... weird, out of left field shout coming up... maybe Enzo and Cass? Not sure if they're locked into any further commitments with MLW and Impact respectively. I wouldn't even be surprised to see Johnny Gargano to return, especially after having spent a couple of months with his new child.

The big question is on how bad the injury is.

So far no news from WWE to media so could just use it as storyline tonight like you say.

It's been confirmed as I expected, Cody is to be on the Raw side.

Bayley and Bliss must be due back soon.

Yes! Totally forgot Bayley. Bliss is an odd one. She returned for Elimination Chamber and hasn't been seen since. It sounds like she's considered a risk due to all her concussions. Strange to take her off TV for most of the time though as she's probably the best on the mic of all the women in WWE and most of the men IMHO. Though the Fiend-ette gimmick is awful and does her no favours.

If Reigns indeed dislocated his shoulder, that's 2 to 4 months I believe. Kross had to vacate the NXT Title with this injury but WWE makes up their own rules regarding the supposed "must be able to defend within 30 days" thing. Strangely, though, Reigns winning both belts makes it more likely that WWE will have him vacate them. If he was just, say, Universal Champion, he could hang onto that while the WWE Title matches headline the "premium live events". It's unlikely WWE will have no WWE nor Universal Title defences for potentially 2-4 PLEs/PPVs.

Clearly WWE are building to Reigns/Rock for WM39. Having Reigns as dual champion for the whole year leading to that would've been incredibly dull.

Roman vacating the belts would be an awful decision. The whole point of a run like his is to give someone the kudos of beating him.

The rest of the roster already look like afterthoughts in comparison (except for Cody who's only just arrived), so putting the championship on someone without Reigns losing it devalues the championship, and any reign (pun not intended) will feel like just waiting for Reigns to come back and reclaim it via low blow. Plus, when he eventually does lose, it's much less of a rub to beat him.

If he can't perform for a while, have him lose the titles in raw in a quick match with a betrayal from his crew or something, at least that way all the time spent throwing the rest of the roster on the pyre isn't wasted.
