why is it a concern to you? it may be a concern for the club of course but it doesn't worry me a jot - just like I don't give a monkey's what my next door neighbour earns
Becuase it stops us signing players I actually want to see playing for the club? It’s not rocket science, again it seems like you’re purposefully being obtuse.

I tell you mate he was painful to watch for most of his time at Juventus. Just go and watch Howson's video on him as he describes it in far more detail then I can ever do.
I’ve watched him for France… he does his job. I can understand him being painful as he keeps it really simple. But believe me it’s easy to look shite amongst quality players. Watch when he comes here you’ll realise how bad the midfielder’s we have been watching are. I back him to go toe toe with Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal’s midfield with a new midfield partner.

I can’t back McFred and Bruno(Don’t know why I keep leaving this shite bag out like he’s not included in our midfield woes).

I don't know enough about Rabiot's performances in the pst 12-18 months but this "trouble maker" tag is interesting because I know that quite a few people thought that of someone else many years ago... his name is Eric Cantona.

Not saying the two players can be compared but the tag can

Where does it say we are paying £50m in wages?
reports coming out he wants same wage as he gets at juve which is apparently 175k per week, and I’m not sure whether that figure is net, which is the norm for Italian wages

clearly, given our history over the past 40 years, it never has... unless so course you think we can sign Messi, Halaand and Salah

I remember watching him for PSG v Liverpool in the CL a few seasons ago. He was the best player on the pitch that day. I thought at the time I would love to see him at Utd, but I said that about Paul Pogba too.

He’s time was then, not now. It will be a disaster signing. Hope I’m wrong!

I suppose we have to accept we aren't the club we were a few season ago either. Sad but true (not that I'm desperate to have Rabiot)

Was hoping to wake up this morning and it was a bad dream all along but nope, here we are yet again handing big contracts out to inadequate players. I don’t know why I thought things would be any different, Im not usually so naive but football somehow brings out the optimist in me.

He will be on massive wages that no one else will match so we will have to cover part of the wages if we try to get rid of him
Is that what happened when lingard went to West ham or Henderson went to forest? (genuine question, idk).

Rabiot has played for PSG and Juventus, and has 29 caps for France. He's not some outcast that has fallen from grace and can't get a game at Ipswich Town.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.

Honestly I'd rather not sign anyone then Rabiot. Let's sack the mastermind behind this disastrous transfer window, we should bring a top DOF NOW, we give ETH a free pass (thus encouraging him to use kids like Zidane Iqbal, Garner and co) and we'll tackle the problem in January.

I think so too.
Nice one mate :D

If he can receive the ball in tight spaces, under pressure, on the half turn and progress it through midfield then he will provide a crucial function that we sorely lack.
Correct. Genuinely thought when I saw the link yesterday that it might actually be a good signing and will walk into the midfield.

There's a piece on Sky Sports that makes his mum sound a bit like a certain recently deceased Italian agent... :D
Nah she seems like a perfectly affable and level headed person…

A few years later, when Rabiot was beginning to burst into the first-team set-up at PSG in 2014, head coach Laurent Blanc was confronted by Veronique, who was angry that her son had been demoted to what she deemed the reserve team. Security was called after Veronique waited in the parking lot for Blanc in order to express her dissatisfaction.

She also snuck into a training camp in Doha during Rabiot’s time at PSG, despite family members being banned from the trip.

When Rabiot was relegated to the PSG reserve team in January 2019 and after demands over new wages were rejected, Veronique was quoted as saying: "My son is a hostage of the club, he will soon live in prison on bread and water."

After France’s 3-3 draw with Switzerland at Euro 2020, Kylian Mbappe missed the decisive penalty to ensure Switzerland progressed and France were knocked out. Veronique was caught on camera talking to Mbappe’s father, Wilfried, and she is believed to have said: “It is embarrassing how he struck that, for a player of his level. He hit it too lightly, I hope you are going to scold him.”

The Athletic reported that witnesses also say Veronique clashed with members of Paul Pogba’s family during the game, with the then-Manchester United midfielder accused of being at fault for Switzerland’s third goal by Rabiot’s mother.

Another of The Athletic’s sources, with inside knowledge of the France squad, reported: “Rabiot’s mother is known to be very sensitive and very close to her son and she didn’t appreciate what Pogba’s friends were saying about one of Adrien’s touches.

Come on man. Your smart… football doesn’t work like that. We need to make the Champions league next season.. we cannot go backwards our manager will face the sack and we are stuck again.

Believe in him he will make it work. But what he can’t do is have a season of McFred they are relegation CM’s.

Garner has done nothing to prove he deserves a chance. Yes he’s a big talent but do you think it’s wise to throw him in, in an already low on confidence squad? Toxic fanbase? One mistake and he’s done.

Bed him in slowly in cup games.
He has been outstanding in his loan spells so I think that has earnt him a chance and what that means is getting 30 mins in games and seeing how he handles it.

We won't make CL qualification with the likes of Rabiot or Arnautoshit. That's gone. Let's do things right for once. We hire a top DOF and hope for the best. Paratici joined Spurs in July. By the end of January he made 3 signings that turned things around.

well those two weren’t on his wages for a start. This guy is looking for 175k+.

The club has no intention whatsoever to hire a DoF and this has been the case throughout the last 10 years when it is obviously something we should be doing.

I don’t see it as some sort of instant solution though - what if you disagree with the DoF’s signings?

As much as I want to hate on this signing, I just can't. He's a very experienced CM/DM, and I can't imagine he won't improve our midfield.

If he wants to come, bring him in. The alternatives are way worse.

I can see it now...LadBible - United fans losing their minds, comparing Rabiot to legend Eric Cantona

You can disagree with a DoF signing while also trusting his judgement.
I can’t trust a guy who hasn’t shown even a resemblance of a plan in every transfer window he has overseen.

Posted this before but only all touches video I can find, not sure if this is him at his best or worst. Doesn’t seem much of a progresser for a box to box player, seems better at tackling, interceptions

only other game is a highlights reel from a barca game five years ago

let’s hope eth brings out the player who was hyped 6/7 years ago.

Juventus fans are desperate to get rid. Says it all.
I does not say it all. We were desperate to get Pogba out of our club, they were happy to get him. Sometimes it can make a difference moving clubs for a player. I am not saying Pogba will be great for them, I think he is shit, but he might. Same goes for Rabiot, he can be very good for us or he might not.

We won't. He's bang average and we are being taken for a ride yet again. His metrics from last season were worse than Mctominay in almost every criteria listed.

I'm sorry but this isn't acceptable. He's a nothing player. Sideways football expert. Isn't particularly strong defensively or offensively. Just a nothing player.
If you didn't think so then my post wouldn't make much sense.
