Imagine being ETH, recently taken on a job at a massive club in need of a rebuild and then this nonsense surfaces, absolute circus of a club and fan base.
Part of the issue is that our fans keep acting like we are a small club. ETH came from Ajax. He has a lot to prove himself. Do you expect Zidane to be that embarrassed about Perez and his comments? For some reason, our fans forget how big we are. We have the largest fan base in world football. Any manager or player should be grateful playing for us not the other way round( well except maybe Ronaldo). We turned Jesse Lingard into a name people know outside football. Harry Maguire is probably the biggest meme in football at the moment due to our size. We give players more exposure than any other club and are not as flaky as our biggest club rivals in terms of player/manager support ( Barca/Madrid/Bayern). There is a lot to love about United and even though we are experiencing a rough patch, that should not change those things.

This fellas synopsis is a bit different. The fans there can’t even agree. One says Richie was “scripted”, the other says he was “honest and open”.
What’s going on with the guy on the far lefts hair?!! Looks like some sort of low rent Marge Simpson tribute.

Someone does something genuinely cool like this and a person needs to put it online which is a betrayal. Good luck ever seeing a prominent figure do it again.

Out of order for sure but scum? You know who the real scum is? The Glazers mate. 500m debt. 1 billion servicing it. Have a bit of perspective here.
The feck is Arnold gotta to do with Glazers?
Insane fans turning up at Arnold's house need to have a bit of perspective here.

The Philosophy.
Richard Arnold showing his people leadership skills, managed to turn a protest at his family home into a Sunday afternoon at the pub with the lads and came across empathetic whilst communicating his strategy for the club amongst other things already well briefed to the media.

I think these lads should tell us their Caf names. I bet one or two of them is on here moaning that Arnold is down the pub drinking rather than out signing players

Guarantee you he's logging that round of drinks as a business expense.

Going to be awkward when we've maxed our bid for De Jong and we're £20 short of Barca's asking price.

So basically its a bunch of dads meetup that hate each other online but when they physically see each other, they got told "you want to protest about the Glazers? go meet him yourself". So they respect each other for coming and fangirling Arnold and some bullshit like that then walked away satisfied eventhough the main goal was not achieved at all. A great way to shut them up for a while. Richard Arnold is a genius.

This guy is full of shite. Can't stick to a script.
One thing all these protest guys have in common is they obviously all fell out of the stupid tree, and from quite a height.

And when I say protest guys I mean these 12 mugs in the pub who are all posting a mess of videos, dodgy quotes and drivel, not protestors in general.

Wonderful. Arnold is genuinely trying to make a connection with the fans and he gets filmed and roasted on social media. Why on earth would he try again in the future? These idiots who call themselves United fans never even wanted to properly engage in the first place. They just wanted to light him up.

On one hand you say the club doesn’t communicate. On the other, when they try to do so, you burn the privacy. Feck off. I bet none of those geezers have ever worked in a corporate estabLishment. You can be part of an organisation and not stand for the management’s values! You can want change. You have to be smart and survive. Then when you get power, effect change. The Glazers will now want to replace him with a loyalist. Arnold doesn’t seem like one. But the idiots who recorded this have ensured we may never see communication like this from Arnold again.

I don’t want to hear the “ohh! Let’s not applaud him for doing the bare minimum! He is a Glazer puppet!” Cmon you fecking idiots! You cannot turnaround a ship that fast! It takes time. Congrats “United Fans”, you may have just doomed this rebel’s cause. Can you imagine the corporate risk he’s taken for this? Can you imagine how the Glazers will react to this? What a mess.

Agreed. We don't deserve good things. Pathetic fans. Wanted their 15 minutes of fame.

Our fans shouldn't be planning to go to anybody's home. It crosses the line. Go and protest outside of Old Trafford. Doing that targets people's family that has nothing to do with what is happening at the club. It's not fair.

