So Eriksen is our Dusan Tadić then eh? Honestly, it's a surprise but I think that's Ten Hag showing he knows what he wants from these roles. A false 9 needs impeccable control, needs to know how to turn on the ball and be press resistant. Bruno I've never felt suits that role, he needs to be looking forward always.

It's like proving McFred can work is a manager's highest achievement

Lindelof injured? Got 8/11 correct. Didn't think Shaw would be fit and we would start with Ronaldo.

We were all debating whether Ten Hag will play Eriksen deeper as a CM before the season and now he is our striker.

I think we’ve had every permutation of that front 4 guessed in here except that one - Eriksen as false 9
Yeah, that's quite literally the one option that nobody suggested.

Hopefully it's not an 'Herrera at CB' thing.

Atletico and Rayo gave us exactly what we needed to be ready for this game.
And we couldn't win either. While Brighton were beating Espanyol 5-1. Hopefully we'll be a lot better than last weekend.

Imagine what Ronaldo is thinking -- to be picked over Eriksen? The fecker nearly died a few months ago. And ETH doesn't pick me over him?

    Down south...somewhere
Precisely. we were never going to start Garner or Iqbal over two full internationals.
I think he needs to see more of those two before trusting them with a starting spot but hopefully under ETH McF will be better guided and more clear over what their duties are and what he requires of them. Looking forward to it.

Excited to see how Fernandes and eriksen work together and what positions they take up. Both offer us plenty of creativity.

Balls of steel. ETH must eat ballbearings for brekkie. No rice crispies for him
Why does he needs balls of steel for this? Unlike what you guys have imagined Ronaldo to be, he is actually a very reasonable player as long as the coach's rationale and capability is strong.

I am excited for this match. Eriksen is playing sort of a false nine role, getting Rashford and Sancho to cut in and provide the cutting edge. Bruno as a CM alongside McTominay is also a good choice as Bruno loves to bomb up and down the field and he applies alot of pressure on the opposition. This way the defensive workload is shared equally amongst the 2 while Fred acts as the defensive midfielder.

McFred are starting, Martial is our striker, there is no backup striker and Elanga is backup of no-backup-striker.

But I am still excited for the new season under new manager. To sum up my invigorating mood

Sure, it should be enough on Brighton though.
? Brighton absolutely pasted us last season. Until we see something to the contrary in terms of this squads capability can we show some respect to the opposition.

Liking Ten Hag so far. Didn't play it safe by playing Ronaldo. Ole would definitely have started Ronaldo even if he was 20% fit.

I’ve genuinely not been this excited about a Man Utd game in many years. It probably won’t be pretty but I just hope we’ll see some signs of a change in direction

I'm happy for ETH to do whatever. We were utter shite last season and he has the brain and willpower to make things work. It's good that we're trying something different, at least.

This is definitely going to be a bit tough and I'm happy we will play a challenging team.

They use the ball very well and overload in central areas so our pressing game will really be put to test.

Will also be good to see how Martinez deals with Welbeck aerially. If he gets through this witbout problems, I can't imagine his height should be an issue as there aren't many strikers more challenging than Welbz in that respect.
