I prefer to read up on things and listen to knowledgeable posters like @Adnan in terms of where we are up to though.

You clearly don’t have a clue. Sorry.
Yeah I've read the same reports too, makes me just as "knowledgeable", funny how people can interpret the same information differently.

Luckily I couldn't give a feck if you don't think I have clue. :)

Like @TheReligion , I have read @Adnan ’s posts. You clearly haven’t read reports or the same reports for that matter because their highly detailed posts on Murtough and the recruitment team, go far beyond what I know.

Reading their posts, makes me believe that they are the right men for the job. It really winds me up when posters point towards DoF’s such as Edwards and Tixi from City. Because they had FAR less experience than Murtough does & have done really well considering.

Arnold/Murtough are the right men for the job, I implore you to go and read Adnan’s posts on why Murtough/Fletcher are good enough.

Ps: It’s not reports either and the poster is clearly knowledgeable and have done their own research, so quite frankly Religion is right.

We really need to sign someone useful soon, for the caf sake. The place is becoming toxic. Won't someone think of the muppets. Posters turning on each other, next peeps will refuse to enter the prediction league, or god forbid fridge will infest the utd twitter thread

Looking at the absolute garbage we are being linked to I hope we don't sign anybody else this window, the likes of Rabiot, Savic, Gakpo and the Stuttgart Striker will be more crap deadwood we'll need to shift as well as the clingers like Maguire, Rashford and Bruno who have been made far too important by the club, we don't need to dig an even bigger hole than we're already in, none of the players we are being linked to will change our top 4 chances, just more money down the drain.

It really is shocking to see the quality of players being linked. Rabiot, Gapko and the beta Peter Crouch are Everton level players at best. Its been some downfall.

That Brighton result sure did speed up the transfers. You have to hand it to the club, they saw there was a problem and they have stepped it up and backed the manager to ensure he isn't dead before he even gets started... oh wait

The state of the club is horrendous, no clue just desperately running around picking up the garbage scraps from bigger clubs, not stopping to even think that all they're doing is wasting money on more junk that won't lift us any higher than the mediocre bunch of wasters we already have.

Who do want them to go for? Who would have been your top 4 targets this summer?

De Jong, Bissouma, De Ligt and Eriksen, we need a RB but the market is bare, hopefully there's a gem hidden somewhere. I don't want them to go for anybody now, it's too late, we've missed good options like Bruno Guimeras, Fabian Ruiz and Bissouma while spending months on a player who has never wanted to come here. At this point we're just scraping turds off the sidewalk and calling it food, which will only land us with more unsellable deadwood.

De Jong was absolutely the right target, but the situation got daft and we just look desperate if we don't get him after 3 months of waiting for him. Dont understand why we haven't pursued Barella from Inter. Fine midfielder and suspect for the FDJ money, you would give Inter something to think about, they need to offload someone financially themselves, without obviously the deferred wage shit.

I've read what @Adnan posts, and he's just taking information he's read and formed opinions based on that which is fair enough, but his posts are just like everyone's else's on here "I believe", "I think" etc - which means he's sharing his opinions (he can correct me if I'm wrong and he's in fact Murtough himself).

But I also don't always believe what I read in papers (who would having been subject to the last 10 years of pr spin by United? Of which Murtough has been a psrt of) I believe what I see, and so far Murtough had been in charge for long enough to have hired head scouts that's all I'm saying.

He may have been great for the women's team and youth teams, which judging by the talent in our youth he's been a success there, doesn't mean it will translate to first team and so far, he's leaving a lot to be desired.

You think that would stop us  ?

Rather him than Arnautovic obviously, and he could be a decent plan B from the bench, but I'm not exactly enthusiastic about it
Yeah he's so average on the ball it hurts. Big of course but real lanky. I'm not his biggest fan.

Monaco, without Champions League, could not go further in this file [i.e. Bailly]. On the contrary, Marseille, still looking for a central defender
Key points:

More info:
  • Manchester United prefer a permanent transfer.
    • Marseille want a loan with a purchase option.
  • Bailly himself is more open to joining Marseille after initially being keen on joining AC Milan.

So many posts stating we need to buy top tier players. Only problem they no longer want to come to United. Not because we are not in the CL but most likely because they do not believe we will be for the years to come.

We can no longer compete with Chelsea, Spurs, City or Liverpool for players (or any of the top 2 clubs in France, Italy, Spain, Germany).

We now need to look at the same players as mid table teams in the PL and hope to get lucky.

And not really seeing any good suggestions to who these players could be and I cannot think of any either who has the potential and would actually come to United these days.

Seen many posts stating we have a change of top 4 if we just get a couple of good players in. From my point of view our best possible finish this year will be 6th if we get a couple of good players in and have a bit of luck. Most likely we will end up around 8-10 this year unless things go really wrong.

And unfortunately our young talented players will most likely need another couple of years before being ready.

Still have a long way to go if we want to get into top 4.

Also what most people don’t realise is that when Klopp was rebuilding Liverpool we had a complete mess at United, Arsenal & Spurs in terms of recruitment & management. On the other hand right now all the other clubs are doing well which makes it even harder for us to get any good players

Surely we sign one now because AWB is definitely not in Erik's first choice XI and Dalot can be a liability
I know a couple of posters in here who really hated the suggestion, but I still think Timber was considered as an option for RB. Look how narrow Dalot has played recently. Same with Malacia on the left.

EtH has said he wanted to improve the left side of our defence, so I think he likely wanted Timber and Martinez. He also appears to rate Maguire

God knows why we are loaning out Laird. He's good enough to compete with Dalot for a starting place.
I’m guessing because we have a much higher paid and costly asset we can’t shift in AWB.

The club will demand we get some value out of him no doubt. Even if he’s rather rubbish.

I don't think we'll be getting a RB, I think the CBs will fill in if both Dalot and AWB are injured and we'll make do with those two for now. Mostly because RW, ST and CM are more pressing concerns.

What a lame comment.

I have supported United for approx. 40 years now and will keep supporting them no matter what.

But that does not mean I close my eyes for what is happening.

This is where we are at now. We just have to realize it to improve.
