United:

Liverpool - away.
Arsenal - away.
Brentford - home.
Brighton - away.
Chelsea - home.
Crystal Palace - away.

I can see us getting 9- 10 points from our last 6 games. That would give us 63-64 points.

Arsenal:
Chelsea - away.
Man.Utd - home
West Ham - away
Leeds - home
Tottenham - away
Newcastle - away
Everton - home

I can see Arsenal getting 10-11 points from their last 7 games. That would give them 64-65 points.

Tottenham:
Brentford - away
Leicester - home
Liverpool - away
Arsenal - home
Burnley - home
Norwich - away

I can see Tottenham getting 10-11 points from their last 6 games. That would give them 67-68 points.
7 for United (61 points)
11 for Arsenal (65 points)
11 for Spurs (68 points)

Is my guess. I don't see us getting that close in the end. Essentially we need to beat Arsenal to keep our season alive, and if not then we'll struggle to get anything after, while we need Spurs to flop. I can see a world where we pass Arsenal, but not Spurs IMO. They have an easy enough fixture list to get enough to stay ahead IMO.

Each have 3 winnable games and 3 tough ones. Let’s see who steps up.
If we draw to Liverpool and Arsenal loses to Chelsea that opens things up.

the great thing about how bad we're playing it we can't possibly get any worse

it's literally impossible to be worse than this, and we're 3 points off Spurs

so like... you never know!

It’s pretty likely that 5th place get CL this year, unless WH also win the EL (still pretty long odds atm), so we just need to make sure that we finish above one of Spurs/Arsenal.

Spurs is Spurs, and Arse can’t buy a goal to save their lives atm. If Chelsea beats them next and we also manage to, that would be 5 defeats on the trot and 6 losses in 7 for them, that’s pretty much a killer.

It’s Utd though, and we have proven time and again that this squad has no floor they won’t drop to when the pressure is on, so we would most likely finish 7th and play the ECL next season.

City/Pool wins the CL and WH doesn’t win EL.

Edit: actually scrap that, my sleep deprived brain just invented that out of nowhere when qualification never transferred from CL winner from the same league to 5th ranked team. Must’ve thought of coefficient rules but that doesn’t come into effect until 24/25.

Every year people get surprised at the fact finishing 4th doesn't require consistency. If we were consistent we'd be challenging for the title. It's the only reason Chelsea dropped off as they couldn't keep that consistency going.

That's not right. Only get 5 teams if CL winner or EL winner finishes outside top 4.
Yeah I just edited one of my posts above, only two 5 teams scenarii is if one or both EL/CL winners finish outside top 4. Lack of sleep does funny things to you.

Our only chance to do so is spurs doing a spurs and we go a title winning run, unfortunately we are shit and conte usually doesn't bottle things, though he might have been already spursed by this point.

Yeah I think it'll be Spurs that get it. Easier run in and points on the board. They don't play midweek when we play Pool and Arsenal play Chelsea which realistically will likely both be losses

It’s more depressing to think of all those points we dropped against the bottom half teams like Everton last week. We have been woeful yet somehow only 3 points behind.
So maybe Tottenham and Arsenal are not much better than us, hmm?

Reading the Caf I'd assume that only United are shite and other London clubs are superior to us...

Where the grass is greener.
If this Utd team goes to Anfield and gets anything I'll be gobsmacked. It's a hard enough game for us when we're playing well, when we're the shambles we currently are? Not even Ronaldo can drag us to the result we need.

I'm not sure where is the optimism coming from. Have you guys watch our games this season? Our players can barely run 45 mins. All other teams in the PL especially Liverpool and City are capable on running and pressing all game long at very high intensity non stop.

Weird how we're better than 3/4s of them at this stage then

If we had someone other than Ronaldo to score goals, I'd say we might have half a chance. Right now, nope. Rashford is Bambi on ice, Bruno and Sancho have forgotten how to score and Cavani doesn't even bother to turn up.

I just can’t see us beating liverpool.

it’s tottenhams to lose.
Tottenham play Liverpool at Anfield. Tottenham won't get anything from that. So losing to Liverpool shouldn't affect our top 4 chances. I think 66 points will get a team top 4 this season. So basically need to win 4 out of 6.

They are not better. The fact we have been utter dross and still are only 3 points behind says it all.
Arsenal started the season terribly. Spurs also had a period of being terrible, to the point Conte offered to resign. You shouldn’t have given them a chance at top 4, now they are above you it puts into perspective how bad you are.

Short answer is quality and efforts are different things. If our players give their all like other teams we will probably be comfortable in Top 4.

Also, Arsenal have a game in hand, we could be easily 2/4. The way we played recently against Everton and Norwich it will takes a massive turn of form to get top 4.

The players and Rangnick just seem not the right match to do it. They are just going through the motion to finish the season, nothing much nothing less.

But Arsenals game in hand is against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Not getting any points there. Plus the other game in hand is Tottenham at White Hart Lane. Again not a guaranteed 3 points.

Missed the game yesterday but watched highlights this morning. Was worrying (not surprising) how easily the worst team in the league were creating countless opportunities carving our defence apart.

Can't see us getting many more wins against better teams. Palace away last game of the season has disaster written all over it, that's even if by a miracle we navigate through Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. I just can't see it.

Yeah shit draws from winning positions against Everton, Villa, Southampton, Watford & Burnley has cost us massively in the end

Was expected with Bruno playing CDM with Pogba alongside him.

We looked better once Matic came on, but he's too slow to play against Liverpool.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us go with a back 5

If we can take 6 points from these next 3 games, we're still in with a chance. Anything less than that and I reckon our goose is cooked.

Looking at those fixtures, I can't see Arsenal finishing 4th. Spurs have the favourable fixtures and 3 points advantage, but that could be undone by Arsenal playing them. If we were in any form, then I would still fancy us, but I cant see us winning more than three of our next six games, and we need to win at least 5 of them in my opinion.

We haven’t had a good run of form all season, I just can’t see it. We just lost to Everton, and barely got over the line against Norwich, two of the worst teams in the league. If we were in a run of form then you could say maybe, but I think we’ll be well short.

I don't understand how a team as poor as we've been can still be in it. Says a lot about the quality of the league right now that we can go through two mangers, get spanked by our rivals and Watford, meander through the season disinterested, and still be in with a shout for 4th place.

I don't see us getting it but we really shouldn't even be close.
