One console has its second iteration of a VR headset coming out soon.... That's innovation and deserves to be recognised as such. Pity XBox bottled it and changed course but I get why they did it, to concentrate on their first party. Hopefully we start seeing the fruits....... soon?
Thank god we have Meta driving our industry forward in that case

Oh sorry.

I thought we were playing a game where you bring irrelevant opinions and misrepresent them after you mentioned Project Spark and Kinect 2.0 for the 50th time 9 years later.
Oh sorry. I thought we were playing your usual game of not answering posts then getting butthurt when you are rebuffed.

Ironic I've made more actual posts about Xbox games than you over the past two pages, but you continue to try to nibble ;)

The post you said I dodged you didn't even ask a question. What do you want me to answer and I'll answer it.

The majority of times you ask me questions they are leading and loaded, and you misrepresent my starting point. Gets tiring.

I'd be very careful about bringing Meta up if I were you.

You never know.
What about them?

If VR ends up on Xbox there's every chance its Oculus I know that.

No. At least not in my case, unless you've missed me talk about TW3 before. And what you find "funny" is what people did about the reactions to CP too, what I find "funny" is the same justifications before it is released. All that's missing is people doubling down after release and still arguing "it's a good game!" (let's hope that's not the case here, let's hope this fares much better!)

And again I'll point out, just because there's been missteps in the past, why does that mean we should accept them in the future?

Dude no PlayStation spin on this thread. You wat to talk about PlayStation VR go to the PlayStation thread. You want to talk about the difference between PlayStation and Xbox go to that thread.
I should be surprised that the mods haven't pulled you up but I'm not.

That's you being your usual boring self rather than anything being loaded.

I'm talking about games, you are trying to score petty points. It's that simple.

Hmmm, I often wonder. I mean we know MS don't like Valve (even though they should probably worship them and should have definitely joined them rather than continue with the ever trash MS store), but I think there's places other than Meta. But the rebranding thing is clearly tempting for them should they relent.

Look at you. Dodging my question about where I've dodged your question, and asking me whatever it is you want to know. ;)

They might just support multiple VR Headsets and then have curated VR library through Xbox store. Can't imagine them developing their own, so Oculus would make sense and we have seen some MS/Meta collaborations around gaming previously.

No doubt you will get VR games on Gamepass at some point too. Might be another 5+ years away mind.

Todd Howard on Starfield's '1000 planets'

https://www.ign.com/articles/starfi...ted-content-todd-howard-procedural-generation
  • 4 large cities - 1 being the largest they have ever done
  • More handcrafted elements than ever before, with over 200,000 lines of dialogue
  • For those who want carefully curated journey following main questline and larger side quests, you'll get the experience you expect from Bethesda and can ignore the procedurally generated 1000 planets
  • If somebody is interested in just going and exploring a random place which offers some random gameplay encounters and smaller side quests, that's what it's there for
  • Procedurally generated areas to fill the game out isn't new to them, and was a big part of the world people played in the likes of Skyrim

So, exactly what was expected really. Huge scale of random areas to explore for those who want that, but a tighter experience that is more fleshed out with lived-in cities for those that aren't interested.

Unsurprisingly he confirmed that Fallout 5 is after The Elder Scrolls 6, so we should see it on the Series X2.

Also, though the game has been nicknamed 'No Mans Skyrim', Starfield differs in that you can't seamlessly land on planets.

Todd Howard has said that Starfield won't allow you to fly seamlessly from space to its 1,000 explorable planets, saying the feature is "really just not that important to the player" to justify the engineering work involved.

"People have asked, ‘Can you fly the ship straight down to the planet?’ No. We decided early in the project that the on-surface is one reality, and then when you’re in space it’s another reality."

And plenty of open space for to build content of their own.

I think more likely is Obsidian taking on Fallout New Vegas 2 after Avowed launches.

Thinking about it, won't they be all hands on deck for The Outer Worlds 2 assuming it'll be expanded from the original?
They're a bit like Insomniac in that they're usually pretty efficient and working across multiple projects, with shorter windows than others - at least, they were before Microsoft bought them  . Avowed was supposedly in development since 2018, and we've got Grounded and Pentiment.

Either way, could see them doing The Outer Worlds 2 and New Vegas 2 before Bethesda touch Fallout 5.

Would expect this yes. I'm generally surprised Michaelsoft agreed to publish both Outer Worlds 2 and Starfield as given the similarities it seems a little redundant
They like to be hands off with studios so if TOW2 was something they really wanted to do, Microsoft weren't going to say no.

Starfield looks like shit so they'll need TOW2 to pick up the slack

Thought Flintlock looked like it had potential. One to keep an eye on.

That's a shame. Hope it doesn't affect the immersion.

Annnnd it's demons again. Does look like it might be fun though. Looks like it'll heavily depend on whether they can keep the fighting interesting.

Has anyone played Citizen Sleeper yet? Yet another game I wasn’t particularly thrilled about when the news came out it’d be joining Game Pass and I basically spent most of the day playing it today after giving it a try.

Yeah they realised that everybody had given up on their cash cow ultimate team and decided to pour the resources into career mode instead :)
Feck sake. It's a sad state of affairs when the gameplay is an afterthought.

I have space in my entertainment system for an XBox or.... something? I'm not happy about the first party situation and I don't have a lot of time to play c-tier stuff (sorry @Alock1). Sell me on it someone, or on something else that should take that space instead....

Nah we're alright ta.

You should get something else.

You like walking simulators so maybe get a peloton treadmill. Then you won't need to buy any more playstation exclusives.

I'm guessing you have other consoles?
I wouldn't bother if you did, there might come a point where starfield or whatever makes it worthwhile but its being carried by 3rd party at the moment and if you have access to them from elsewhere its a waste of time isn't it?
Get a switch, it already has a good library of first party stuff. You wont be able to pick them up elsewhere
