Saw the 2 on the screen yellow card and thought it must be wrong.

3 or 4 blatant yellow card offences yet he played the full 90 plus extras.

Usually managers would hook reckless players who are on a yellow but Klopp clearly knew that Taylor did not have the bottle to show a second yellow.

Came here expecting this thread to be bumped. I just watch all the shit he gets away with with incredulity these days. It's not even surprising anymore, it's the norm

He got 1 yellow. But had clattered 2 players in a minute.

Got away with that brutal foul late on as someone had slightly brushed him just before! Lucky!
Yup very lucky he was fouled or he would have 100% been off.

I thought Fabinho was the "Luckier" one today because that orange could have been a red.

Yes, that one screamed of not wanting to make a brave decision because it was an on a knife edge big game.
A brutal foul, studding someone just above the ankle.

He had to do all the work today. For the best CDM in the world Fabinho was woefully inadequate, full of jitters. Thiago had to hold that midfield on his own.

Definitely should have been sent off, same as Fab. That's what happens when you get refs from Manchester, they overcompensate the other way. :p

He's probably my favorite player to watch.

His champs league final performance for you was beautiful.

(Not denying the fact he may be a liability in tackling at times)
Thiago tackling is one of the most beautiful things in football, up there with Süle dribbling.

He took the piss against us when we played Bayern a couple of seasons ago. He was almost playing a different sport to our players. Still bit of a prick though.

That’s not luck. It was bad refereeing. You’re not allowed to assault another player without fear of getting booked, just because you were fouled an instant beforehand. The ref should have given Liverpool the free kick then sent Thiago off for a second yellow card.

Got away with it with those challenges but I thought he was miles better than Fabinho and Henderson. One of our only players in the first half who had a half decent game.

He can't tackle to save his life.

Held our midfield together singlehandedly today. Such a class act on the ball.

Well he was lucky that there was bad refereeing then?

It happens.
Yes. Lucky the ref didn’t do his job. I was really only pointing out how dumb it was to link him being fouled to him not getting booked. A mistake also made by the chortling goons working for Sky Sports. They earn a living talking about football and don’t understand the rules. Idiots.

 yeah he was lucky (as I stated) that he didn't get a second yellow (because the referee chose not to punish him due to the foul, rightly or wrongly).

You may think it was "Dumb" but I was just replying to this ;

"Got away with that brutal foul late on as someone had slightly brushed him just before! Lucky!"

I don't know what the "chortling goons" on Sky Sports get up to , I don't watch that shite (nor do I care in all honesty) as I don't need help analysing a game I just watched.

My coverage in South America doesn't include any pre/ post match in depth analysis.

What has happened to him? He used to be a lovely player to watch.
He still is. Apart from his awful tackling, where he lunges carelessly, there is not a bad thing about his game.

When he and Fabinho start, we look miles better. He was one of the reasons why we finished in top 4 last season.

Even yesterday he was good. Should've had a second yellow.
Started the move for the first goal with a beautiful long switch.

He isn't now?

He's been our best midfielder this season.
I just used to find him a lot more enjoyable to watch. This isn't due to him being a Liverpool player by the way. I think he used to play with a lot more flair. He doesn't seem as skilful or creative. More of a hatchet man. It's a skill in itself how he avoids so many cards.

I agree in that he seemed to have an extra gear of nonchalance and quality in what he did before he was hatcheted by Richarlison last season. Still a superb player though. The way he ducks away from pressure is just lovely and his passing range is top notch.

Is it really necessary to talk about Henderson as if he's a non-league player? He's been a very good player for Liverpool.

It is when you're having to carry the midfield against City of all teams, and that midfield contains Henderson.
City's midfield is nothing, if he'd done it against Shrewsberry I might have been impressed but Klopp knew he wouldn't be able to hold his own and kept him out of the game.
