Hard to sign top players when Utd are out of the top 4, the existing players not up to it, no CL etc. This will be a long, hard slog that will probably see the rest of the decade out before there is any real challenge for the top trophies.
That might actually be a blessing given our hit rate with top players.

Not one of these players give a shit.

Start from scratch with a fresh bunch who actually want to fight.
I hope they played shite because they've been told to feck off at the end of the season. I don't want to see many of these cnuts anywhere near my club next year. If we start handing out new contracts in the coming weeks then I'm honestly going to dig a massive hole in the ground and just go live in it.

Ralf Rangnick.
Everton ran 10km more than us today. This stat perfectly encapsulates everything rotten with the club.

One team's players who're fighting for their immediate futures, the others who're perfectly content in the knowledge that their wages are going nowhere regardless of what happens to the club.
So that implies that United had much more control of the ball……so in effect, United dominated possession, which they did.
There's a difference between having more possession, and letting the opposing team run 10km more than you in a match you lost.

By your logic Man City should have the least work rate in the league? No, they regularly rank near the top of the league for running stats.
Pep on importance of running:

“Without the ball these players are top quality,” “I try to convince them to run like the most humble team in the world.

“If they don’t do that they don’t play - they sit beside me on the bench. I can forgive everything - but if they don’t run, they don’t play.

“You have to run in football. People say a lot of things. Our physicality is always good. That is one of our secrets - more than tactics, spirit. you try to run.”
This is something we don't know the meaning of at this football club anymore.

Pro footballers playing for Manchester United
Can't make simple passes.
Don't put in enough effort.
Walk around and hang on to the ball too long.
Give up after conceding a goal.
No one can get a tune out of this lot.

Our players ARE average.
I mean average as in placing random players that play for other lower-mid table teams. Because I've seen more competitiveness from a non professional footballer playing in an unofficial match. This is very worrying because even if they have a new manager, there's no guarantee it will change their outlook on football. A lot of change in players have to be done to reset everything I'm afraid.

Sorry. I thought this was going to rhyme. Was going to ask what tune I should sing it to. You are right though.

When you let the players get away with it…even worse rewarded for it! Then you get what you deserve.

Ralf is not the type of guy to pander to their egos and tell them how great they are.

Our goal difference is +7 and 7 games to go. This must be our worst season. That performance was dire.

My only worry is if we are more than one top manager away from even the top-four.

This season is trashed. We need to bench most of these assholes and play young players for the rest of the season. Give young guys chance and experience at least if we are gonna lose to the likes of relegation Everton, anyways

It requires Ten Hag deal to be done as RR must consult with him which senior players, if any, should still play, but it should be half of them at most

Oh please he is the captain of FC Softasshit always the same shit. Spinless bunch of primadonnas.
Not a lot he did wrong today. Also he is the poor sap that gets rolled out to answer for the rest of them time after time recently. Where is Captain fecking Fantastic. To me if you have that sort of performance the captain should be facing the music.

What gets to me is the way in which this team lose, or fail to win. We don't get outplayed, we're not overrun, the opponent doesn't play very well. This game, we had more than 2/3 possession, more shots, more shots on goal, twice the xG of the opponent. And still it seems completely logical and appropriate that we lose. Because we're so fecking TEPID it makes you want to scream. No sharpness, no confidence, no fight. And - and this is to some extent on Rangnick I think - we basically don't have an offensive game, haven't had one for ages. Other than feeding off opposition mistakes. We are a much worse team than last season, and we're not getting better, or show any indication of being on the way to getting better. I'm almost beginning to hope we end up in the ECL next season, that's about our level right now and what these losers deserve.

Check our running stats against City then.
Yes, it is an ongoing problem with this squad. To be fair to Rangnick I don't understand the choices made around squad composition with the nature of the PL in mind. We don't have any senior attacking players(maybe outside of Lingard) capable of playing with physical intensity for 90 mins. That is why Elanga has got a run, not on ability at this stage, but on workrate and willingness to run. To add Ronaldo and Sancho to an attacking group of Rashford, broken down Cavani, Greenwood, Pogba, Bruno, Matic, low intensity full backs in Shaw and AWB was never going to work.

McFred get a lot of stick but they didn't have a chance with group around them.

So this team, without the summer additions of Ronaldo, Varane and Sancho, reached a second place in the league last season, and a EL final. And that with a (supposedly) much worse manager. Makes sense.

Forgot we had early kickoff and missed the entire game, not gonna lose sleep over it

Agreed. Not sure what people expect him to say really. If he said 'we played well and were unlucky' the same people would be slamming him for not taking responsibility etc.

A part of me thinks we should actually clear many first teamers (somehow) to send a clear message as to the standard of effort and application required. And I'm not just talking about the ones that are anyway goners.

He is as much of a problem with the mentality of this group as the next man. But I agree with you on why the so called captain is a no show. We weren't good enough bla bla we go again bullshit.

I fail to see where we've improved since Ole went.
I think our basic game looks better - more structure and solidity. But on the other hand, we seem to have completely lost our killer instinct, and our attacking game, which at times was very good under OGS, has just disappeared. And the results aren't better. Not even compared to OGS' record this season, never mind the previous two.

But, ultimately as I'm sure you'll agree it's a pointless comparison. Whatever OGS had going simply collapsed this fall, there's no way back from that. But it all leaves us in a grim place.

I would be thinking about the future of the club, change the way you lengthen contracts (which they already showing stupidity), put the right sort of incentives in, stop rewarding players too early. Look if players have the right character before you sign them. You need to have the skin of a rhino to play for United, too many fold under the slightest criticism, instead of using it to prove us wrong. If somebody is the wrong fit, sell them, do not be embarrassed to admit you got it wrong.
Agree

Think as a goalkeeper you can see everything that is wrong. He has a ring side seat.

In a way I can understand why they look at Declan Rice, not just for his midfield prowess, but can also slot in at CB. The big thing to me is, that he is a captain.

Totally agree.

And start being more cynical in terms of selling players. If they are demanding crazy money when renewal of contracts are due, put them on the transfer market.
Stop renewing players in the hope of them turning good suddenly. Get rid and get on. We seem scared to sell players who somehow maybe turn out valuable in the future.

I wonder how much money/room for new players we have missed out on by holding on to the likes of Lingard, Pogba, Rashford, Henderson and so on.

Definitely. We hand out stupid contracts for far, far too much money and then don't sell players because of another team not agreeing to a few million more on a fee, when they should just get what they can for them to get their wages off the clubs books. If they weren't on so much money we would likely find it easier to shift them.

For me its the opposite. I hope Spurs win later and Arsenal miss out on top 4. That along with Liverpool missing out on major honours are all I have left to hope for this season. Completely lost hope in this squad of players.
