Questions genuinely have to be asked how teams are now able to produce super human bouts of energy for the entire duration of matches, as well as entire seasons, as well.

It's not like training methods are so advanced they've unlocked superhuman physical attributes that were secretly always there but previously undiscovered.
It's called analytics. You monitor footballers, you avoid them going into the red zone, you rest and train intelligently, you eat the right foods and use pre-season strategically, you use the squad well, you develop and coach footballers.

Training methods are so advanced from 20 years ago.

Footballers are not super human they're just coached excellently in all aspects.

It’s the blatantly obvious truth.

Look at their running stats, look at their running stats combined with their ridiculous lack of muscle injuries.

Look at their recovery rate for injuries.

They’re the most blatantly obvious doping side in the history of the PL.
Please, can we keep this to us lads on a football forum? The world is not ready for this stuff yet. To the untrained eye it might seem like mealy-mouthed whoppery dressed up as appallingly researched pseudo-science from the keyboards of bitter blokes who don't like it that their biggest rival is having their day in the sun.

But we know the REAL truth...it's a conspiracy!

Shhhhhh!

Huge if it gets out...
Given what we've seen from this Liverpool squad over the last few years; the limitless energy, that relentless intensity sustained for 90 minutes, barely any injuries to speak of, etc. There are too many unexplainable oddities going on with this squad. Only the truly deluded would rule out PED usage entirely.

I wouldn't concern yourself too much, it will never get out. Klopp wouldn't have entertained the idea of cheating if there was even the remotest chance of getting caught.

If Liverpool won everything and then it was discovered it was by nefarious means and it was all taken away from them,
never would the word Schadenfreude be more apt.

Premier league table sorted by total number of "pressures":

Don't have an up to date version, but running stats from earlier in the season:

The idea that Liverpool and City run and press so much more than anyone else is a myth.

What marks them out is their efficiency. Two of the top three in the league in terms of percentage of successful pressures, their total pressing skewed heavily towards the final third where it has the most impact and the total amount of physical output needed reduced by maximising their advantage on the ball, to the point where City ultimately have to make less pressures overall than any other team in the league. Which then allows the off the ball work they do have to do to be done with more intensity and focus. Rather than screaming PEDs, it screams high-level organisation.

If we're looking askance at any team it should be Leeds.

That must be it - excellent training methods.

There's no way any top sporting establishments or individuals would get involved in doping despite the massive rewards with methods so advanced, detection is completely unlikely.

I mean if teams at the top level were involved in this without detection there would be at least one season where the cycle catches up with them and there are an unusual amount of injuries due to pushing themselves beyond what is normal.

It would lead to a very noticeable spike in the number of injuries that would stick out by a mile.

Checks last year's league table...

Wait a minute...

Actually looked like they might blow it last night, but as they've done all season they find another gear and storm past their opponent. I've never been more sure of anything that them winning the quad, it's written.

Good point. You've nailed it here.

Nothing to do with having a world class manager, excellent coaches and possibly the best recruitment in Europe.

I'm just surprised that a top investigative journalist isn't onto it whereas United fans are so clued up with this stuff. Keep it up.

The truth will out brother.

[I'm also not interested in the evidence you have unearthed on this stuff - that's for nerds]

Yes, football is totally clean, the lack of doping cases demonstrates this, the same anti-doping institutions are infallible and non-corrupt :^)

I don't even know what this is proving. Two photos of the same person at different ages.

Here's one...the plot thicken.

I mean there's no question that football isn't clean. There's too much opportunity and benefit to players for doping not to be fairly widespread, even just in an unstructured way.

We have to look no further than our own Fred, who was banned for a year after testing positive for a masking agent. If even some of our lazy shitbags have done it then you can bet other teams have players who have done it too.

What's naive is the "Liverpool and City must be doping as they're so much better than everyone else" argument, as if those they're competing with aren't going to be neck deep in it too even while performing worse. Especially when there are other easily identifable reasons Liverpool and City are better than their opponents. If they were less successful but with the same physical output then they wouldn't stand out in the slightest, which if you believe they're doping should be telling in terms of its overall saturation in top level football.

