I like the player but this would honestly be a bizarre transfer. You already have five right footed forwards whose very best position is left inside forward or left winger. And Garnacho is the same profile. You need a real #9 and a left footed RW, not another right footed player that wants to shade to the left and cut in on his right foot.

Could be wrong, but perhaps he will be signed to play as a number 9.

He is going elsewhere. We always do this. Find out somebody else is signing a bright young talent. Then put out a brief to make it look like we where in for him.

Using the same philosophy that had us buy another CB when we had no midfield to speak of.

I don’t understand this nonsense of “Utd have registered their interest”. What does that process involve?

Ringing PSV up and saying “Hey, you know that tasty winger you’ve got? We like him. Take care, all the best.”

Am I right in my digging around in that PSV vs Monaco is not being shown in UK (officially) and that I would need to find a continuous flow of liquid?

I have only seen him once, talented but my worry is he left winger/number 9 type just like Martial, Rashford, Ronaldo, and even Elanga, is he the right profile?
I'll have preferred a left footed right winger to replace Greenwood.

So we want PSV to lose but Gakpo to do really well?

No they can both do shit. Wouldn't want him performing well and other teams to sniff around him more.
But if he stays then PSV may want to keep / demand a higher fee

Elanga isn't ever going to be of the required level, Martial is a 9 and I doubt will play wide for us, Ronaldo doesn't play wide anymore and wants out anyway... Could see Gakpo being the Ronaldo replacement anyway. Garnacho and Rashford are our 2 usable left wingers, though Garnacho obviously very young. Gakpo is versatile and I think will be a 9 long term anyway though, so it could be ten hag eyes him for that or to rotate with Rashford for now.

Well, never thought I'd be cheering on Monaco for the slim hope of a potential transfer. Yet here we are.

Maybe the thinking is to reinforce the other positions and then hope at least one of the younger forwards like Amad, Pellistri can step up this season.

Never heard of him. Cool name. Is he better than Garnacho and Amad? I expect Garnacho to take Rashford's place in the team this season.

I want him too. Think he’s going to develop as a CF.

Has he actually played centre forward or are people just projecting their desired position on to players as usual? He doesn’t look like an amazing talent but I’m afraid if we pass up on him, our next target would be an Aaron Lennon/Theo Walcott the way this window is going.

He was footballer of the year in the eredivisie last year. Garnacho is a huge talent but obviously isn't ready to play regularly. Same with amad. Gakpo is fast and strong and has a great shot and a very good cross on him. He would probably rotate between being a LW or a ST here with Martial and Rashford.

 same but I don't think I can really root against Ruud's team.

Cheers. Based entirely on your post I would expect him to be in the team ahead of both Rashford and Martial.

We were cheering against them to secure Tchouameni last season and look how that turned out.

Get him and play Sancho on the right.

Instead upgrade on Rashford.

Not in place of a centre forward though, we need both.

Looks a lot like Rashford based on the clips. As in more explosive power and shooting than technical brilliance. Would be great if he can play number 9 and has the instincts required for that.

Isn't Ziyech also the better option? Ziyech probably played better in Eredivisie too and he's a left footed right winger
