I kid you not as it seems to be his preferred shirt number.
I would genuinely lose my shit if we get our 21th in his first season
Anything is possible. If we get a good start, the confidence is flowing, the toxicity is long gone - who's to say we can't compete again?

If we can get Eriksen and Antony on top of FdJ/Malacia I think our depth is looking pretty decent. Could do with another striker but Ronaldo and potentially a fit/motivated Martial could carry the burden.

I genuinely do think under proper management this squad will look so much better. At times we just looked lost on the pitch, that's what I hope for more than anything. The difference between us and City is they don't get rattled when things aren't going well. They keep to their patterns, they increase the tempo and break the will of the opposition. We under Ole/Rangnick just seemed to throw everything out of the window, chuck the ball forward as quick as possible and hope a cross will find it's mark. Defensive shape especially just seemed to disappear.

I think top 3 would be the aim for this year, try to get as close to Pool/City as we can. I'd like to see us try to win a domestic cup this year, and obviously win Europa League if possible. Once we get that feeling of winning/competing back into some of these players we will take off again i'm sure of it.

Unfortunately I just don't see it as even though I rate ten hag extremely highly the gap between us and the top dogs has widened too much and as of now our goals are probably to compete with Arsenal and Tottenham.

In the end football is extremely unpredictable so who knows where we're gonna end up in a year's time.

Hopefully now we can get about signing the other 6 players we need to make us have a genuine chance to do something this season. Martinez next would be a good starting point.
The sooner you get it into your noggin that this season is about getting things moving in the right direction, getting a style and philosophy into the team and club in general and less about chasing trophies this season.. the more chance you have of not being a disappointed moaner later in the season. If we happen to win a cup this year it’s a welcome bonus not an expectation

congratulations - you've fallen for the tory-style b/s pumped out by the Glazers, Woodward and Ole. maybe we should be grateful not to get relegated... the very least I expect from the biggest club in the world is to challenge for things. to do so we need to play good, exciting football. otherwise we might as well settle for the dross from last year right now

Ah we've arrived at that boring stage where you know a transfer is in the bag and you're just waiting for official confirmation so you can start obsessing over the next target.
or, given our history, the whole thin falls apart :)

PS the smily face emoji means I'm joking before anyone decides on a pile on...

I already started. I gave them a pm, some responded maturely, others didn’t
I mean I don't like the whining either but what's wrong with people expressing their frustration?
Freedom of speech and all that.

The club giving the manager Erik Ten Hag what he wants. No excuses he's getting backed.

Load of absolute toss this post. It’s common bloody sense in a rebuild. You don’t just chuck s few new players in and think they got the ground running to win trophies. Jesus. Talk about expectations. They’re on a hiding to nothing with you

Freedom of speech and all that.
First of all it’s a private board not a public one, so you’re all here as guests. Which means follow our rules.
Secondly there is constructive criticism and there is outright babyish whining which has increased the toxicity on the board during this transfer window. Transfer windows are usually fun. They’ve sucked the life out of this one. As a result some of them have already been removed for the sake of posters who dont want to listen to that repeatedly, whilst others are on a watchlist

Did i say win trophies? Did I say win anything? No, I did not. But if you are happy being knocked out of the Europa by a part-time team from Turkey and Boreham Wood in the FA Cup, well fine. But I want to be entertained again and at least go deep in the cup competitions. An improvement in goals scored/conceded would be nice too as would not being 13 points off the top four. Not too much to ask for, is it?

Oh, and by the way... what number rebuild is this now?

Are they?

Can't say I agree, pretty much every summer I can remember, on whatever forum i have used, there has been some transfer saga that has dragged on and caused this exact same reaction. Probably exacerbated by the awful season Utd had last season to be fair.

Transfers window is always a screech of BUYBUYBUBUY, player bought, 2 days later BUYBUYBUYBUY WHEREISTHEAMBITION.

Henderson not left yet :wenger:
still think this is crazy unless it's only on loan. What the hell happens if DDG gets injured or has one of his poor seasons? If Hendo has a blinding season at (presumably) Newcastle, he should get a chance with us in 2023-24

Now my turn, where dud I say get knocked out by minnows?
My expectation is to see a style develop this season, that the players all buy in, and that things like goals scored/goals conceded all improve significantly. But it will take time which is why I say that a trophy is a bonus not an expectation.

by the way I dont care which rebuild we are on, this to me feels like the start of something real, the team all seem to know what they want and how to get there. So excuse me for being more excited that I was for moyes, Lvg, Jose, ole and Ralph
