What do you mean?

By all accounts I thought they got it spot on by putting the blame on the organisers, highlighting the reasons it should never have gone ahead, and the sorry state of how women were treated back then.
It should have been a criminal investigation docu against those promoters. 4 rapes! That's batshit. And you have talking heads going on about whooaaaa maaaan Korn rocked and giggles and Fatboy Slim trying to be an I'm-above-this twat.

If there have been 4 rapes in a festival you start with that, not insert it as a footnote near the end.

A footnote? Hardly.

Though they didn't mention the people who died at it which was very strange.

Didnt mention a gang rape either which seems a strange omission. Youd have to question the 4 cases too. That seems low compared to its reputation. Maybe its convictions or reports or something?

It did mention the gang rapes in the mosh pits, no?

Have to remember that it was four known rapes, there were probably a lot more, and there were a lot of reported sexual assaults too by women there. It's even more chilling when you consider that there seemed to be no age limit and there were 13 and 14 year olds in there.

But yeah, maybe the doc didn't go far enough, though I do think it did a reasonable job of showing how poorly women were treated and respected by the frat boy crowd in there.

$12 for a fecking bottle of water on the last day, in the scorching heat. Add poor hygiene to that and all the waste issues and you have a recipe for disaster even without taking into account all the other shortcomings.

That Michael Lang guy really looked like a smug cnut throughout and John Scher kept downplaying every fecking incident, crazy.

I think one of the talking heads mentioned it once in passing but dont know whats fact and fiction in that regard. I guess it's more an overview focused on organisers primarily than a definitive history of the event.

I’m wondering if the organisers involvement was somewhat dependant on playing down the events. I can only find one death and that was seemingly well after the event and possibly due to drugs and obesity (according to Wikipedia) so likelihood is they would have sued Netflix for linking that!

There’s something so awfully late 90’s/early 2000 about Limp Bizkit that it makes it interesting. Almost like finding a time capsule full of Roman mosaics but it’s pictures of dog shit.

Also fred durst is million times cooler than eminem.
I'm not a fan of Eminem, but he is a very skilled rapper. Fred Durst is talentless (musically speaking). And I liked Limp Bizkit when I was 8y old and among their target audience.

Eminem is by far the better artist but he is like nearly 50 years old rapping about how the younger generation don't respect him and doing acapellas about why Donald Trump is bad. Where as Fred Durst is putting on fake wigs and looking like a character from Boogie Nights.

Also 8 Mile is good but it's no Mission Impossible 2.

Binged this in one sitting last night. I found it very enlightening as I was too young to recall it at the time but I simply couldn’t escape the feeling among the commentators almost throughout the documentary that those poor ‘kids’ had no other choice other than riot, vandalise, thieve and rape.

Astounding lack of accountability on that front.
