Not sure what the point was of Lalo going all the way to Germany? He knows where Gus is what was he trying to figure out? Is it to expose his plans?

Booooring. With the exception of that resolved story arc, the entire season feels like filler.
What was the point of showing Jimmy opening a new office and rehiring his old secretary?

I wouldn’t class them as filler, they are setting up quite a lot despite the lack of physical action compared to the previous episode.
Bridge episodes might be a better term.

Yeah, the Nacho episode was more of an outlier than these last 2 eps within the BCS series, though. I know it's the final season and everyone is expecting non stop action but it has never been like that really. The season did start quite fast paced, so I can see why it feels like a lull at the moment.
Happy with one bridge episode but expected more to move the story forward this week. Felt like the episode finished with very little having happened.
I quite liked the ending to it, setting up well for the future.
Tony Dalton is the stand out actor of the series for me, even above Kim and Jimmy/Saul

This is so true. You would think people would be used to it by now. It's intentionally a slow paced show which eventually builds up into an explosive finish. Also one of the few shows that makes the patience worth it as the endings are normally very rewarding.
Completely agree, but normally there is more happening in the build up. Great dialogue scenes. I just didn't feel we had that the last two episodes.

How did Lalo even know about the German link and where to look? I probably have missed something from the season before.
Still haven't watched the last episode, but I really like this show. I think I could watch it for ten seasons and I would still want more. Vince Gilligan's production and writing style would make paint drying look interesting.
Genuinely tense at the end of the episode as to what he would do. I don't see these eps as filler at all.
Lalo, (posing as one of Gus' men?), spoke on the phone with Margarathe's husband (Werner, the leader of the of excavation) I'm fairly certain Margarethe was his wife that flew in to see him, and was ordered back by Werner before his execution
Lalo flying to Germany was weird. Also leaving the window open was quite stupid. If I came back to my house and found a random window open I would not sigh, I would know someone was there, small details but that's not realistic from BB/BCS point of view.

This series 6 has been a let down so far. It’s always been a slow-burner but I have never felt bored watching it before now. It’s starting to feel that there is not enough storyline to justify an extended, two-part 13 episode series.
Another boring and nothing episode tbf. Probably on their lowest form so far, 3 poor/average episodes in a row, they are dragging the finale.

If Saul asks about Lalo in Breaking Bad, that means he'll survive BCS and we won't see anything spectacular in his relationship with Fring until the end?
At this point, extending it to be eligible for 2 years of awards seasons has really cheapened it.... the amount of filler, even for BCS standards, has been astronomical. Hope they get zero nominations for this stunt.
Haven’t seen the episode yet, but this smacks a bit of Ozark’s last season which was also split. There were absolute filler episodes during Ozark’s first half, thoroughly forgettable.
I still like the show, though it gets a lot of passes because of great characters established in Breaking Bad, but this season is the greatest example of a creator being given too much free reign. The season opened with a five minute highlight reel of Saul’s house being gutted. I got the point after one minute. It hasn’t really picked up much steam since.
Enjoyed the scene where Saul and Kim did something ominous.
The drip feeding of the Lalo storyline is frustrating, especially after it seemed to be back on pace last episode. Taking Nacho out of the story seems to have taken a lot of its momentum away too.

He doesn't need to survive, Saul just needs to think he's still alive for that scene to make sense. Gus has clearly set a trap in the lab for when Lalo returns. I imagine he's under the lab the whole of BB.

I don't get the whole Howard subplot. Seems completely idiotic to me. Waste of time.

Is it weird I've not watched this as a big fan of BB? I tried the first season and it was incredibly slow and all I remember is his brother being covered in tin foil or some shit. Gave up on it.
I suppose it depends how close it is to that point in time that Lalo gets killed. Have faith the writers will get it right. Either way, I'm fairly sure he dies given how paranoid Gus currently is compared to in BB and the fact Gus taunts Hector about the Salamanca family dying with him.
Neh I hear this a lot, it is much harder to get into and is a slow show. But in my opinion the pay off is very good and continues to build the BB universe.
Its also hilarious to watch Mike grow older and older while supposed to be younger.

It's absolutely great show and production, you should really stick sith it and watch it, you'll not regret.
I don't understand why people struggle with the idea of the characters looking older than they do in Breaking Bad. We all know why that's the case, just get over it and move on? It literally has no impact on the quality of the show.
Anyway, I've really enjoyed this series so far, it's a slow burner yes but you can feel the payoff building and building. The creators are way too smart to let all this be for a damp squib.
