Yeah, it was great. Vastly superior to Hustle. Which is passable entertainment but nothing special. The big Spanish lad can’t act for shit. Which isn’t ideal considering he’s at the centre of everything. Plus it’s all incredibly predictable.

Adam Sandler is excellent in straight roles though. So watchable. Without him this movie would be kind of shite.
Well he is not an actor, he plays for Utah Jazz in real life.

Watchable for the basketball scenes, which are well done. Story line is standard formula, with some cheese on top. But why would somebody used to hustling on the street be thrown off by trash talk?

Well I’m glad he has an alternative career because he’ll never make it as an actor!
I’m glad they did get actual NBA players though, even if the acting wasn’t the best, because at least they looked legit playing basketball.

I also watched Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty recently, really good show. But they got actual actors to play NBA players and tried to make it look like they could play ball and it looked absolutely TERRIBLE in comparison to Hustle.

Yeah, I was thinking that. I’ve zero interest in NBA but was imagining what a similar show would look like involving football (soccer). Shit acting would be less of a problem than shit sports scenes.

Although wasn’t the guy who trash talked him not a pro? At the end he was the only one who didn’t get a “playing himself” credit.

Think that was Anthony Edwards, another NBA pro

He was easily better than rhe guys he hustles on the streets so it doesn't bother him as much. Besides if he fails, at most he's gonna lose a few bucks.
But at the combine, he's playing with people at his level at a much higher stakes.

Finally watched this yesterday, entertaining as an NBA fan but nothing special. I even missed a few of the cameos which they showed in the credits afterwards.

Anthony Edwards is so great though

The hubie Halloween thing and the cruise thing with Aniston were both fun watches.

I agree with the uncut gems being shit. Just people shouting over each other all film. Proper dogshit.

Hustle was alright, nothing special though.
WTF
