Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
Chelsea spending 102m million or thereabouts on FDJ would be the most bizarre transfer, but not for Ducker, he’s gone 2+2 = 1 million.
Also seems to tie in very nicely with Barca’s wish to get United to offer more to settle his fee, English journo being used as a mouth piece?
My conspiracy theory is Boehly still wants Ronaldo - it’s the perfect statement commercial signing - and him “going after” De Jong helps Barcelona out to get us to panic and pay the wages which helps Mendes get Silva to Barcelona. They were all in Barcelona around the same time. Them signing De Jong makes no sense.

I think he's saying they'll offer 100m in one swoop to cover the wages and the fee. If that was the case, why are they refusing to meet Barcas €80m fixed?

They're interested but not negotiated or anything if latest reports from Fab were to be believed. Don't they value him more at €50m?
They’d have paid it now then wouldn’t they and got the deal done?

What would they be waiting for?

Makes no sense to me

They're saying in the media that they're waiting for de Jong to give the green light for a possible transfer before making a bid. Why would it matter? If they were willing to cover the fee AND the wages (which is what were led to believe the issue is) then they wouldn't need a green light. They'd create the green light by paying the wages?

Looks like Duckerbot is also starting to crack under the pressure of Frenkiemania.

Only the strong will survive!

Exactly. Again it makes no sense.

They are waiting for the green light over the wage issue however they are going to sort the wage issue out themselves by paying more money.

In essence Boehly is trapped in transfer muppet stasis, frozen in time waiting for a green light that he himself is going to generate.

It’s actually nice to know they are bullshitters.
Grade A as far as im concerned. When Simon is referred to as Mr. 'I am told' Man, its not a compliment. I have nothing against him or Dan personally, but they waffle like feck

When you think about it like that, it really does make absolutely no sense. Makes you wonder who's actually spreading all this crap about Chelsea? Seems like it arrived out of nowhere with Ornsteins report, built a bit of steam, negotiations were underway, Chelsea were favourites... fast forward 24 hours it's kinda fizzled out.

Were now told Chelsea are still just interested, they were offered several players, de Jong included and they're considering it. They're waiting for a green light from de Jong before they enter negotiations and bid, but they're willing to pay his wage issue off, essentially creating the green light themselves and sealing the transfer.

However its also been reported that they only value him at €50m and won't match Uniteds bid.

Now who's spreading what. If you ask me, Barca are spreading the imminent bid etc whilst Chelsea have said we don't want to pay as much as United.

Who bloody knows

It’s hard to say with Chelsea this season as they’ve literally been linked with so many players this summer and have chased plenty of dead ends.

There’s also been plenty of reports suggesting De Jong didn’t want Chelsea if you remember and it was reiterated again yesterday by SkySports United were his preference.

The whole thing is very strange. The only consistent brief has actually been from United stating they are comfortable in the deal and that De Jong wants the move.

I thought that the buying club can't pay the owed wages because it goes against some tax law. Sure I read that somewhere.

Green light from DeJong to see if he is even interested in coming to London.

No point in putting a bid in, when he is not interested in leaving Barcelona.

But the reason he doesn't want to leave, if the media is to be believed, is because of his deferred wages. As soon as they were sorted, he'd be open to moving.

Now if Chelsea are willing to cover them wages and pay them off, then why do they need to wait for a green light? They're literally creating that green light. The media says he's open to leaving if the issues are sorted. All Chelsea has to do is ask his agent, if we pay his deferred wages, will he come to Chelsea. Simple.

There's more to this than meets the eye. Does he really want to move to Chelsea? ARE the wages the issue? Do United have every reason to be confident, does he only want to move to OT, hence no rush from United to sort the wage issue?

It's so confusing

Just been listening to Athletic podcast and Mitten said a month ago the answer was FDJ was option a, b and c. Now he’s being told there is a list of plan B’s. I believe we will sign a midfielder.
I think Ronnie is so desperate to leave he will engineer a move too, so we HAVE to sign a forward, especially with Martial injured.
Hey, Cavani is still available! :wenger:
Sounds like club aren't optimistic anymore then

This still has the strong whiff of a done dealio, amigos.

As I understand the alleged facts, Barcelona cannot register their new signings -- all of whom play in positions of much greater need for Barca than CM -- until they dispose of Frenkie's admittedly rather high wages (why Barcelona agreed to what they agreed to is its own story), they have agreed to a transfer fee with United and they're already stacked with whom they consider better midfielders than Frenkie. It's also an undisputed fact that Frenkie has not begged to come to United, but I assume it's a fact that he would like to rake in huge wages during the prime of his career and that he does not desire to rot on the bench, even if Barcelona's bench is near the beach.

Keep the faith and carry on. Let's get some other signings over the line while Frenkie squeezes Barcelona for a few more paychecks.
Barca can register all their signings now
