Then we sign him cheaper and Martinez rockets in price? It was always the case of picking one to sign and gritting our teeth for the other.
I guess Goldbridge will never talk about our club being taken advantage of in the market again after this but I won’t hold my breath. Hypocrite.
There were multiple stories weeks ago along the lines of Antony and Martinez would cost 130m in total which seems like a bargain now.

Have Sevilla sold 6 players equaling over 100m before they sold Kounde?

The timing doesn’t alway have to be early but in this case when a club is selling multiple players there will be a point where they don’t want to sell anymore.
I don’t get what that has to do with us.

So you expect our club to monitor the outgoings of another club and make tactical decisions based on that?

I’m sure Ajax was well aware we wanted Antony and knew we would be coming for him. It’s up to them to make those financial arrangements not us.

Real Madrid chased De Gea all summer with no bid.. right at the end the submitted a fee what was acceptable for a keeper. We didn’t bump the price up to crazy amounts.. we just switched off the fax machine

Seriously though we need to stop defending the opposition in these situations. They knew Antony would have brought in their biggest exiting fee and he made it clear to them he wanted to go. Maybe they should of planned for his exit instead of blaming it on us.

Goldbridge is neither a United nor a Forest fan. He's a Ronaldo's fan. I guess he calls his wife Cristiano while in bed.
Probably because he's got a load of those last dance hoodies he needs to flog.... Ronaldo could probably curl one out on the pitch tell the fans to feck off and he would still love him.

I believe Antony was injured until a couple days ago. Also, pretty sure the initial idea was to focus on ETH’s main priority first but that was taking so long, they had to switch approaches.

If the forum banned anyone who likes Goldbridge we’d be in a better place
Good idea, let's make the redcafe like rawk. If we all don't share the same ideas ban the ones that oppose the forums admin and mods ideas.

The match day threads when you see our supporters completely go insane, being beyond negative is much worse than anything Goldbridge does.

I'm not a big fan of Goldbridge, but he's entitled to do what he does as much as the next person. He's certainly not a big or any problem with why United are the way they are right now.

He’s getting a right kicking tonight on Twitter - even by his standards he’s talking absolute bollocks

Why hes not wrong, it wouldn't have been 100 million in May or June this is a feck off price they don't need to sell. Oh yeah we had to wait 3 months for FDJ who isn't going to come that's right forgot.

Yes. He is wrong. Ajax have sold Gravenberch, Haller and Martinez of significance this summer. That’s it. The RB and GK were fecking free transfers. They were always going. Gravenberch had one year on his deal and was ALWAYS being sold. This was their plan. Brobbey and Bergwyn had been lined up so they had no issue selling Haller for a big fee off the back of an incredible season for him. At his age it was now or never at that money. They have never wanted to sell Antony or Martinez. Selling them wasn’t the plan this season. Whether we bid in fecking May or July they have 3 years on the deal and they don’t want to sell. We’ve got one by massively overpaying - if we want the other we’ll also have to massively overpay unless he aggressively forces a move. This “he was available for 40m back in May” argument is a made up fallacy by an utter plonker chasing dollar hits.

Agree with this but to me it also shows he cares. I've just tried to switch off United news when it became clear we're in for another clownfest summer.

The issue is that by now every club in Europe has learnt that ETH has only eyes for players who had played in the Dutch league. Thus they are exploiting it. Its ain't different to Ole and his British core

Unfortunately Goldie won't admit that because he is stuck I'm ETH's arse

He's always been insufferable. He just loves the attention.

If we signed Antony for 80m and he flopped in a year or twos time he'd be saying it was a joke spending all that on him. He's done this countless times. Such a bleeding hypocrite.

I can't watch him anymore. He's just poison. Spreads negativity for YouTube cash.

Sometimes i put him on for a minute just to hear how toxic he gets. I find it astounding he has followers with the pile of shit he talks.

I think he’s spot on?

The fee for Anthony at the end of may and in June wasn’t 100m. They don’t want/need to sell now this late in the window so have upped the price. If we didn’t realise this would happen then it’s worse than I feared, they are utterly clueless.
It was 80m in June. That's why he doesn't make sense. We obviously tried to negotiate it down but nope.

