We should drop our offer by €5m based on that, show these deckers we aren’t messing.
It's amazing how many exclusives Sport are getting don't you think? I think even Chelsea will be shocked by this news. Definitely some bipolar people in charge of Barca and Sport

Really don't think Chelsea will go for him. They've already spent close to a 100m on Sterling, Koulibaly and Chukwuemeka. They're also close to a agreeing a 50m deal for Cucurella, while still needing reinforcements in attack. Why on earth would they fork another 70 to 80m on FDJ? He'd be good for them but doesn't seem like it should be a priority at all.

It's Sport being Sport.

They've tugged the Chelsea line for weeks now, they're not going to give it up anytime soon. None of Chelseas reliable reporters have mentioned anything, aside from the Athletic putting an opinion piece out this morning. Also why would Barca ask for €80m when they've agreed €85m with us? They're acting like we don't exist again.

Aaaah Chilevision...

Maybe Chilevision has answers to this BS? Has anyone checked?
Nothing on Chilevision. There's nothing on 2G1C either and after two hours of that my penis is now sore. So THANKS MURTOUGH.

Seems like there were funnier gifs in the Vidal and Thiago threads. Still incredible to me that we ended that window signing Fellaini for £4M more than his release clause.

This FDJ saga has entered my personal muppet Hall of Fame, alongside Thiago, Vidal, Pogba and Sancho.

Thats not the point, it was still a lot more fun and entertaining than this shite. It was never ever on, this one is, doesn't make this saga interesting.
What makes this dull is that nothing is happening. No-name "journalists" spout the same boring "stories" and in reality, they don't know shit. The last true update was a few weeks back and since then it's been sad Twitter clowns trying to get attention.

It is unequivocally the most boring transfer, and that is regardless of whether or not FDJong joins us in the end.

Can we stop posting tweets from Romero or Sport? Ever since this saga started all their tweets looks like they are Barca's mouthpieces, pushing any kind of agenda that favours Barca's position. After the fee was agreed which was like a month ago, nothing has changed apart from the content of their tweets basically contradicting themselves.

Both Mitten and Van Der Kraan have mentioned that it might go to the last day of the window. What I don't understand is what do Barca gain by prolonging this saga.

When he comes and flops in games, he will be destroyed and I would be holding the torch.

the principle is simple. Barca owe many of their players money, not just FDJ. If they paid him 17m now, the others would ask for theirs. Barca doesn't want that and will play victim card for as long as possible

I think someone at Sport is obsessed with Chelsea. They regurgitate the story that we’re in for him every other day.

The good news for Chelsea is that if they show interest in De Jong, Barca can't swoop in and sign De Jong since he's already at the club

Hoping that FDJ will get fed up and give up on the €17m.

I do not think we will sign FdJ, but i think there is certainly interest. Mundo Deportivo are also reporting it tonight, too.

Our journalists have confirmed interest. However none of our reliable journalists have been much in the loop lately overall, which surprises me.

They can just pay 17m and add bonuses to make him stay.

Then it might just be a ploy from De Jong’s side to drum up interest from Chelsea so that Barca don’t force him to take a pay cut again…

United fans gathered at the airport on Saturday and one shouted to Murtough 'Get Frenkie' to which he turned to the fan and grinned. Then everybody laughed. That's it in a nutshell.
Thanks … though the terms ‘straws’ and ‘clutching’ do come to mind…

Marcel van der Kraan is saying that he thinks Frenkie will join Man Utd and a solution will be found but it could go to the last day of the window. He also says that Barcelona shouldn't be allowed to get away with not paying the money they owe the player and it's a case of who will bend first, Frenkie or Barcelona.

Its interesting that most dutch football fans and United fans see that Frenkie is being screwed here. And that it's imperative or at least understandable that Frenkie is taking a stand.

Barca fans on the other hand seem to find Frenkie's stand immoral and Laporta's approach justifiable.

Its almost like living in Trump's America where there is no middle ground on the perspectives of the same situation. Almost polar opposities.

I think i heard him described as the chief football writer for Hollands biggest newspaper and has very solid sources within dutch football. Pretty sure his opinion would have some sort of foundation behind it.
Remember him prominent in the Sneijder saga

Maybe Laporta can ask Silva to give up part of his salary -- to fund what's owed to Frenkie and close the saga and Bernardo gets his dream move. Or at least defer part of his salary and backload his contract.

All for the greater good.
