The edit makes your point worse. It's actually interesting, what makes you think that the Wolves are bound to feck it up, what is the base of your opinion?
Because they are the Wolves. It’s like the Kings, Jets, … Hardly ever been competitive.

Just like I’ll think the Clippers will feck it up in the playoffs no matter how good they seem, which they always have done. Unless proven otherwise I’ll stand by that.

pretty much everything I’ve seen from Minnesota is people happy for Wiggs. Nice to see. Unless I’m missing something  Some dubs fans shitting on them for the trade but it was absolutely the right move for them, he was just not a good fit there

But you realize that it's not based on logic or context. For example here you are assuming that the an actually good coach like Finch and an actually good GM like Tim Connelly are bound to mess up because they are now with the Wolves who have new owners, so it's not as if Glenn Taylor could be the difference maker.

It makes your opinion hollow and frankly uninteresting, especially when you don't make the same point about the Grizzlies who haven't successful or particularly competitive.

Wiggins was a bad fit, the move was great for him and it benefitted both franchises. Though some people still can't get over the idea that Wiggins is inconsistent and seem to pick the moments where he is going to dominate, he has done it for the Warriors and used to do it for the Wolves.

Steph > Magic anyone?
Not quite, but potentially. But he's very much on the radar of taking over Kobe and Shaq, if he hasn't already for some, I'm probably one of them too.

Another ring and he is at same level as TD and Magic.

He is only the seventh player to win at least four championships and two regular-season MVPs, after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Tim Duncan, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Bill Russell.

I would put Shaq in this group and those would be my top-8 with Shaq and Steph at the bottom of the group.

Yeah, fantastic achievement for him especially given he was so vital in the finals.

Sorry but one of my biggest pet peeves about the NBA is constantly coming up with such totally random criteria and building lists.

Especially that criteria makes little sense given playoffs and regular season are basically two different tournaments. Regular season MVP is one of the least important awards. I mean, like if Lebron wasn't coasting the regular season year after year to save himself for playoffs he would have won it like every single year.

Meanwhile this mentally deranged human being.

What is this weird obsession with putting so much weight on some miserable media guys opinions? It really doesn't matter. Not at all.

Skip is a moron.

Was cheering for Boston, but props to the Warriors. Never understood the hate they get outside of Draymond (and even he plays the fitting role of a bad guy in what is really likeable group). Happy for Curry as well and what a brilliant postseason for Wiggins locking down both Doncic and Tatum, plus being a huge offensive threat on his own.

In any case, well deserved.

Is laughing at someone “putting weight on their opinion”? surely the ones putting weight on his opinion are his employers or people who take him seriously

So many great players in the NBA, this whole top 10 thing is nonsense, impossible to make a perfect list. All players mentioned have a legitimate case to be in the top 10.

You probably aren't aware of his history and the point he's trying to make there. It's that obsession that borders on being mentally ill.

@Bobski now that he won a final MVP do you put Steph Curry in your top 10 of all time?

I know he has a lifelong hatred for Lebron. Didn't know it went to Curry as well.

You made me ask you.

And lists are fun, if you don't take them seriously. There is no wrong opinion unless it comes from @RobinLFC.
I think that is the key point, once in a while to stimulate some debate they certainly have value. However in Basketball, ranking players seems to be everything in fandom, go on to Realgm or pretty much every other basketball forum, on twitter, on youtube and the list obsession is insane.

Since top 10 all time seems to be trending throughout the media today, just as a matter of interest how would you folks rank your top 10 all time?

Agree, that's why I love to read match reports on nba.com just to see what kind of weird stat they come up to make a performance seem more impressive and rarer than it probably is

Amazing win for the Warriors. They were looking great to start the season but entering the playoffs I actually thought they would struggle. They beat Celtics quite comfortably there, of all teams they faced arguably Memphis proved to be the biggest challenge and could have taken it to 7 with a bit of luck (though Warriors were also performing the worst in those series). It really elevated Curry to another level, aside from Wiggins and occasional performance from Poole he didn’t really get much support on offense as Klay was mostly awful.

Plenty of talk about Blazers wanting to trade 7th pick for 12th and Dort. I reckon this could be in play, Thunder seem to want Sharpe who could well still be available with no. 7 while Blazers would get Dort and would then trade 12th pick for Grant. Thunder may not want to pay Dort if they don’t feel like they will be trying to compete for the next 3-4 years as he will have to get paid next year.

Capela, Collins and 16th pick seems to be the deal for Gobert mostly talked about, which would basically turn Jazz into Hawks in the West, except with a worse ball dominant guard. I don’t think Jazz will accept that, they will look out for a better offer.

He does. Similar to Stephen A Smith. They all just play characters but people take what they say far too seriously. They should just be ignored.

I have it as:

  1. Jordan
  2. Kareem/Lebron
  3. Lebron/Kareem
  4. Russell
  5. Magic
  6. Bird
  7. Shaq
  8. Duncan
  9. Wilt
  10. Olajuwan
  11. Curry/Kobe
  12. Kobe/Curry

I don't think either Curry or Kobe displace any of the top ten yet, but in my opinion, Steph is right at the doorstep. There's already an argument for him being at the bottom of the top 10 - even though I personally don't think it's a strong one yet - and another title or MVP puts him comfortably in there.

The Curry Vs Kobe debate is always going to rage on, and those who advocate for Kobe will cite his defense as a factor.

The statistical edge goes to Curry, but the argument in Kobe's favor is that he played a good portion of his career before hand checking was removed (and played all but the very last season before the new freedom of movement interpretation came into effect). I still don't buy into it as much as some do. We have seen Kobe's contemporaries (LeBron, Wade, McGrady) have better statistical outputs in the same time that he played.

A quick comparison:

Statistically, it isn't really all that competitive. Curry outperforms Kobe in almost every advanced non-cumulative metric. You could argue that Curry benefits from the relatively friendly defensive rules, and that 2 of Curry's 4 titles don't carry as much weight as Kobe's first 3 rings with Shaw since the early 2000s Lakers wasn't quite as dominant or as stacked as the 2017-2019 Warriors were.

If he gets another title, I don't see how Curry doesn't supplant Kobe on the all time list, assuming he hasn't already. Moreover, if Curry does so while winning another FMVP, he'll have a good argument for a top 6 or 7 spot.
