What has been posted suggests in any way that it's off?
The facts its taking this long, a few posts about 'walking away' and the Eriksen interest. I'm not on here 24/7 so I'm not up to speed with the latest developments. Though If I'm wrong in being skeptical this will happen then all good. We desperately need to fix the midfield.

Eriksen is said to be an independent transfer to this as it has been circulated everywhere.

There's a fair bit of nonsense in this thread and a number of the walking away posts are piss-takes of earlier posts because the deal looks to be very close now. A better bet would be the transfer tweets feed than this thread if your looking for updates. The OP won't do threadmarks or title updates unfortunately. A dereliction of duty if you ask me.

This is the latest:

The talk is this will be wrapped up for July 1st. I know everyone wants him in for Monday but any of our lads who played internationals aren't back for another 2 weeks anyway

@MUFCScoop: Manchester United have rejected Barcelona's attempt to sign Harry Maguire as part of a deal to bring Frenkie de Jong to Old Trafford. [@SunMartinB] #MUFC

I do remember there used to be transfer thread updates on players in the past. I'll keep tabs on that transfer thread instead. Thanks :)

De Jong for 60m euro net the Andreas sale would be a huge step in the right direction. Would be a great start to our season.

Yeah certainly would, gives me renewed hope of maybe being able to get similar fees for a couple of other players.

Anyone still arguing that fans should be patient and “deals take time” needs a reality check.

no one thinks we just call Barcelona and offer them the cash and it’s done. The underlying point is that the club are atrocious at rebuilding. Went half in with RR and wasted half a season, destroying morale and getting the fans all whipped up. Hiring an interim Boss with a consultant role was for one purpose only - to allow us to plan, appoint a new manager early, to get a head start on a summer rebuild(which means outgoings as well as incomings sorted early) and having the gaffer in place with a trimmed down squad and fresh new faces to the pre season tour. The consultant would then inform work behind the scenes revitalising things likethe scouting, youth passage into the first team etc. Don’t forget we wrote off our season in December and skipped a transfer window all so we could get the jump on other clubs this summer and be all set by August. How’s that working out?

We continue to make a balls of things season after season and I would be interested to know one reason why any fan would be patient? What have the club done to warrant that type of faith?
Oh come on. Give it a chance ffs. They’ve made a few good changes and are working on transfers. Just be patient and see what happens. What’s the point in otherwise ? Just going to make you miserable.

I’ve been miserable since we lost to Leicester and the lack of signings isn’t helping. On the plus side, half the squad has left.

That's a feckin steal. That price can't be right.
It's similar to what Romano reported and Telegraph reported £69M with add ons included. Looks like this is getting close and will probably be a done deal by the end of the week.

Yeah but I thought the basic figure would be higher, unless the add-ons are very easily achieved.
Would expect that's probably been a difficult thing to agree on. Barca wanting easily achievable ones and Utd wanting to make sure they're ones that ensure if he triggers them it's because he and the team have done amazingly well. Probably a mix of some of the latter and some of the former.

That Maguire stuff is utter shite, Blackburn is a terrible journo for transfers
But if true why would we reject an offer like that? Could have reduce the De Jong fee too