Arnold talks well, but that's all it is. Action speak louder than words. Sort this squad out and you will get a tonne of praise from the fans. I'm pretty sure he would have known he'd be recorded. At the very least, he'd know they'd go online and tell people what he'd said to them.

what i take from this is that we are now paying the price of a bad CEO/administration. A billion pounds has been spaffed up a wall for nothing. That billion is not still in this squad and was a wasted billion which likely has a cascading effect because every season we are trying to fix mistakes, not build for a future. He's also right that if you want a new stadium, as an example, then where do fans think that money comes from? It's either more debt, or sponsors. We aren't a shady state-petro funded club.

It all comes back to woodward. He has sent us into a freefall decline and every season is about repairing the damage and problems of the previous season. When that becomes the sole focus, year-on-year, are any of us surprised that the stadium, sports science, facilities are suffering? The whole club needs a fresh approach, i kind of think Arnold is suggesting this is being attempted but its a work in progress.

The good thing with us is that this can change very quickly with good football and competing again. Or fanbase hasn't diminished much and our commercial pull is still there. We have good players, we just don't have a good team. That can change

Its just stupid. As much as we hate Woodward, it wasn't right to turn up at his home and burn the front gates. Criminals.

It all comes back to the Glazers. They're not fit to own this club, never had the money to own a club like United. Saddled it with enormous debt, took out tons of dividends, wasted tons of money on loan interests and when the only thing that kept them in business - SAF - quit, they got exposed for what they are - clueless people that aren't fit to run a football club of this stature.
They don't care or understand the sport, don't care how the team plays, what is an offside, is the ball round, egg shaped or a triangle. How are these people supposed to hire people that will do the job well? By accident, at best. But as the last decade has showed, they can't even stumble onto a successful hire. Everything they touch fecking melts.
Untied is an investment they can milk and ultimately sell when/if some sort of supreleague is formed and we hit the growth ceiling.

The only way things are going to be fixed is when these parasites sell the club. Roll the dice on new owners.

The only way to force real change is to harm the club unfortunately.

And no they aren't as bad as each other. No Utd fan has done anywhere near the damage that the Glazers have done to this club. Don't be so ridiculous
Why do people keep shouting this myth? No it isn’t. Why would anyone decent want to buy a club who’s fans keep harming its financial marketability? All you’re doing is ensuring Manchester United loses its standing based on its fame and success under Fergie, with no way left to try to buy our way back to relevancy.
Maybe some fans will be happy when we’re decidedly mid table with no sponsors and the Glazers finally feck off but I certainly won’t be.

He’s not naive to not expect any of this to get out.
Exactly. He wants the fans onside. I’m sure the glazers do too. It’s not outlandish to suggest that they knew he was going to meet the fans and stuff would leak out. It’s far better PR saying “ we know we’ve been shit but it’s going to get better” than remaining silent and aloof while the world rages against you. The only reason these interactions happen is because of fan pressure. Anyone suggesting otherwise is in denial.

Massive respect to the guy or doing that, he could have just called the old bill when they turned up at his door like most would do.

It's not his fault his predecessor wasted a billion, but it's only natural he gets caught in the crossfire when his employers allowed his predecessor blow a billion.

Also his stance on protestors is a little weird, money men are going to invest regardless because we're a money making machine, though to protest outside a new employees house is beyond stupid.

And the players having their confidence shot? Then we need players with better characters, if you're going to out in piss poor performances you can't expect fans to be cheering you every week - they have been cheering mediocrity for the 9 years prior in fairness, at some point cheering shite won't be an option because fans have had enough, similar to Arnold and Woodward, the newer players have caught the flack of the previous ones, but they need to show some character to perform and earn their ridiculous wages.

Still though, can only praise Arnold for his actions here, its a bit of a shame us that the fans that got to have that interaction with him were the knuckle dragging type.

The dream is some mythical event that’s going to happen that will turn the club over into the hands of the fans for free.
Shame people forget the club was a plc and the fans didn’t put their money into the club on mass, as had that happened no way would the Glazers now own the club.
