Ralf Rangnick.
What if they have too many new players for him to work with?
I don't follow?

My point is can you see him being reduced to counters here, not being able to play his way, being told there's no new signings coming, and actually putting up with it for long?

Didn't react to us conceding the first goal so we conceded another. Didn't even make a half time sub. Left McTominay on the picth for 77 mins. Sent Garnacho on in the 88th. Poor in game management today.

Made a lot of naive mistakes so far. Now lets hope he will quickly wake up and realize the scope of the task ahead of him.

Wrong decision not to play Ronaldo. Payed for it.
It is not even just that. Not playing with a forward - any forward at this point in that position - was a mistake. We don't have anyone to play as a false 9 in this squad at all.

We were just wasting the ball and time doing nothing and going nowhere for the whole first half.

Not going to listen too much to the knee jerk nonsense that’s inevitably going to be posted in here after that. This was always going to be a huge job, the squad has massive holes, some major issues are still unaddressed. The manager is going to need time on the training field, and some more transfers to sort this out.

It sucks, but patience is required. I believe in the manager.

It'll take time, PL is a different breed. The intensity with which Brighton played all match caught him by surprise

He's a smart manager, he'll learn as weeks go by. Bizarre our fans are already taking about his possible sacking

Hope he’s learned his lesson:

- Maguire, even if he plays to his absolute best, will always leave us vulnerable to balls in the channel. Varane and Martinez are the partnership to go with.

- McFred. Just please stop. Eriksen in the deeper role until FDJ, Neves or Tielemans come. We looked so much better when that switch with Fred was made.

We could get Guardiola as manager and the whole of City's backroom staff, but as long as Maguire, Fred, McTominay, Shaw and Rashford are anywhere close to a starting lineup we will remain in a very sorry state.

Subs wouldn't have made a difference, our squad is a fooking shambles. The only thing he's guilty of is naivety for thinking that this was a job that any non-magician could do.
Bringing some kids in the 89th minutes while losing is fecking dumb. You either trust them so you put them early or you don't so you don't play them. That's called making subs for the sake of it.

Not sure why he signed off on a 55m centre back whilst Varane is on the bench and Lindelof can’t make the squad.

Meanwhile there’s no cash left so we’re in for Arnoutovic.

The sooner Ten Hag realizes that he will never win anything with Bruno and Rashford on this team the better, I have really had it with everytime I see Rashford jump, he always somehow avoids heading the ball, this is something he has done his whole career, whats the point jumping. if he does not want to head the ball why not just make it difficult for the opponent to head it instead of just jumping with no intention of heading it

Sure it's early. Sure the director of football isn't qualified to run Exeter City. But why the feck did he wait until the 89th minute to make changes?

I don’t think I will ever be able to understand why he decided to play Eriksen as a False 9.

I hope he lives up to his ruthlessness. I hope he has the balls to drop McFred entirely. Maguire can’t even hold a fecking line. 80 mill world class defender and club captain. Entire feckin team was shit. Why was Rashford left on the whole game?

ten Hag looked clueless in the first half. He was out coached by Potter. That Brighton team was very well prepared, and they knew to pressure Fred and Scotty relentlessly because they are error prone, and they knew to attack Dalot.

Why was Rashford not subbed off at half time? Why was McTom not subbed off earlier? Why did he persist with starting McFred? Why was Garner not brought on? Why the useless subs in the 89th minute? Why why why???

God, it really does make you realise how much faith we've put in people who've performed well in the Dutch league. The bloody Dutch league....

Ten Hag, Martinez, Malacia ... even De Jong has disappointed since he left Ajax.

Didn't really appreciate just how risky this is until now.

Cue the second manager who is failing to implement a press with this group of players.

Gee, I wonder where the problem lies.

Trusting these losers only cost him his job. The soon he realizes it the better

Thought we will dominate the game but it was all Brighton in the first half. Needs a better midfield .

And if Bruno puts away his chance in the first 20 minutes, we probably don't lose, and that first half turns out very differently.
Yeah but that was a sitter missed by Rashford. Ronaldo's run and pass created that

He may as well just go back to fecking Holland if he thinks McTominay should be anywhere near our squad. Another manager given impression we can possibly start football games with 10 men and win them. Wake up Eric now!

Disastrous start.

Brighton H Lost
Brentford A
Liverpool H
Southampton A
Leicester A
Arsenal H
Palace A

That next 6 fixture list looks a nightmare for this squad. Good chance he won't have a win from the first 7 games.

He obviously isn’t aware of how useless the likes of Dalot, McFred, Rashford etc are. Can’t expect him to know much yet. If those four continue to be regular starters I’d hazard a guess and say he’d be out of a job by December. I think he’ll figure it out soon enough though and he’ll make the required changes.

Seriously? So what’s the excuse for Rashford, McTominay, Shaw, Sancho and Maguire?

They were all (bar Maguire who played ok) dreadful today, and they’ve all came through the English football system.

A very good game today. I thought after the first half, our progress is nowhere to see. But the second half, it’s a really good performance and it’s obvious to see the ETH brand playing style right there but we gave ourselves a mountain to climb. It’s a bit too late. Seagulls have been well drilled in their position playing. You can see it when they are on offense and they are so fluid to apply it as they are born to play that way. In contrast, we in the first half after ten mins, are completely lost and it’s reasonable that we have not yet been able to do that in the real competition. Time will get us there.
I feel more optimistic now.

I think my biggest worry about him is becoming quite glaring. I was worried he's a bit too naive due his inexperience at the very top and I think it's showing. Going into this with the same bunch of players and hoping for a different outcome was always going to be suicide.

Still has my full backing, Murtough gets all blame for me. Should have a clear plan in place, but he's clearly out of depth too.
