Doesn't seem like it bothers them that much. We are paying 25% over the top anyway.

Really disappointed that they haven’t performed well enough to earn their performance related bonus.

They should only get 25% total considering how professional and hard working they've been this season. With a few exceptions.

Nothing new but it obviously doesn't affect performances.

Damn, Rashy will have to survive on 150k a week next season, hope he gets a Gofundme page.

5:0 against Liverpool at home. 4:0 against Liverpool away. 2:0 against City at home. 4:1 against City away. 3:1 against Arsenal away. 4:1 against Watford away.

They should instead get 25% total for bringing disgrace to the club.

This is not the first time this has happened. I remember in previous years where we did not make champions league this being discussed, and rightly so. Our board get a lot wrong but writing this into all players contracts is clearly correct and good business sense, let see more of it.
Also makes it easier to shift Martial, who I believe is in the last year of his contract next season, AWB is in the same boat I believe, rumours that Palace are sniffing around him, this will help. I am sure there are others Bailly possible entering the last year of his contract. Time for a good clear out.

This along with shipping out veteran (and presumably highly paid) players like Pogba, Matic, Mata, Lingard and Cavani should seriously lighten the wage bill next season. Hopefully that means that we have room to play in the transfer market.

I’d be really interested to see how much money this is in reality. Quite a lot presumably that hopefully will be reinvested in the push to get back in to the CL.

The article also adds that Pogba will receive a £4M loyalty bonus for staying put at the club.

"Although individuals and negotiate lower rates."

I'm imagining a queue of players waiting to say "Don't cut mine, I wasn't as shit as the rest."

maybe we could have a whip round at the next home game, Im sure we could scrape together enough for a group bentley to share and a few diamond encrusted iphones?

Most likely it's bonuses. We all know how the media reports wages to make it seem inflated. You can bet the players are still getting a fat base wage.

I think there was reports of a 25% wage reduction is they don't make CL, like when a team get's relegated often they usually have something similar if the club goes down.

They should get like 70% reduction at the minimum, aside from a few like De Gea and Ronaldo who have actually tried their best carry this pile of bottlers. It's utterly ridiculous how many spineless players we have at the club today.

I think this is the reason that we spend more in the summers before EL years, in addition to the fact we face more revenue losses from no CL two seasons in a row.

Only 25%? Imagine being on vacation for a full season, barely bothering at all and the worst that happens is a 25% wage reduction in a salary that's already absurd anyway.

That would put us around the same wage level as Arsenal and still way above Tottenham and both teams are going to be in the CL next year. Insane

Their wage reduction should be a reflection of their performance this season so at the very least it should be 50%.

I actually wouldn't be against a low base wage and the rest of the money would be performance-based instead of them getting this high wages for absolutely nothing.

I would guess it’s more of a CL bonus rather than a pay cut. Just depends how you want to see it…same outcome obviously.
