Just a feeling on my behalf but I think that he wants to give the Brentford manager the respect of hearing it from his own mouth that he’s chosen United to continue his career. He was on holiday till yesterday so hopefully the answer comes out soon
Or to confirm he wants to continue with the mighty, mighty Bees ;) - either way he has, according to Thomas Frank, said that he/we will be the first to know his decision when he makes it so agree with you on that perspective.

Fair play if he does. He has to do what he feels is best for him.

As far as I know, Eriksen's contract with Brentford (assuming he doesn't sign a new one) doesn't actually expire until 01 July, so he probably just thought he may as well use this time to ponder anyway.

It's be fairly unusual for a player to wait until the last day of being in a contract to decide.
Surely he'll know by now. It's just not been communicated out to the media.

If we play well enough to reach at least the semi-finals in the League Cup, the FA Cup and the Euro, plus the Premier League games, we will play around 60 games. Winning requires depth at every position!!

7 defenders, 7 midfielders, and 7 forwards received decent playing time with Liverpool. For City 7 defenders, 7 midfielders, 3 forwards had a decent amount of playing time. The clubs that are way in front of us have depth. Having Bruno and Erickson and DeJong on the same team is NOT a problem. The problem is relying too much on a single player.

I see similar discussions about our forwards. I hope we get Antony or someone else. There is room for 5 forwards, who can create and/or score goals, to play on the same team.

It's quite because he's the one to decide. There's no club discussions to leak out. Both clubs are offering him a deal and he has to choose. We won't get an update on this one till he decided and then one of the club's announces it.

I don't know what this means for Bruno or Donny, let alone Mejbri. But I assume this will at least elevate the professionalism of the dressing room.

When can we expect his decision? Contract expires tonight.

I would imagine if he were staying at Brentford, he'd have renewed the contract by now?

Contract expires tonight so we should expect his decision in another couple of weeks.

I don't know whether it has been mentioned, but he was spotted in his hometown in Denmark yesterday. He joined a training session for youngsters in his boyhood club.

He was interviewed about his surprise visit, and was asked about his future to which he smiled and replied: "I can't say anything about the future".

Source (in danish though)

Bit of a nothing story, but at least we now know where he is.

Kinda surprised with no confirmation on this one. Isn't he going to just be losing money if he hasn't signed his new contract by tomorrow? What's with the delay?

We are too temping to turn down instantly but if he comes to us he has to resettle completely. Not such an easy decision to make.

As of 9pm he still hasn’t made or at least confirmed his decision to Brentford on where he is going to end up. Still some time to run on this i think - I mean given what he has been through he May fancy missing out on some of the gruelling early pre-season training ;)

Wouldn't mind if he stayed at Brentford tbh. They took a chance with him and I'm sure he'd like to repay them for it, hope he does well whatever he chooses to do.

ETH let him train with Ajax prior to going to Brentford, so there's history there too.

But he trained with Jong Ajax not the first team so really how much did they get to know each other. Must have had some interaction but it’s not like they probably formed a huge bond imo.

Its all rather quiet with all our targets (Malacia, De Jong, Eriksen)
Are we looking to announce them all in one go?

You make a valid point which is proven more this season by the 5 sub rule, we will need a squad of 26/27. Three Goalkeepers, four full backs /wing backs, 5 Centre Backs as one is always injured, seven midfield options and seven striker options. The difference between 0 or 1 point and 3 points will be more dependent on clever and tactical substitutions when teams are getting tired in dying embers of games So we need, N D Jong, Fred, Mctominay, J Garner, Bruno, DVB and C Eriksen or Y Tielemans plus C Ronaldo, Rashford, Martial(give him to the Winter transfer), J Sancho, A Ellanga, Ganaucho, Antony.
if you consider what we had this season in terms of options and the 5 sub rule had been in place, I believe players would have got more playing time and less infighting in the locker room and probably 10 points more. The club still need to Replace N Matic, J Mata, P Pogba, , J Lingard and E Cavani. Last season we had the following options at the start of the season or so we thought anyway;
M Greenwood and J Sancho fighting for RW, Cavani as Ronaldo back at no 9 and M Rashford or A Martial fighting for left wing With Lingard, Bruno and Pogba all used in the previous season in the front three and exciting talents like A Ellanga, A Dialo , Ganaucho and Pellistri coming through some would say too many options.
For the record a team like Man united can never have too many options! We need to be able to bring 2 strikers on and Modfiejd creator in the last 20 minutes as teams get tired.
