What would a suitable offer be for a 38 year old with 1 year left and on £500k per week?
£10m?
free (?) Just to get him off the wage bill?

Who's gonna pay the wages he wants?
Psg won't want him
Barca are fecked
City won't want him
Maybe Chelsea?
Madrid? Triumphant return instead of mbappe?

Why hasn't this guy ever loved United? We gave him everything and showed him so much love.
He only cares about his records. He has never really cared about any club. It's shame there aren't any good strikers in the market anymore.

Don't see it given how Benzema performed last season personally. Would rock the boat on his status as the main man there now.

We were a worse team with him in it. He can piss off back to Sporting or MLS. He has to realize he is 38 this year and not in his prime so can't be centre of everything and not throw a hissy fit if let on the bench or subistuted.
I'm not sure of any team that would want him. Should of learning from Pogba not to bring back a player who left the club already. No longer a club legend, he can piss of.

Chelsea? Anyone believe that crap? Unbelievable. For his new team, the player wearing no.7 will surrender it. Good for them.

Id rather have a moody Ronaldo in our squad than a pumped up firing Ronaldo at Chelsea.

Honestly a great goal scorer, just like RvN was. When Ruud left we was all wondering where the goals would come from, but I believe we became a better team because we weren't reliant on one player scoring. I don't care that he wants to leave again, good luck to him in chasing his dreams. We need people who a willing to muck in now, not players looking for personal gains.

He’s completely undermined Ten Hag here and needs fecking off for that alone.

This leak could have been done weeks ago, not the day before he’s due to return back to training.

It shouldn't of even been leaked tbh. Nut then again this is Ronaldo, we've seen it all before from him.

If he wants to go. Just say ok . Forefit the rest of your contract and your free to sign elsewhere.

Ronaldo`s stunt is the last thing United needs now. After a night mare of a season with a lot of unrest and dissatisfaction in the player squad, we need stability. Ronaldo could have announced his wish long before now.

Swapping with lewa would be an absolute dream. Doubt it happens.

I think the man wants to go to spain.

But how about Gnabry?

Ronaldo has too much of an ego which is why I was surprised he came back. He must have known we weren’t in the same place we were when he left us. Take the easy option the same way Messi did.

Just ended Pogba & Lingard circus and this comes up.

For that kind of wages (biggest in football) it's hardly worth it.

The Caf is so duplicitous
95% of fans were delighted when he arrived here.

Ole fecked up the transition from counter attacking to the high press / 4-3-3. Was sacked, and rightly so.

The board / Arnold hired a mediocre director of football from the Russian league as the manager. He proceeded to put together the worst coaching staff ever assembled at Man United. Poor pre match prep, awful training sessions, dressing room mayhem, an openly critical manager and abysmal tactics.

Ten Hag hired in, we continue to bumble through transfers, trying to pry a once promising talent from Barca, depth at LB, depth at CB without addressing DM and RB (IMHO our greatest needs, and don’t tell me Frenkie is a DM, he’s not).

He lost a child.

The guy is 37 years old, he has a very compelling argument as the GOAT, he wants to extend his records in the CL, and he probably has 2 years of top football left. You bring a player like this in, there is a responsibility by the club to assemble a squad and coaching staff that can legitimately challenge for trophies. We’ve failed miserably.

You could argue that this was his worst season as a footballer ever. Ronaldo is certainly a record chaser, he can be a complete ass, he’s arrogant and self centered. But he has given this club great moments of joy over the years. If he wants to leave to further his legacy, I have no problem with that.

Swap him for Lewa and get Raphinha from Leeds.
Even without Raphinia that would be fantastic for us.
I love Ronaldo but it's not the end of the world if he leaves.
Getting a swap with Lewandowski would be absolutely incredible though.

Will he be dealing with a hip flexor in Portugal again or will he actually show up for preseason training, I wonder?

Where is the 'players in' thread gone? Honestly, Redcafe has to talk about something, and apparently Utd isn't working to assemble a team for the season.
So....it's been 'Ronaldo this' and 'Ronaldo that'.
What is this great new manager doing?

Uhh, that’s how it works when you have all time greats in your team. You go all out to win. Lakers did the same with Lebron by getting him AD. Tampa did it for Brady. If you have Ronaldo/Messi in your team, you have to be in win-now mode. Its how people like them work.

He threw himself at PSG but they preferred the other guy.

Because Ronaldo is a huge world star, would still score 30+ goals in a Bayern side and Lewandowski wants out. It's not difficult to figure out.
You think Bayern want to replace the best goalscorer on the planet with this version of Ronaldo after seeing his performances this year?

A couple of years ago, sure, but there's a reason CR7 landed in United IMO, it's because none of the other big teams that actually challenge for trophies wanted anything to do with him seriously. They might have considered it, but he's clearly not someone who is still at that level where the whole club needs to shift their philosophy to cater to him in order to challenge for trophies, he's just not capable of that consistently anymore, and for those wages he'll be hard pressed to find a team that's a genuine challenger on all fronts that will want him.

lewandowski wants to leave.

they need to replace him, ronaldo is next best option. if he can score 20pl goals he will score 30 in the bundesliga. Bayern will still win another title at a canter, so yes.

See, this, in a nutshell, is the problem with this club. We are arrogant enough to think we are still a top destination for top players.

Since SAF retired, the lack of leadership (fecking Glazers), the focus on money rather than trophies, poor choices in managers, poor transfer decisions, has led us to a point where we are no longer “special”. When you continuously fail to challenge for the league, miss out on CL football, you begin to lose one of the reasons top players wanted to be here. Yes, we have money, but at this point, that’s it. The mystique from the SAF years is in the rearview mirror. Now when we go shopping, we are limited to reluctant stars who want a payday or gambling on unproven talent (at this level).

The club does have a responsibility to put out the best team possible, with the best staff, and to challenge for trophies. If we’ve lost that, then the decline will continue because there is so much money in the PL now, the league just gets tougher. Hopefully Ten Hag can lead us back to where we belong.
