I have no doubt that he would. He has a genuine interest to play football at the highest level and was distraught during his transfer to MLS.

Nice to see him standing up for Arnautovic (10:00-mark)

Love Chicharito, was one of my fave players back in the day.

Love how he reverts to saying we when he speaks of United.

LVG fecked us up big time on that window, got Rid of players that would die for united. Rafa, nani and hernandez were the biggest misses that time. At this point I'd take him just for a season. We need players badly.

More eloquent in a foreign language than most English footballers in their own.

Selling Nani was insane to me, and I still think Rafa could have contributed something

I hope he takes an ambassadorial role with the club when he retires. Would be great for American and Mexican fans and I think he would be wonderful.

His run here felt a bit like a movie for 2 seasons, was one of my favourite players at the time.

It really is touching seeing so many non-English players still so fond of our club. Louis Saha with the three you mentioned still has love for us.

Seconded, him and Evra are two of our ex-players I'd like to see involved in selling our club to new recruits or simply representing us in an ambassadorial role.

Isn't it normal for players of any nationality to be fond of a club that treated them well and where they have good memories?

Asking because it seemed a bit strange to point out the non-English bit.

I would love to see Chicha in some role for us. His love for the club is genuine and I think our young players could learn alot from his mentality. And man was he clinical.

feck that. Get him coaching in the academy or something. Somebody with his work ethic and passion, as well as having footballing pedigree and seeming quite intelligent? I'd love him to do his badges and get involved!

I suppose I didn't really expect it by the foreign players. Ever since I have been watching, and following United I have had people around me saying x,y,z is only there for the money they don't really care about the club.
So I guess whilst I was hoping for what you stated, I don't really expect it. It's about the same with our English players, I don't normally expect it, but a bit more if they were academy products, maybe given most of our homegrown-core was English when I started watching United, I just take it a bit more for granted that there would be some affection there vs foreign import.

This would be music to Glazers ears. I’m surprised they aren’t all over it.

Maybe I don't watch enough football, but I have yet to see a striker produce his off-the-ball movement in the box to free himself.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
One of a number of players who really embraced United and regardless of starting/sub, always gave 100%. Clearly still lives the club, another Evra (though without the comical lunacy Evra brings :) )

Still remember when we won the title (those were the days eh?) and him chasing SAF to get a picture with him and the trophy. He adored SAF.

Talks a lot of sense in interview too.

Sign him up, he'd do a better job than rashford upfront.

United minus the Glazers
At this rate we’d have a first eleven of geriatrics. But in all seriousness, I’d take him in a heartbeat and send Ronaldo packing

I loved those players but Rafa was injured most of his time here, and the other 2 were not good enough. We replaced them with other players not good enough, but keeping them solves nothing.

Speaks very well and seems like such a nice guy.
As a fellow Mexican and Guadalajara native I have to admit I have really soured on the guy. Loved him during his time at United but has become a bit of twat in the last few years, far from the nice/humble guy who arrived at OT a decade or so ago. Huge diva now. Playing for two of the biggest clubs in the world really got to his head.

One of the many of the issues last years was the imbalance of expected squad roles and actual squad roles. Players who can come in and be an effective premier league striker and also affect the game from the bench when needed, and then be returned to the bench without becoming disgruntled are golden.

His limited ability to link with the midfield was negated by the fact his off the ball movement was excellent and he predominantly was looking to go behind which created space for others and also give our playmakers are runner to aim for ( something we have lacked since). You were always going to struggle to get a forward that could do everything he could but with more refined technique and happy with a squad role.

His terrible spell at West Ham pretty much proved he lacked the ability to play at the top level, especially as a starter. No idea why anyone would want him at the club other than sentimental reasons.

Remember him being very sulky his last season here, before we sent him on loan to Madrid.

Glad to see he's still got love for the club though.

Louis Van Gaal, what a guy. He flushed Chicharito down the toilet and brought in clowns and has-beens.

Chicharito has carved out a career beyond his wildest dreams and is doing well in MLS. Couldn't do much, however, when he came on in the second half against the Sacramento Republic, which dumped the LA Galaxy out of the US Open Cup in June.

Love Hernandez but thinking about how he would be a regular starter if he was to come into this team at 22 now, instead of the great backup he was in 2010, just reminds me of how shite we are now.

Man, those were the days. Our team was so stacked with quality that we felt our midfield options of Carrick, Fletcher, old man Scholes, G*ggs, Anderson and Park were poor.

What a gem he was. People criticised him for his passing in his first season, but he improved on this massively in his second season but it went largely unnoticed. LVG seems like the kind of guy who is never even open to changing his opinion and had it out for a couple players.
