To try and bring some positivity to this thread. According to transfermarkt he's only missed 24 club matches in his career due to injury. It goes up 29 matches if you include covid, quarrantine or illness.

Pogba missed 32 matches through injury in the past TWO seasons alone at United through injury.

Certainly not an ideal solution but if we have to have a stepping stone in the short term then that’s got to be better than McFred…..

Trouble is panic signings like this are never as short term as we wish. They hang around for years on big wages, we're unable to sell, and hence we become more reluctant to buy again

Rabiot runs a lot, great physically. Would be an important signing

Dunno why juve are desperate to sell him and he is hated by juve fans

I see a swap deal with martial
Rabiot looks levels above our current lot. He can put in a tackle too.

Swap? I doubt juve want to take on someone with that wage package.

We're buying with cash. Hopefully under 30m.

Being better than our current putrid midfield is a low bar, yet this latest desperation signing still feels underwhelming

Went onto that Juventuz fan forum to see what they said about him and quote them here but the amount of homophobic slurs made that a non-runner. Charming bunch. But the gist is they're not fans and think he's lazy/doesn't care enough.

Also, there seemed to be some suggestion that he had refused to be vaccinated?

Haven’t seen that much of him lately but I’ve always liked his playing style. Think he would be a good signing but he isn’t going to solve the massive issues in this team on his own.

If it means Fred or McTominay get less game time and it's a pretty cut price deal then no issue with it. Be intersted to see the vibes around De Jong i.e. this is an additional signing and we still pursue De Jong or is it a replacement.

The funniest thing is that we are helping fund Juve's move for Paredes who is a better player than Rabiot.

This club has somehow managed to buy someone from the only big club that have as bad midfielders as us, it takes effort tbh.

Paredes is terrible, isn't he?

I'm guessing it was a combination of things, I just remember his mother constantly in the news, and I'm sure many United fans would rather not have an agent in the press constantly.

Maybe his mother has made me dislike the guy even more, but even though Rabiot may improve our midfield, I haven't seen him in years, but the fact he's on his last year of his contract and there isn't really a race for his signature suggests only one thing, all I know is that his character isn't what we need.
It had nothing to do with his mother, she is also not in the press constantly, she is a lunatic but her antics aren't as regular as some of you are thinking and Rabiot has by all account little to do with it.

The issue with Rabiot is the same than the issue with their other youth players, the ones that leave for free every year, PSG had the bad habit of low balling them during contract negotiations while offering massive wages to players that were meant to be their backups. Rabiot like the rest simply decided to not extend. PSG kind of admitted their mistakes this summer, it's apparently one of the things that Wilfried Mbappé complained about(he is close to current and former members of PSG's academy).

United beat Liverpool in pre-season match 4:0 ETG: "I am happy with the squad" "Only the right players"
After the Brighton game: Arnautovic and Rabiot are good enough.

Can not blame ETH to go full panic after seeing McFred in a PL game.

He has certain attributes. He’s a runner who will press and work hard all day. I can see where he would fit in.

5 is wishful thinking :)

We just had 8 or 9 rejected for Arnautovic.
I mean we shouldn't be considering this deal at all anyway, but the only way it makes any sense is it we have been offered a free/loan/extremely low transfer value.

£30m we should be looking much wider.

Why are we paying a fee for him. Juve should be thankful that we are taking him off them.

Maybe we can entice them a swap with Jones instead.

Otherwise I'll just go with Tielemans, who is also on his last year of contract.

Why is it always either or with us?

We should be signing Rabiot, Neves AND FDJ.

Get rid of Fred. Get rid of McT.

A top team doesn't just have ONE good central midfielder. You need a fecking plethora of them.

feck the glazers.
Yeah this is it really (although I’d much rather someone like Bennacer than Rabiot). I’d even happily hand Martinez and Malacia back if it meant we could sign three new CMs and be done with Fred and McT for good.

30m for a player with a bad attitude who is probably no longer a starter and is out of contract at the end of the season?

For footballing reasons? Don't see him as an upgrade for our midfield? Or at least not one worth the hassle?
Football wise he's inconsistent. He can have the game of his life as he did against Sassuolo-Juventus were some even compared him to Zidane followed by weeks of games were fans would wonder if he really gives a feck about his career at all. Off the pitch he's got a Karen of a mother who also happens to be his agent. If you think that Pogba is disruptive then you haven't met Veronique Rabiot. The guy also have a 7m euros salary btw

Terrible passing stats, terrible retention stats, terrible final ball stats. I mean he’s better than mctominay but this just a joke
Truly grim.
And someone was insisting that United don't do panic buys..!!
