My perfect transfer season would be:
Out: Hazard, Jovic, Odriozola, Diaz, Ceballos, Mayoral, Vallejo, Kroos, Isco, Bale, Marcelo
In: Rudiger (assuming its done), Soler, Nkunu, Gusto (Lyon)

I'm not sure I want a big-ego like Mbappe now. Doesn't seem to have a win-at-all-costs mentality that has helped us since Ronaldo left (2 Ligas in 4 years, potentially 1 CL). Seems to rely a lot on 'team-vibe' rather than fighting to win against the run-of-play.
I think you should keep a few of those players just for depth, your squad is pretty thin at the moment. You also need to add depth on the wings/forwards , Ancelotti did wonders without really having subs for Vinicius or Benzema. When it comes to Kroos, I think he still has a year but even as a sub he can help a lot.

None of them really play other than Kroos. I don't really know why anyone would want to sell him, he's out of contract next season I think, and will likely retire.

I'd keep Hazard. What can I say, I'm a romantic. I still believe.

Allowing it to get this far will make it unlikely that anyone but the most baby-brained of fans will buy the idea that he's staying for anything other than money. It's been a year's worth of stories of PSG throwing increasingly deranged sums of money at him.
No reliable report has mentioned amounts that weren't in the ball park of what Madrid were first linked with. In this case, it's hilarious to see Real Madrid fans talk about choosing money when it's essentially what every report linked Madrid with.

That does not matter at all. We are talking public perception here, not reality.
This makes no sense. You talked about baby-brained fans but now suggests that reality doesn't matter, only perception which is the epitome of being brainless.

Do you honestly think that the general opinion in the football world, including PSG fanbase, is going to be that Mbappe stayed because he loves his hometown?

First you literally said that reality doesn't matter which is as brainless as it gets, after using the term baby-brained to describe people that may take into account reliable reports, that in itself is daft. Secondly I hope that he cares about his hometown as most of us probably do and I hope that most people will understand that whatever the decision he takes leaving or remaining in his hometown/country was part of his reflection, I hope that people realize that Real Madrid have been the first linked to the massive +40m per year contract by the spanish press, so I hope that no one is dumb enough to make it a binary decision with money on one side and romance on the other, that's the "baby-brained" narrative.

Mbappé is angling for a lot of money, a lot of influence and a lot of silverware in both cases. There will be pros and cons whether he stays at PSG or leave for an other club.

"I hope this", "I hope that." It's a simple yes or no question. Will the general opinion in football be that Mbappe stayed for money?
I personally believe the answer is YES.

And it has no relevance in his actual decision which is the only thing that matters. You don't actually think that anyone should take decisions based on opinions that aren't grounded in reality? The fact that you decided to move the goalpost is telling.

If he stays after all this, given how much he has apparently wanted to play for Madrid, his new contract must have some seriously ridiculous numbers in it.

That part is not given, he may sign for them but I think that his infatuation is overstated. Mbappé is a fan of Ronaldo but we don't really know how he feels about Real Madrid without Ronaldo and he picked PSG over them when he was at Monaco.

I think he'll still leave for Real Madrid but I don't envy the pressure he must be under. Parents, government of his home country, men with pretty much unlimited wealth and unfathomable power wanting him to stay and he's still just 23. I think ultimately he'll know that this is really his only chance to move and his chances of getting the Ballon d'Or and the greatest trophies in sport will be greatly increased at Real.

La Decision
This is some LeBron shit when he went to Miami.

If he is making a press release to announce his decision it’s because he’s 1000% going to Madrid or else he would just stay he’s staying in France.

You’re a bit tiring JP, if Mbappe chooses to spend the best part of his career at PSG, there’s no getting around he’s a money grabber of the higher order.
They are an actual team now though. They're not just signing mercenaries like Buffon and Dani Alves. If Mbappe decided to stay you can't say it's only about money when they're averaging Champions League quarters/semi finals/finals.

