Nah, its a bit of an honour slot that. First proper performance of the whole festival and its absolutely heaving.

I had to return my return my ticket this year as I'm moving house the weekend it is on. Pretty gutted after a couple of years wait

It's been a few years since I went so can't remember that being the case, but makes more sense, I swear the only 'act' I remember seeing that early on a Friday was Rolf Harris :nervous:

Gah, would love to go with that lineup. Just scrolling through, but I'd love to see Sam Fender, Wolf Alice (damn, jealous), Haim, Kendrick Lamar, Foals, St Vincent, The Libertines (daaaamn), Skunk Anansie (seen them before and they were great), Bonobo, Fontaines DC, Jesus and Mary Chain, Ghetts, Just Mustard.

Only been once, and that was about 10 years ago. The dates just magically seemed to line up when I wasn't working. Would love to go again this year.

Yeah, I'll be there... it's been a long old wait this. I can already see there is going to be a lot of annoying clashes... but I'll have a great time whatever choices I end up making.

Just recently bought all my camping gear, big cool box, and a heavy duty trolley. Almost all set to go now and counting down the days.

Can't recommend Joy Anonymous on the Sunday night at 1am enough. Will be a triumphant end to the festival.

Also highly recommend Confidence Man on Friday and Katy J Pearson.

Getting proper excited for this now!

Been waiting years for this, missed it the last few years alot, strange to ever think I'd miss something as trivial as a festival.

New tent has been purchased to replace the one that got trashed last time out :lol:

Weather is looking good too so far ...

Just saw Paul McCartney in Baltimore last week and I was stunned at how someone who is 80 can play for 2 hours and 45 minutes. It was fantastic but I am so happy he will get to headline a show like Glastonbury where he will get the response he deserved. In the states, the floor seats are full of folks willing to pay over $1,000 a ticket and it was just kind of a stale audience.

I absolutely love The Beatles and this is surely my only chance to see any of them live... but Paul's 80. Is he actually worth seeing? I've assumed that I'll have more fun with The Avalanches or even Jamie T.

Having this dilemma currently.

Have no interest in seeing McCartney, but it could be historic.
However Jamie T and possibly the Avalanches are already down on my line up.

I think I might have to visit the pyramid stage briefly before ambling across to another stage,

The other stage on the Friday is a bit of me crikey.

Would love to hear Gallagher into McCartney, my favorite and my dad's favorite playing after each other would be so good for personal reasons more than anything else plus potentially they could do a song together maybe.

Also if they can record the Carl Cox B2B Chase and Status set and put it out somewhere well that person would be a saint in my eyes

I've no excuse really, I live a half-hour away from the festival site. By the time I ever get round to checking the lineup the tickets are long gone. The only time I ever felt like I missed out was the Metallica headline set, that said I sat with the patio doors open and could just hear it anyway.

I shunned that set in favour of Mogwai headlining the Other Stage. I regret nothing.

He was great. His voice certainly isn't what it used to be but if you are into his music at all, I think you would kick yourself for not seeing him.

I'll be there. Still working tomorrow, in theory anyway. Looking forward to Libs opening up on Friday and Squid. Otherwise mostly in it for the electronic music.

Third time for me and I still won't have seen a Pyramid headliner.

Wednesday, getting down there as early as possible,
Last couple of times I've been I went Thursday evening and struggled to find a decent spot.

Will varley is well worth a watch, he's playing a small set Friday 3pm on the west field. He's acoustic folksy singer songwriter, quite political.
Girl in red is pretty awesome.
The Mariachis are playing the acoustic stage Friday about 3.30 which will be a good crack I'm sure.
Penelope Isles are worth a look too.

Most artists I really want to see are playing the Friday.
I'm going to spend my Saturday wandering I think and see where the music takes me.

You got your eye on anyone in particular?

Best place on earth. Hope you all have fun who are going. I have graced the sacred fields many a time and it's always the highlight of the year.

Bluedot is a good little festival, especially if you like electronic music and space / science.

Tiny compared to glasto though, glasto is where it’s at. Not been since 2009 and would have loved to go this year.

Are you going to glasto?

Genuinely don’t know what the fuss is about this festival anymore. Just lives off its name. What’s Billie Eilish doing occupying a headline spot with her grand total of two albums?
And yeah I get Paul McCartney is a Beattle but he’s 100 years old.
Eavis and co are just half arsing the bookings now because they know people will buy tickets and then pretend the line up is great regardless. If you look at some of the line ups in the mid noughties it’s on a completely different level to the recent ones.
Also not sure why people talk of the giant size of Glastonbury as an emphatically good thing. I found it really annoying when I went because it meant stages were too far apart and i ended up missing half the slot of the acts I wanted to see.

I want to see McCartney because I'm a massive Beatles fan. Few others I missed over the years like Primal Scream. Herby Hancock would be good but disappointed he's on the pyramid, reckon he would have been good on one of the smaller stages. Arlo Parks I've been told is worth a watch. Amyl and the Sniffers at John Peel I want to see, heard theyre worth catching. Other than that I am wandering. Have some dried "shitake" with me so will just have some "lunch" and then float for a few hours most days...
