The issue for me was never about if he's going to score or not. He will score when he's fit. The only issue is how long will he maintain fitness for.

He will score a lot of goals for City this season, and they will be up there at the top again.
We need to get in a 25 goal a season CF before end of transfer window, as well as getting goals from others also.

He’ll never get past Utd’s famous impenetrable defence

He’s just scored against a Bayern Munich team that he’s use to playing against and knows how to play against them.. calm down! Let’s see what he does when he comes up against bus Parker’s and physical defenders in the prem. yes he’ll bang them goals in but he’ll find it a lot harder in a more physical league against defences that sometimes sit deep.

Might only score 30 then. Best finisher in the league. That Bayern team are arguably better than any Premier opposition

Sad thing is, I was talking to this 25 year old the other day, that said he always liked City because he grew up watching them play great football... So there is a new generation of football fans that grew up with this version of City, unfortunately.
This is exactly why I don't feel sorry that he won't be able to afford a house any time soon.

Yes but your missing the point. Bayern attack you and leave spaces open as does most of the teams in the bundesliga where as a lot of prem teams sit deep. A lot of haalands goals are where he runs onto it from a through ball but if he has no space to run onto it will be more difficult. But yes he’ll still probably hit 25+ goals.

When you're 2 goals down in 30 minutes, you're also going to be leaving plenty space to exploit. Man City are the most creative in the league - they're amazing at getting the break through, and then the game becomes easy for them.

So.......remember few years ago when we were morale winners? When we refused to enter release clause in his contract? Still think that we did right choice then?

He probably would've left us this summer if we did. And you probably would be here complaining about how stupid we were to include the release clause instead.

Spot on. He already has injury issues, with his size and explosiveness that’s unlikely to lessen. Add in increased physicality of the league compared to the Bundesliga and that’ll also have an effect.

Amazing goalscorer but there is a lot of Lukaku in him when it comes to general play.

Probably is the key word. Maybe he would. And maybe he would sign new contract without clause.

Meh. They were going to win the league without him in the team, and now, they will still win the league. Very little has changed from our perspective.

We're never winning the league for a few years anyway, Haaland pretty much guarantees Liverpool don't until we get our act together, I'd much rather City won the league than Liverpool.

By the time we remove our failing "stars" and add some quality that Ten Hag wants, Madrid will be in for Haaland and City can't stop it.

Arrogant cnut.
He’s 22, earns £375k a week, widely regarded as the next big thing in world football, plays for arguably one of the best sides in Europe

There’s bound to be some arrogance

his “Haaland Haaland” song does make me want too punch him repeatedly though, and it’s not even him singing it!

We should have signed him years ago but as he said, it was only solskjaer who truly wanted him

Yes it was still the right stance to make. Because this summer we would have been fuming because Real Madrid or Man City would have activated his release clause and we would have potentially developed Haaland into one of the worlds best players and lost him for the same money we bought AWB.

With Raiola as his agent till recently as well, we’d be in an absolute meltdown right now while being insulted that our rivals had just taken him from under our noses.

Signing him in the hope that he changes his contract and removes the clause later on was not a risk worth taking.

Is this really a worse scenario than the current one, with the main striker not turning up for pre-season?

Hindsight is beautiful. It doesn’t change the fact that if we had signed Haaland on the terms they wanted, right now we would very likely be losing Haaland against our will.

Yep. Harry Kane would be still my pick for best no9 in PL league
Depends if it takes him 3 months to get started again as it did last year. Certainly a better all round player than Haaland.

Best case scenario for the rest is that Haaland scores 40+ goals but makes the city attack a bit more one dimensional and predictable, leading to them scoring fewer as a team.
