There were reports coming out that the higher ups were getting a bit annoyed by his keep coming out and putting the club, the players and even the Board down (personally I found him to be bang on about a lot of it). I just wonder if hes been pulled aside somewhat and been asked to reign it in a bit?So Ralf has come out and categorically said he doesn’t think the players have a bad attitude and doesn’t think they’re selfish. Bit of a kick in the bollocks for the people who’ve been worshipping him for apparently calling out those nasty no good bad apples.
Damned if you do, damned if you dont.So Ralf has come out and categorically said he doesn’t think the players have a bad attitude and doesn’t think they’re selfish. Bit of a kick in the bollocks for the people who’ve been worshipping him for apparently calling out those nasty no good bad apples.
"Possibly myself" he knows he has no guarantees about his influence next year. All he's doing is posturing and putting himself out there to be involved.Tweet

I doubt anyone here says that. Stop imagining things.Kick in the teeth for the mafia on here who claims he is totally blameless and hasn’t put a single foot wrong.
So you happy with Fletcher, the guy even without a coaching badge, as technical director and seemingly doing whatever he wants, from first team training to shouting from bench. Grow up with teh constant moaning. The club is rotten from the top, Ralf is calling it as he sees it. He is clearly not a great manager but his CV showed that. Why he isnt technical director is the more relevant question."Possibly myself" he knows he has no guarantees about his influence next year. Each press conference of his is a chance for him to sell himself. He keeps talking about working with ETH but what will most likely happen is he will be working with Murtough and Fletcher, I don't see him having any real contact with ETH. I think he's aware of this but he is purposely overstating his importance.
He's doing what he needs to do, saying it out loud so he can be involved."Possibly myself" he knows he has no guarantees about his influence next year. All he's doing is posturing and putting himself out there to be involved.

If anything is pretty clear it is that they were not good enough managers.I think it is pretty clear, or should be, that it is on players. Managers have been doing everything in their power.
The fact he realises you sign players to fit a profile of how you want to play and require in that position is an improvement. You can have a database filled with data on every player on the planet but if you don’t actually know the qualities needed for that position to implement a way of playing how can you find players? He's slightly more sure of his role next year it seems. From a sense of wanting football people involved in football decisions, its good having him on board. His CV as a manager is not good enough for this club, but as a builder, he is supposed to be elite. Let's see how it goes.
Go on then, what is a Technical Director supposed to do?So you happy with Fletcher, the guy even without a coaching badge, as technical director and seemingly doing whatever he wants, from first team training to shouting from bench. Grow up with teh constant moaning. The club is rotten from the top, Ralf is calling it as he sees it. He is clearly not a great manager but his CV showed that. Part of this is also hiring a manager and giving him the power and longevity to mold a team by implementing a playing style and buying players for that style. The setup before always limited a managers power. From what we're hearing now, ten hag has asked for assurances and the club has given him these assurances. Suddenly the medium is now looking good for a manager and set up for start a proper turn around. The fact he realises you sign players to fit a profile of how you want to play and require in that position is an improvement. I don’t think the set-up limited manager power at all. I’d argue it gave them far too much say in signings. Maybe not in removing players though.Part of this is also hiring a manager and giving him the power and longevity to mold a team by implementing a playing style and buying players for that style. There’s a difference between sickness and physical injury caused by playing a sport. Liverpool were top of the league at Christmas last season and still had a massive injury crisis where they lost nearly all their centre halves so clearly playing for a good team in a good environment doesn’t make you immune from injuries. I highly doubt Maguire has a niggle in his knee because he’s playing for a shite team. He’s quite clearly, and rightly, saying that if we were a team challenging in all fronts, with a great culture and high motivation then there is no way we’d have seven out injured: guaranteed 5 of those would suddenly be fit to play. The same goes in any job or walk of life. Sickness levels increase amongst those who are unmotivated or looking to move on, it’s a fact. Those who are highly motivated in their role, well paid, and happy with their trajectory rarely have time off. Footballers in this regard are no different, especially our lot. A handful threw the towel in a while ago. It’s isn’t the fault of the medical team looking after them, you can’t ultimately drag a horse to water: you can, however, move the problem elsewhere which is what we’ll do in the summer.
Did this armchair keyboard idiot really post this? He said its common in Germany, to have 4-5 senior players act as squad reps. What is so wrong with that? After all its all going so well at MUFC we dont need to think about new ideas....Did this amateur really say the squad should vote for the captain?
Get. Him. OUT.
Most are children that hang around message boards all day waiting for wwe to come on on a night. Some of the comments in here towards this intelligent, articulate man who has offered an extremely accurate critique of the club and very useful ideas on how to move forward are an absolute joke.
You missed out the part where he said not all managers do this. So it isn't common in Germany at all. Reading comprehension not your strongest attribute then?Did this armchair keyboard idiot really post this? He said its common in Germany, to have 4-5 senior players act as squad reps. Not true. They even said in the interview that Guardiola lets the players pick the captain. So is he an amateur with lack of control? You missed out the part where he said not all managers do this. So it isn't common in Germany at all. Reading comprehension not your strongest attribute then?
It reeks of amateurism and lack of control over the squad.
The manager picks the fecking captain. End of story.
feck that bald fravd. Chequebook manager. Not true. They even said in the interview that Guardiola lets the players pick the captain. So is he an amateur with lack of control?
Clearly implying some of our lads use excuses to get out of work.
Good news.Tweet

I'd expect nothing less from him. He's always come across as an honest guy. I never saw this as a Mourinho situation, where he was trying to distance himself from the failure on the pitch.Puts the blame on everyone, including himself and the staff not just the playersTweet

Sorry, but to a point, I disagree. It’s amazing how many ‘niggles’ are found by players when they don’t want to play. Similarly they’ll play through the pain barrier when they are highly motivated to do so. Of course, for sure, there are those injuries like Shaw’s, which you can’t fabricate. There’s a difference between sickness and physical injury caused by playing a sport. Some of you lot are so dramatic. Feels like I'm moderating a nursery sometimes.Did this amateur really say the squad should vote for the captain?

“Playing through the pain barrier” is an archaic concept that thankfully less coaches seem to demand. Playing through pain is the reason Rashford looks physically shot, if you watch clips of him 2 years ago he was so much quicker than he is now.Sorry, but to a point, I disagree. It isn’t the right thing to do, but of course it still happens.“Playing through the pain barrier” is an archaic concept that thankfully less coaches seem to demand.
The back and forth in the Caf on the football management structure of the club is hilarious.Part of this is also hiring a manager and giving him the power and longevity to mold a team by implementing a playing style and buying players for that style. Absolutely. Looks like someone at the club finally asked him why he has blamed everyone and everything but himself.I think this is the first time ive heard him come close to taking some personal responsibility so far in nearly five months.
Rumours coming out of Austria he’ll become their new national team coach. Announcement tomorrow.
