Who's accounts? He's never been the most mentally strong player, and he quits more often than we need right now.

If he comes here he's going to be worse than Pogba and Lingard combined.

He isn't even that good of a player.
Rabiot doesn't quit and he doesn't have issues when it comes mental toughness. You are essentially making up a different person.

Rather strange that everyone has been crying for upgrades for the short term and this is just that . I think you can sign him and then plan over the next year or so about bigger signings

This is what the highly praised new club structure uncovered. It’s clear we don’t have the money.

You'd be surprised at how some of these midfielders at other top teams look like they're not good enough, but will come here and look quality amongst our dross.

I am abolutely behind signing a few players like this right now IF it means we can bring a few in before the window closes. Or perhaps even reinvest the FDJ money on a really good attacker or two. We simply need to get McFred out of there.

He is terrible, in that he contributes literally nothing in the midfield: no tackles, no assists, no shots. He just runs. On the other hand, Juve is even more terrible as a whole, so you can argue he would do better elsewhere, like Kulysevski and Bentancur now at Spurs. Caveat: without real pressure to perform and win, any of these players (and more… like Bernardeschi, Kean, even the latest Dybala if you want) is a superstar.
Yikes.

Oh for the heady days of being linked to Ruben Neves.

Sounds a bit like our underperforming team, really. No fans in the stadium and we’re battering the world.

What do you think about him? I've not watched him in a long time but remember he looked very talented when younger.

I expect that he'll be technically streets ahead of what we have - you don't play for France and Juve by not being at least technically very sound.

We need to fix the dressing room and we get linked with Rabiot and Arnautovic.

This is the way to really challenge ETH to see if he can control the dressing room.

Good luck ETH is all I have to say.

How is he on the ball? I think he would still be an upgraded if his ball carrying is better.
Decent but, again, he is a passenger… all recent Juve players are passengers, and that’s really bad for teams supposed to fight week in week out for trophies, at any level.

It is. Bepi's point is an exaggeration based on underwhelming performances from the team in the past 18 months but none of these players are terrible, they are from it.

This is only a good idea if it’s in addition to Frenkie which I have a feeling it probably would be.

Really? Bailed out of City as a youth player, crying about playing time at PSG, refusing to be on the French reserve squad for the 2018 World Cup, not sure what he's gotten upto at Juve but no doubt there won't be a fan at that club that will want this transfer not to happen.

We need fighters as well as good players, he's as week as you can get, not sure what you saw in him?

McTominay playing for Juventus. Their fans would riot. Juve wouldn’t even take him on a free!

Not being content with being a bench player is mental weakness?

We are in this tricky situation where on one hand we should not be buying players who are clearly not good enough to play at the highest level and we will never win trophies with, on the other our team is so bad that even a player like Rabiot would probably significantly improve it. It's quite clear we cannot identify talent so we will probably go down the route of picking up the pieces.

Also, you can bet he won't be a short term solution. Once we buy him he'll be here for 5-6 years like every single shit player we bought.

He is decent, he can do pretty much everything at a good level. It's unimpressive but it's done at a good level. In a very good team he is a bench option, for us likely a starter.

Rabiot and Aurnatovic! I’d love to see the planning that went into this.

Absolute mugs running this club.

I mean he is a human that stands in the middle of the pitch. It’s something.

This desperate scrambling around though is such a poor indictment on everyone involved. What even is our recruitment team? What have we done all summer, other than tell Murtough to go to Barcelona and wait for the phone to ring?

Rabiot were once a good player, really good, did very well in PSG and played a bunch of matches in the national team. Then something happened around when Tuchel arrived in PSG, he has been declining since and were not good in a bad Juve side. Although he has played more than 90 times in 3 seasons there.
It's a risky thing to buy him. It can go either way, either he starts to find himself again, cause there's no question that he once was a great player, or he keeps declining.

BUT, and this is the thing, he can't in any sense be worse than what we have now

Isn't he a a bit of an agitator with a massive ego, but often not much to back it up?

Sounds like exactly what we need, 5 year deal £350k please!

At least this dude has no previous relation to ETH, which means we have a scouting department. Small victories.

I don't think this is true at all.

By accounts of no signs of petulance since he was a young player?

Washed up, hasn’t played well since PSG, big contract, like huge contract, mother is a fecking head case. He just wants out of Juventus, he doesn’t want to play for United.
Agree with all of those points. But I would start Fred the Red over the joke that is Fretominay right now. So yeah…

He complaining about playing time when he was 17-18 and asked to be loaned if he wasn't used, which was the right thing to do. The 2018 thing is big mistake that he made, owned and was forgiven by Deschamps who is fairly stubborn.

Neither of these things have anything to do with the image that you are trying to portray.

Look at the date of these tweets. International players returned to training on 4th July and we flew to Thailand later that week.

He may well be a decent signing but I think it just sums up our board's incompetence if we sign him in August. People thought getting Cavani so late as we got down his wages was a good move but pretty clear that was incompetence at work again.

Have I woke up in 2018? Arnautovic & Rabiot?

Is it finally time for Benatia to get off his plane and sign his contract? Sneijder and Gaitan incoming too?

Murtough PC mustn't have updated from XP yet and he's on the old scouting portfolios.

You want to go all in on a young player who has zero experience of men's football? That would be doing him no favours at all and could really damage his career. He needs handling carefully, 5-10 starts and some sub appearances this season and let's see how he goes.
