Looks an exciting player but people are saying some wild things after that performance.
You can just tell with some players. Technique, attitude. He's destined to make it. Whether it's at United or elsewhere, whether it's as a squad player, first teamer or club great is upto him - but he is nailed on. You can absolutely tell.

Should be ahead of Elanga in the pecking order.

I think he’s going to be immense. I just hope it’s here.

Really good display today from him, also fought for every ball which is great to see. He reminds me of a young less skilled Ronaldo but with better decision making for his age.

Looks exciting but I'd ask him to stop taking on defenders, play it safe, turn back.
Nah he should keep running at defenders but I’ll give you he needs to release the ball sooner or atleast not run at defenders every time

but fair play to him for having the balls to standout and try to win the game
Chong and VDB should take note

I believe he's joking.

Personally I thought the only thing missing for him was his final third decision making. Looked a very good player otherwise.
Meh, he wasn’t even selfish, the final ball just didn’t come off for him. Nothing wrong with that. It’s a one off game.

If I was looking for a goal in the 70th minute, I’d bring him in for either martial or rashford and let him run at defenders. It’s a waste to loan him, he could be a Greenwood like talent ready to step up directly without needing a loan.

Seems like a Greenwood level talent.

I have stopped watching reserve team these days but Mason was head and shoulders above the others technically, I am assuming Alejandro was the same.
Technically nope, but his performance today showed more assertiveness and personality than we had ever seen from Greenwood in the first team. Technique is only a part of it. This kid is a dead cert.

Greenwood also had a pretty slow/average beginning to his time in the first team. If he wasn't as highly rated from his youth performances, you wouldn't have thought he was anything overly special bar a few good finishes. It wasn't really until post-lockdown that he fully stepped up and looked like a future star.

Always good to have youth coming through but our fringe and squad players are not nearly good enough. We need couple of decent signings.

Bit of an ott reaction to a very good half in this thread but understandable as he was very good.

I wouldn't say he's at the level Greenwood was a few years ago. He was just on his game and out to prove a point.

Would agree he should get a chance this season though as he's too good to play in the u21s and we're short of forwards. Also agree he's the pick of a pretty decent crop of young forward players. I would have him ahead of Elanga but I guess Elanga's pace and ability to play on either wing gives him am edge? Garnacho on form though is the sort of player the opposition ends up having to double mark.

Garnacho looks good enough to be in the first team, maybe not starting but a bench option. Not sure that a loan would help him at this point because he's ready for this next step, and ETH is good with younger players' development.
Hopefully he benefits from the 5 sub rule.

When a player comes into the team and has that natural flair and confidence, makes challenges high up the pitch and looks up for it, this kind of reaction is natural.

I think it's conceivable that he plays a lot of football this season, but he'll have some stinkers given the type of player that he is. I just hope we're patient and not expecting too much too soon.

Kid looks good but this is a silly comment
Not remember greenwood taking it from his own half and flighting a perfect cross to Bruno against Brighton
Or when everyone else was being a p”””y took the ball against wolves and squeezed out a winner
Hes been a match winner.

Greenwood is one of the biggest talents I have ever seen. Just sad everything.

Let’s be honest here most united fans know this boy is the real deal and want him fast tracked ahead of Elanga, Amad, Chong and Pellistri, those four need loans he looks a real baller and has a great understanding with Charlie savage and Zidane IQbal who was very good today as well. We are so woefully short in the attacking three positions, I can see him having a break out year.

He was a match winner, he was a moments player, put him in a shooting position or a clear run into the box and he was deadly, but he never played with assertiveness in his all round game. You know, assertiveness, the key word in my post that you ignored by weirdly highlighting four other words around it. That would be like me saying I am fecked after a tiring day at work where I'm colleagues with your sister and her Mum.
