Absolutely.

The trouble with our fans is that the moronic, whingy ones are the most vocal. They collectively drown out saner voices.
That's because they are the majority. To be fair not many people become football fans because they want to engage in reasoned logical discussion. On that basis you would quickly conclude the whole thing is a pointless exercise in monkey brained tribalism, as opposed to a very enjoyable exercise in monkey brained tribalism

Fans "are" customers to the club. Being a fan doesn't imply being a zombie and eating everything the club throws. It's about challenging bad decisions and ensuring the club doesn't go astray (like with super league for eg). Fans will support managers if they show they are helping the club move in the right direction.

Apple customers are driven by mass paranoia because they feel they are buying the best product & are part of the elite cult. Something else comes out tomorrow, they'll vanish in an instant without trace. We've seen that with Blackberry, HTC and Nokia in the past? United fans, at least many who are sour here at the CAF, are still sticking by after a decade of being crap - spending their hard earned money on tickets and merchandise that helps the club. That should show for something.
I think you have missed the point. We are not saying you cannot grumble, but to have some realism in the way you grumble. But the way you guys grumble is like you have already determined it is a lost cause with no basis for your judgment except emotions.

Another problem is that the "fans" here are always grumbling and act more like stakeholders who bought a million dollar stock in the club rather than fans. I remember how so many of those "fans" were waiting for a draw or loss just to highlight why Ole should not be in the job, simply because he wasn't a manager that is named Pep or Klopp. There are times I get frustrated with the performances, but I am always back with optimism for the next match while these "fans" are always writing posts about how the club is going to be doomed after just one negative result. You just need to take a look at McTominay, Rashford performance threads as well as the "have we signed anyone yet" thread to see what this is all about.

On your last point about spending hard earned money on tickets and merchandise, I can assure you that the "fans" that are grumbling day in and day out are certainly not ticket holders nor are they avid merchandise purchasers. Cos most of those fans who are ticket holders were still supporting Ole even when he was sacked, chanting "Thank you Ole". Not these "fans" here for sure.

I remember a LvG cup game against MKDons where we lost 4-0. He looked horrified.

After that we played a safer possession style game that we could not pull off. Well, we did sometimes, but not consistently. Not enough creativity in the team.

It did not help that when we were top of the table in 2015/16, fans were extremely critical and unsupportive because the football was slow and boring. Things we nt to shit soon after.

Let‘s not repeat that error, but support the team in good and bad times. Otherwise it may not matter who the coach is.

I will literally cry if he’s first choice this season
You might have to ban yourself from the Lindelof thread if he ends up being first choice, I'm not sure I can take another season of being told how good he is when my opinion greatly differs

My only hope is that EtH seems to like aggressive defenders - DeLigt, Timber, Martinez
Hopefully he’ll see through the gorgeous haired fraud

Unless we either sign a CB or Varane miraculously stops being a crock*, he will definitely be first choice much of the time.

* or Bailly and/or Axel suddenly become reliable. Or McTominay is allowed to play in his international position. Or Shaw and/or AWB get converted to CBs.

Yeah, he’s going to be first choice. Have a hanky ready…

As expected really. Why he has been my dream appointment for ages now. We've needed a proper coach for a while, and we have that now. Even with no transfers, ten hag alone will be an enormous improvement for us.

Will be some teething issues of course, but the impact should be immediate.

Mental it took us so long to hire someone who's remit was more than "I want X player"

Well said! Every time, when I come here to read those very “strong” opinions about our players, coaches, managers, I need to take a deep breath. But still, might be affected a bit negatively sometimes.

Delighted the players are finally getting some proper coaching, they really have new excuses now.
