The reaction in here :houllier:

He’s having a joke lads calm down, hope you haven’t all wrote a furious letter to the daily mail.
It's a pretty much a right wing Daily Mail reaction,it's a bit daft what he did but hes young and I did a lot worse things when I was his age.
My inlaws all support Forest and they says he's been very good all season and not a hint of an attitude problem.
Remember this is Warnock, kick and run football, not really this lads style.
Personally I'm not sure he's good enough defensively,if ETH could improve that side of his game it might be worth a punt, however it seems he wants to go to Forest.
He probably regrets it his tweet now but some of the abuse towards something as daft as this is ridiculous

Just what spurs need, another wing back
We have two right-sided wing-backs currently - Emerson Royale and Doherty (three if you count Tanganga, who is more of a utility RB/CB player). However, it's not clear if Conte wants to keep both of these, or even either of them, so on the assumption that one of them is sold it would mean Spence, if signed, would be one of two specialist wing-backs ... which wouldn't seem to be too many.

Around £20m apparently.

We should be all over this, the money raised from AWB would make this like a swap.

Warnock is a bit of a prick. Not sure why so many on the last page were offended by that tweet.

I keep seeing this about Laird but the lad struggled to get into the Bournemouth team. Who the feck do Bournemouth have at RB keeping a 20m+ rated player out of the side?
He was injured a lot at the turn of the year when he first went there. When he got back to full fitness he started establishing himself in the team. I’d be happy for him to go back to Bournemouth for the year if he was wanted.

Some loans work out better than others. Laird was very good for Swansea. Garner performed better for Forest than Watford. Neil Warnock obviously didn't consider Djed Spence a starter for Middlesbrough at the time.

Needs some polishing but looks to have the attributes to become a player.

Jed pretty much.

Can see logic in Spurs wanting him given his profile is type Conte likes with wing backs.
I've been pronouncing his name the same way I would if Woodward was on the decks.

He definitely has raw talent but it seems pretty unpolished at this point. He started to show a little end product this year for the first time in his career but it still really there yet and my guess is that his game still needs a lot of refinement in terms of the finer points of defending and playing within and against more sophisticated tactical systems.

If he goes to Spurs my guess is that he will compete with Emerson for backup minutes behind Doherty (or Perisic if they ever play him on the right). But he probably would benefit more from either staying at Forest or getting bought and then immediately going out on loan somewhere.

I would definitely be more comfortable playing him as a RWB than as a RB, and particularly not as a RB within a system involving a lot of playing out from the back. I don't think he is a good fit for United this year at all.

He may develop into a top player, but is he actually better than Bissaka now as a full back rather than as a wing back? OR is he better than Dalot?

This would be an odd signing for me given that he's at the same stage as Laird in terms of development. Save the £20m and get behind the United youngster.

No.

I guess Spurs are looking at his ceiling and the fact he is 21 and home grown.

Good deal for Spurs but don't think this one suited us right now. We either need someone much more likely to be ready from the off or we may as well trust in Dalot/Laird.

Assuming Perisic was also signed to be a wingback on the other side(?), that’s two positions of priority in the Spurs side signed very early before pre-season even starts. Good start for Conte…

Another target missed
Don't believe he ever was a target and as others have mentioned I am not convinced he offers anything we don't have in Laird. Spence is good as a wing back and Laird was excellent in that role for Swansea, both of them are a lot less convincing as orthodox fullbacks in a back 4 so stick with the one we have developed rather than spend 20M to buy what we already have.

They are getting business done early but neither signing really moves the needle much for me in terms of next year. Spence could be one for the future though.

People were talking about Spurs maybe challenging next year if everything broke right but if the signings are the level of Perisic and Spence and if they're not getting Bastoni but instead a player like Torres or Lenglet for the LCB, then I just don't see it. These types of players will make them slightly stronger contenders to finish top four again but they need prime age top quality players to take a real leap forward and have a serious go before Kane and Son exit their primes.

What LWBs out there have the level of production of Perisic? If he doesn't move the needle then who would have?
