Phisically it has to be KDB. Football wise they are both great and Im sure Bruno would instantly fit into this City squad

I didn’t know you could top the charts in the Premier League and not be in the conversation with regards to being world class. Bruno is undoubtably world class.
Bruno is an anomaly in the footballing world. His numbers may be world class but his performances the last year have been anything but. He's always been too erratic to ever be classed as world class and I'm saying that as a fan of Bruno.

United fans love to embarrass themselves. KDB is better than Bruno at everything and it's not particularly close. He isn't even better than Eriksen let alone KDB.

In terms of shooting and final balls, they are on same level.

But in terms of everything else (passing, build-up play, linking up midfield/attack, playmaking abilities, consistency, big game mentality etc), its night and day difference.

But if we have Bruno playing for City vs KDB playing for us, the gap might be much closer.
¿Qué?

Don't forget Rashford v Mbappe

The worst thread on here has to be loads of posters preferring to keep a 19 year old Martial over a hypothetical scenario of singing Messi. This was back in 2016 when Messi was in his prime too

Back in the day we had folk rating Carrick over Xavi and Evans over Pique.

Just absolutely not. He is faaaar away from having the calmness, consistency and intelligent drive de Bruyne has. Bruno shots or passes first, then thinks about it afterwards, he is terribly erratic and inconsistent - would drive Pep insane every single game. In short, Bruno isn’t good enough for City.

Ok, we get it , Bruno clearly isn't as good as KDB, neither is Pogba, but then again super talents like KDB are few and far between.

Take away fullbacks and wingers that help overload the (already vastly superior) midfield and KdB would be more forceful too, I mean he already is reasonably wasteful, but he's allowed to be in a team that creates endless chances regardless.

I'd take KdB though, but Pep could definitely make Bruno work.

Herrera v Kante
Fred v Kante
Januzaj v Sterling
Welbeck v Sturridge
Depay v Firmino
The worst one is still Herrera vs Kante IMO.

The others most accepted they were wrong when the evidence was there but a vocal section of the caf refused to concede on the Herrera vs Kante one. This was in 2016-2018 too, when Kante was at his absolute peak. Kante was winning every trophy possible while Herrera was watching the world cup at home but Herrera made more tackles per game so he was better apparently.

Wouldn't be shocked if it was the same crowd that were responsible for the Fred vs Kante thread too.

I imagine those stats would likely switch if you stuck then in each other's national teams

Seems that playing with Ronaldo isn’t the problem after all.

Why? Portugal are only a force so far because of Bruno. It’s not as if he’s playing in an undoubted better team

He is not searching for him as much as he was during the season last for us or previous Portugal games IMO. He treats Ronaldo just as any other player and that ups his game a lot.

Bruno has a lot to do to prove he's at KDBs level. A few goals / assists in a cup run won't do.

KdB is a system player, as are many of Ped’s signings, hence they don’t shine as much for their national teams.
Yeah, I agree to a point. KdB is better utilised within the City team because he has the right players around him, he can maximise his qualities.

The National team does not have those players so his qualities are not showing. He is not a leader or a "do it myself" type of player like Bruno, he needs certain elements to be in place to shine. So in short, he is limited to a few things he can do if given the platform. He can be exceptional when all is in place, or just decent if asked for more while having less.

Bruno has played at a very high level for a while now. I never get the hate on here or other places for him. He doesn't miss makable goals and his passing is elite. The only thing I would say KDB excels over him in is his dribbling...which is world class. And Bruno also gives a s**t which means something. We're set at the position as long as he's here and in his prime...

De Bruyne is obviously a level higher but I really don’t like either of them massively. This type of midfielder isn’t my ideal because I believe at the very top level you need someone more comfortable at circulating the ball with more care. De Bruyne can carry the ball really well, so he’s basically like the evolved form of Bruno, but I think both have the same weaknesses predominantly

Both of them have ridiculous chance creation rates, but in games at the top level (tail end of the CL/EL etc) complete control of the ball is so few and far between that those chance creation stats are massively reduced, so you’re left with an attacking midfielder who might create a spark of magic but almost certainly will give the ball away for fun. KDB in the World Cup showed that for the first two games, and Bruno shows that in his worst performances

Agree with this.

De Bruyne is on another level, possibly the greatest midfielder the PL has ever had - and I really like Bruno.
I don't think he's the greatest midfielder the PL has ever had but he's in the top 10. Bruno isn't.

His dribbling is better than Bruno but it is definitely not close to being world-class.

Same logic applies for their clubs over the last 18 months.
100%.

The stats prove it*, once KdB’s side start struggling, he gets very untidy and forces it. Kinda like another player we know. However, if their side is cruising and bossing possession, both are suddenly much tidier with the ball.

KdB is better at dribbling out of pressure though, that much has to be said.

*In the Champions League this season he averages a pass completion of 76%. Bruno in Europa League has 85%.

In the Premier League this season he averages a pass completion of 80%.(Bruno 78%).

In the WC KdB has 74%, Bruno 89%.
