Why don't Man Utd just release him from his contract if all the fans want him out? Just write off the remaining 1 year transfer fee. It is only 7.5m anyway.
I don't think all United fans want him gone at all, despite him being a jerk. I think had we bought a striker or two in the summer and let him go then it would be fine but he's kind of crucial as a stop gap for another year when we have so many other urgent problems in the squad.

Happy for him to stay another year if he knuckles down. He's barely fit for 20 minutes at the moment yet still created our best chance from open play at the weekend (flagged for offside but i don't think it was had Rashford scored).

As I have said before the problem with him is that he has high expectations and a winners mentality which the majority of our squad struggles to adhere to.
You can't get by purely on "winning mentality" forever, the body catches up with the mind and you can have all the focus in the world but if you don't have the skills to match anymore, it's no good. There's no shame in declining and ageing in your late 30s. If winners mentality was all that mattered, Sergio Ramos would still be the best defender in the world, Dani Alves would be the best right back, and we should be after Iniesta instead of Frenkie De Jong to solve our midfield problems.

Because that's extremely weak.

There's either a market for him, or there isn't. If there is, I think they'll pay a nominal fee for a player under contract. If there isn't he has to knuckle down and accept that anyway.

It's not like United holding him hostage.
He wants to leave and he wants United to release his contract. Why would any club do that?
Either he finds a buyer or buy out contract himself.

Doesn’t exists gentleman agreement in football

He should have put a clause in his contract simply + it was evident since oct 2021

You can see this one going through on a deadline day deal if we manage to get another centre forward in.

Unfortunately for us the fecking Glazer’s are more concerned about the commercial side of Ronaldo being at the club over the damage to the footballing side and too stupid to realise that without success on the pitch the commercial side soon becomes dead, there’s a reason we struggle with sponsors now.

Exactly, all sponsor driven. They Glazers are probably getting shit for him missing preseason and jeoprodising this seasons merch

Damage on the footballing side? He’s miles better than any of the options we can field upfront currently.

If you're signing for a club, not having a contract with them beforehand, and you sign with some kind of gentleman's agreement, and that agreement is not in the actual contract, that's a failing on Mendes and Ronaldo for not ensuring it's contractual that if United do not qualify for the Champions League that Ronaldo is allowed to leave on a free to another Champions League club, or something to that effect. Nobody sets up a gentleman's agreement about these kind of things when you have no existing contract.

That means jack all. Dalot is also the best option at right back. Rashford is our best left winger. McTominay has no established competition in centre mid so is our only real option. We're supposed to be evolving the squad in ten Hag's image and none of these players (Ronaldo included) are adequate.

Who do people think the unamed club could be?
I don’t think there is one, hence why it remains unnamed. But once Ronaldo is a totally free agent and no transfer fee to be paid, there’ll be a couple (Atletico, maybe Chelsea etc)…

We’ve got 3 weeks left of the transfer window so let’s feck Ronaldo off to anyone stupid enough to pay a fee and get his £500K a week off the wage bill, replace him with a versatile forward who can play wide and central or get a pure 9 (David, Isak, Silva) and a right sided attacker (Doku, Goncalves, Cherki)

Let’s also feck the De Jong deal off and save the £90 million earmarked for it (£55 million, £18 million add ons and £17 million deferred wages) and use it on one of Bennacer, Nunes or Arthur and get a high intensity, high stamina press machine to play alongside one of them then use Zidane and Garner alongside Fred as back up.

The Glazers will never want to let a commercial assets as big as Ronaldo leave…no matter how he performs on the pitch.

Just name the price already. £70m. Now eat shit, Mendes you clown.

Or £7m. There still won’t be any takers.

So was RVN when he was here but towards the end it was at the detriment of the rest of the team, would you rather have a functioning and balanced team or one 37 year old great goal scorer who adds nothing else and the team built around him ?

I’d much rather a fluid functional front three with hungry young players who want to play for us and have potential to become great with Fernandes also involved than a 37 year old diva who throws his toys out the pram every time things aren’t all about him and doesn’t want to play for the club and has a negative impact on the squad morale.

Difference is, United had a much more promising side back then compared to the one they have now. They also had 2 generational talents in Rooney and in particular Ronaldo to take over the reigns. The current squad is nowhere near the one of 06/07 - so the comparison ends at RVN leaving.

These bunch of players looked worse on Sunday with Ronaldo off the pitch than on it

Already thought it would be the Glazers behind this debacle. Yanks only know Ronaldo and Pele, to them having him would feel like a blessing from the gods. Probably brag to their country club mates about having Brady and Ronaldo at their 'saccar' football club.

Martial injured as always so no, Ronaldo cant leave. I do feel sympathy. This could have been avoided if buisiness was done earlier enabling Ronaldo to leave. Now we are stuck with a grumpy Ronaldo for a whole year where both parties are suffering. Glazers are truly something special.

Im not a type to beg for likes but since Im one like away for enabling 5 posts per day instead of 3 I will ask away.
What are these rules? Can you not tell by now Im not a troll or bot? Set me free!
Its a serious concern since I never see any likes... just look around admins. Now that Im paying closer attention... how do you even like a post? What is this user interface?

I believe Ronaldo failed to communicate his wish to leave before or right after the season ended, he dropped a bomb to on late June or Early July which was a caught the club by surprise and weren't ready for it as they thought he would stay.

About likes I have more than 100, posts still not a single like. Hang in there.

Why would there be a feature for you to like posts - whether its your posts or others' posts? Its only meant for admin/staff.

Jesus, Im more F-ed than I thought. No wonder I dont see any likes around.
In order to remove this newbie status I will have to stalk staff members, see which players they like and stick my tongue right up there.

Doubt it. Makes more sense to play in Saudi if he is going to take a step down.
Or there isn’t one in the first place. Mendes knew United will not name a price so there will never be a need to name that unnamed club and hence made that statement to save some faces