If nobody was doping and football was completely clean, which it could well be but nobody believes to be, there's no doubt Liverpool and City would still be the two best teams around by some distance.

Regardless of the dicussion i'm not sure why you are putting this picture here like it's some kind of proof of doping? This is easily achieveable within months/a year if you dedicate yourself hard enough to a proper training program and eating the right foods. Nevermind if you also have a personal trainer, a nutritionist and your job is to literally train and keep fit, this was done over lockdown as well as far as I know so he had plenty of time to keep training whilst there were no matches going on, probably at his home gym.

Yes, great post - because no Utd fans think Ronaldo juices… ffs.
I think Ronaldo is the embodiment of hard work and determination to maximise personal potential. "Utd fans" can arrive at their own conspiracies all they wish.

They've let an 8 point lead slip. The lead is definitely not gone. They have some tough games remaining.
Their opponents remaining are

Newcastle at City, who just got beat by a weaker than usual Liverpool in their own house
Wolves away, who have lost at home to both Arsenal and Liverpool
West Ham away, who have 1 eye on the Europa League final if they make it or will be on the beach, and were just defeated by Arsenal
Villa at City, who's new manager bounce has worn off, plus beach vibes

I'm not seeing this difficult schedule for City. If they do have a difficult schedule, then what about Liverpool, that have to face Tottenham at home, and Villa away?

Both should win the 4 games. I don't think we're at a stage in the season when comparing run-ins is worthwhile. At the start of April lots of folk were talking about Liverpool having United and Everton as proof of the harder run-in. Points can be dropped anywhere but listing opponents is a bit futile given the runs both teams are on.

Super dedicated, world-class athlete with a bunch of time on his hands over a 4 month period because of lockdown uses incredible pool of resources to put on 10lbs. What a shock.

The whole thing about Liverpool , ped’s, media, and refs in a nutshell pushing for this quad:
I think teams are doping to a certain degree but legally or at least using supplements that aren’t banned because of no knowledge of what they are by the authorities. I would also think that Liverpool would certainly be ahead in these training methods because let’s face it, we are ahead in pretty much everything these days. I believe a large part of the media is pulling for us to do well, partly ex players, partly older commentators who might have supported us in the glory years. A lot of the media also didn’t get along with SAF during his reign and probably pull for Klopp to do well. They want us to win.
Refs are tricky. Everyone thinks their against their own team. I think deep down a lot of them want us to win. Probably supporters deep down. The lack of penalties and VAR not checking when it should might indicate a subtle bias. Put all this together and you have forces in play looking for us to try and at least be in position for this historic run at the Quad.

I agree, then there is no logical reason to believe Liverpool are the favorites in the title race with 4 games left. We have seen this procession before.

Side note: the PED talk has always had a whiff of the conspiracy mongers around it

Given both teams are basically one draw away from throwing it away, games against WH, Wolves, Spurs and Newcastle are not easy. They may turn out to be based on the respective displays by the teams on the day but there is potential for dropping points.

Liverpool don't have a very easy fixture list either but ever since the FA cup win I think they've got an extra dose of confidence they're currently riding.

So, this season Liverpool could......

1. See Everton relegated
2. Equal our 20 titles
3. One trophy equals our all-time major honours record
4. Win the treble
5. Worse, win the quadruple

god.
Sickening.

And somehow putting that much muscle didn't affect his stamina levels, despite muscle being a problem for the likes of Traoré who can't last a full match.

He's nothing like Traore. His PT will have him on a very precise muscle building regime that will help not hinder his athleticism. Are you a crank or a WUM?

Are City fans as worried as us, they're the club actually challenging for these trophies.
The ones I've spoken to are a little concerned. Compare the momentum and energy levels between the two and Liverpool are clear favourites for all these trophies.