Plus his hero Ronaldo hadn't attempted to force his way out of the club at that stage which meant the need wasn't as pressing as it was in July.

Yes. The issue isn’t refusing to pay 80m for Antony or us being slow. The issue is he’s seemingly the only option and we don’t ever move on to other targets.

I'm glad he's getting called out for all his BS.

In May when we appointed ETH he said we have to be patient as this isn't a 1 or even 2 year fix. Season hasn't even started yet and he's having hissy fits all over.

He's an absolute joke.

I am his fan. There is a reason he has over 1.4m followers. More often than not he’s spots on his analysis and always spoke his mind even if it upsets or offends someone.

There are Pop stars who sell out arenas and can't even sing a note. Popularity doesn't mean he's spot on with what he says. Plenty of people who follow him are rival fans. You are aware of that right?

He contradicts himself all the time and just blocks people who call him out on his BS.

See the Poch / ETH debate for example.

Agreed. We need to move on from Antony. Unlike FDJ he's not hard to find a similar available talent for.

Yup "The Sun" is the most circulated newspaper in England as far as I'm aware and I don't think it's because it's full of quality journalism.

yes goldbridge milks it a bit for clicks and views all youtubers do. I don’t agree with everything he says at all, but at least he’ll call out the glazers an ask them to account for things, I’d rather have that than journalists Andy mitten or david orstein who refuse to ask the pertinent questions required. Debt balance sheets etc, I agree at present it looks like a bad window, but I don’t think that it’ll end that way. I refuse to believe we haven’t sought out the players we are looking at de jong Anthony etc. if you don’t like him just don’t watch him there’s plenty of cow tipping and Recipe videos for you to watch.

Yeah, he attracts a lot of fans who dont really know how the club operates. Most of these guys are from asia and are just angry that we arent operating like the globe trotters.

Hes almost never spot on. I think almost everything he says is wrong, inaccurate or hypocritical.

Are there anything to be positive about the current Manchester United? Its been 10 years since United last won the league. Its been 10 years since United last challenge for the league. Didn’t win anything in the last five years. Didn’t qualify for the champions league on 4 occasions since Fergie left. Last season was arguably the worst campaign of United history. Glad to see reality hit our fans. Never got as hyped off pre - season vs B teams or saying outlandish things like it's going to be hard for Ronaldo to earn his spot back. This is what blind positivity gets you. What Rangnick said all along was true. We need 10 new players. I can be coached by Usain Bolt's coach, but I wont become another Usain Bolt.

If it was up to Ricky then Mata and Matic would be starting every match, i like the guy but a tad naive in my opinion.
He has some outlandish opinions for sure. I agree with some of them, too. It’s the fact that he sees the game differently than everyone else who tries this United fan channel stuff I like. He’s very in depth on why he thinks what he does. It’s also cool that he’s been a United fan for as long as he has. He’s been through pretty much all of it. The fact that he seems like a genuinely nice guy is just the cherry on top!

there's a difference between negativity for negativity's sake and actual criticisms of the club. If you enjoy that, then all power to you. I don't and many others here don't seem to either.

He likes to pretend that hes a subject matter expert on all facets of coaching, playing style, conditioning and of course, transfers.

Also, Howsen had an absolute mare earlier.

He said Whitwell was not a real journalist and mugged him off. This is so thick considering Paddock rely on Athletic correspondents to give them a guest interviewon the show.

His streams are generally critical that’s for sure but from a United fans point of view again there’s been very little to get excited about on the field, it‘s hard to find many positives in all honesty.

Expect more critical streams this season because it looks like we’ll be struggling.

Goldbridge leverages sensation and I know he whines a lot about Utd but I sincerely don't understand why people here are making it out like he's an idiot wum. I think he's mostly right about his criticisms of our team and board. What would people prefer. We literally had our worst season last year since the start of the prem league, (worse than all the shit years since Moyes). Please respond and tell me what people would rather hear.

I haven't seen it so I don't have the context/the way he said it, but I think they're friends and Howson usually banters him as such.
