The tattoos aren't great but I don't get the hate for Jose on here.

The guy is passionate about what he does and is/was one of if not the very best around. He's found his new spiritual him at Roma by the sounds of it, their fans are pretty crazy and unbelievably passionate much like him, glad they've embraced eachother and I'd love to see him win the Scudetto together.
He's certainly passionate, and he was one of the best around, and I could be wrong about this, but I think the "hate" is about him being a massive dickhead.

Why some United fans want him to succeed at other clubs after the shitshow he put on here will always be a mystery to me.

Also, shit tattoo.

As a Chelsea fan who will forever have the image of a younger, suave looking Mourinho from his “I am a Special One” days seared into my mind, seeing this old, weathered version of Mou who looks like a disheveled hobo is so jarring.

Personally because I think the fans were wrong about the whole situation and backed the wrong horse. He wanted to raise ambition of the club and wanted to be backed, as we have done ever since. He wanted the moaning, entitled, half arsed players like Pogba and Martial gone, the club and fans protected them and they still plagued us until very recently (Martial to this day). This was arguably the moment for me when the players we're gifted the power of the club by Woodward and the supporters. Even if Jose went, an example should have been made over some players.

People laughed at him for apparently wanting to swap Perisic for Martial. Perisic just signed for Spurs after one of his best seasons to date and many good seasons at Inter. We can't give Martial away. Supporters will never admit it or just don't realise, but Jose was the only person involved with the club that knew what standards looked like. He was being dictated to by non football idiots, being told Martial was untouchable and apparently the Glazers saw him as our Pele, or some shit like that.

The club and fans let Jose down, not the other way around. He wasn't wrong even he said 2nd place with that team was an achievement. We've spent so much money since then and have a miles better than, yet we've not won a trophy or beat his best PL points total if I remember right.

Good for him. Every trophy is an achievement worth celebrating. He’s a winner wherever he’s been*

* Except Spurs, obviously

I’m surprised he didn’t get one of his greatest ever achievement. Finishing 2nd with Utd.

What's the issue? Hardly going to buy a nice pair of beige slacks, comfy loafers and drive off into the sunset is he?

In his head he’d already completed ‘the whole set’ back in 2004 when he won the CL with Porto, as he’d won the Europa league the year prior and the conference league wasn’t even a thing. Wonder what made his mind up this time.

Presumably wanted to boil the piss of Internet stalkers who can celebrate/deride it in equal measure

Mourinho the legend. So what if it looks kinda bad who cares! It’s hilarious and great, like the man himself.

So he got his decline tattooed on his arm, funny. I can see him adding the Serie B trophy soon.

Jeez, he really is desperate to show he was relevant at one point.

He really seems to be struggling with the fact he’s no longer considered amongst the elite coaches in the world.

The tears after winning the Europa league conference was cringe. I can’t imagine how emotional he’d get when his car passes it’s MOT.
Maybe it's worth perceiving in reverse; generally when people are at the top of their game and things come easily and regularly, they don't appreciate the achievements as they should. Perhaps because there's no reason to think things will ever be different, or maybe because life hasn't put a boot on their neck yet.

Mourinho experienced the highest of accolades and regard and was quite indifferent to it all, it seemed. Since then he's lost his status and contemporary relevance and has experienced some serious lows and humiliation along the way. He obviously wants to be the somebody he once was and he's received some of the euphoria he used to be able to bring to fanbases with his relative success at/for Roma.

From the outside in, it looks like football's version of a mid-life crisis, but I think it's understandable as the man feels he's not done with the game, whilst the game is almost certainly done with him at the very top level (unless there's an Indian summer somewhere in his future); he's been on a humbling journey. Can you imagine the disgust younger versions of him would have with what he is now?