Mbappe has the most prestigious and glamorous teams moving the earth to sign him. Good on him. Why shouldn't he maximise his income and play at a club that has the highest ambitions. He's in a great position and the fans opinions are probably quite low on his priorities list.

It’s more so a legacy thing, if he spends his career at PSG his numbers all time and trophies (bar the CL) will all have an asterisk to them because he’s playing in a 5 star team that is loaded and playing against farmers (by PSG’s standards).

They are in their own league and his all time ranking will always be questioned staying at psg.

Tons of people throwing shade at him for choosing “money”. Uhh, its perfectly reasonable. I work at a bank. If another bank offers me more money + prestige to go there, I would want to go there. I tell my boss, he counters and offers 5x what the other bank did. I’m already comfortable at this bank, its not as prestigious as the other bank but its definitely on the rise + i’ve been told I’m central to making this bank number 1. Why in the hell would I not stay?

That they’re actually offering him board level status is mental. I wonder if this is being exaggerated by Madrid’s side in case he stays?

The whole of Qatar got involved?. what does that even mean.

The money will obvious be a massive factor but isn’t mbappe also a Parisian and PSG fan, I can believe he would want to deliver a champions league before he leave for sentimental reasons.

Love how Real Madrid fans are trying to make the whole thing revolve around money now that some reports say he might stay at PSG. Including some journalists who were saying for months that his decision wouldn't be about money. Some news even said the genius Florantino Perez made him sign a 300M clause if he doesn't go to Real Madrid and PSG is offering to pay an extra 300M so Mbappé can give Real Madrid the money...

I'm pretty much bored of the whole thing to be honest, I don't really care if he stays or go, but I wan't it to be done.

The problem is, everybody is trying to spin some kind of excuse to justify their total lack of information in case he stays at PSG. Money, board statuts, Macron getting involved, 200 virgins, who knows.

Money or no money it's a lot of pressure for a young man of 23, he's seen as the crown jewel.

Wonder if Zidane would take the job if for example Mbappe said to the owners do/pay whatever it takes to get him here and put his allegiances aside.

All this palaver over Mbappe is insanity. He's a great player, but he's not peak Messi or Ronaldo. He's not even Salah or De Bruyne.

It's being portrayed as this tug of war between nations and it all seems so weird and childish. There's absolutely every chance PSG still don't win the CL if he stays and every chance he flops in Madrid if he goes and they don't adequately replace Modric and Kroos.

Most sensible post on here in ages. If he is being offered a kings ransom to stay for another year or two. Then why not. Not only will he set himself up for life. But his kids and grandkids and beyond. He's still young, plenty of time to go to madrid later. Especially to a team that needs its core midifield rebuild very soon.

Hey man, plenty of folks care about me alright?

Truth be told I wouldn’t tell anybody to go into banking. Work is dull and hours are long but the pay is high and NYC rents are at all time highs, whats a man supposed to do?

It's potentially worse than Messi
Mate, nobody knows what's on the table or what Mbappé really thinks, "potentially" means nothing here considering that most journalist were confirming he was going to Real Madrid 24 hours ago. They could say Macron offered him a position as a Ministre to save face.

No dont me wrong it's a great job, but when you talk about prestige, thats only within those circles though. I dunno, it feels like another Neymar, only thing is he's still young, but another perspective is that he's wasting some of his best years..

They flew his family out for a vacation recently where they were met by all the QSI leadership including Al-Khelaifi and even the Emir of Qatar in a bid to woo him.

They really have spared no expense in the hopes of tying him down through their World Cup. Feels like a matter of national prestige at this point

Pretty much, the few things we know are not directly linked to this transfer or recent. Earlier LEquipe Madrid's reporter said that as far as he knows no one is in the loop outside of Mbappé and his family. Madrid don't know what he is going to do and they are nervous about it because they thought that it was a done deal.
