Are people seriously still in here shitting on the idea of us signing this guy after seeing what our midfield is like the last 2 games?

Some of ye can't seem to accept where we're at right now, we need to make signings like this because no one really world class is going to join us while we're in this state. This is just the way it is at the moment.

I personally think he'll do great for us.

Think Garner needs to put in a transfer request, if he can't get in ahead of Mcfred, Eriksen who isn't a CM, same with the enigma that is Donny, add Raviot to that list he's just wasting a year if he stays and it will go sour just like it did with Henderson.

Would not surprise me if we get him and it's still rubbish. We need serious quality, it's a shame people are on board with him because he is 'better' then McT, fecking low arse standards right there.

Might as well look in the championship if we are happy to get someone better than McT

Yes we need indeed, but also how many years we should exploit Matić who's legs are so gone. ETH pounding on the door from June to get him Frenkie and he's still eager to convinve him to join.

How relaxed our board was in June is another thing, including Arnold brainwashing fanbase while sippin on the pint...

Personally think panic buying to bring in another player renowned for inconsistency isn’t going to help us.

Spending money for spending moneys sake isn’t going to help us, that’s how we have wasted a billion quid to get the dysfunctional squad we have.

I'll give up, you are apparently unwilling or unable to see any other sequence of events than the ones in your mind. As has been repeatedly said, if we sign Rabiot on a stupid contract, it will be a mistake. But up to this point, we DO NOT KNOW what Rabiot is claiming or/and what the club is offering. If you want to cry, before you know there is even a reason a cry, go tigers. I'd probably save the energy for other things.
I'm not crying, I'm just being realistic, did you see today's performance? No signing can fix that, the work required is in training and on the mentality, then you buy to try and improve. You keep mentioning length of contract, Rabiot will get at least 3 years and a minimum 120k a week, he's a nothing midfielder who isn't worth that and with that we won't be able to shift him next summer. The only way we should bring him in is if it's a loan so we aren't stuck with him.

Exactly, adding more crap to tye crap heap isn't a plan, especially one who brings the circus of his mother with him.

Mate, nobody is advocating to bring in more crap. If you think, Rabiot is crap, that is fine, but this isn't the universal stance on him. I've seen the performance today and yes, you are right, one midfielder isn't going to change that by himself. But there is no reason to waste an opportunity to improve the situation right now. Of course we have to try to reduce the risk of creating new deadwood, but that can be done by negotiating. Doesn't feel very reasonoble as you are seemingly fine to let the whole house burn to the ground only because you don't like the look of a potential new door.

This feckers going to be announced as a signing tomorrow but fact is he's not the CDM we needed.

And if he's the only midfielder we're signing then we still need a striker and winger. Possibly a good RB and GK.

3 weeks for Glazers to locate their wallet.

Rabiot is a good player. I can understand doubts about an Arnautovic (who isn’t racist :D), but
Rabiot really is a very good player and much better than the shower of shit called McFred.

Maybe when he gets here he'll see what a truly worthless no effort side is really like and a switch will turn on and he will end up being one the hardest working players to help turn things around.

Honestly, this is not a signing people should be moaning about.

De Jong in addition to him is what we want of course but we still need a midfielder, we still need need someone who is better on the ball than what we have and we also desperately need physicality. Rabiot may not be the most amazing player in the world but he brings all of that to the table.

Just been reading through the Juventus fan forum to see what they think of Rabiot. They were taking the piss for months about how useless he was. Overpaid and moody was the overall gist of it.

We're now THE banter club. Taking over from Arsenal. This could still get worse before it gets better.

BiniBene offloaded Bentancur, Kulu and Rabiot for 80m?

Amazing shit
Thought this was an interesting post. I think Bentancur and Kulusevski have been pretty good signings so far for Spurs. Hopefully Juventus are just a dumpster fire club like us and Ten Hag can get something out of the guy.

Rabiot is more talented than McFred but he'd just be another toxic personality.

To be fair, the same was said about Kulusevski by Juve fans last year and he's been a revelation for Spurs. Their club, like ours, is pretty toxic and their fans are deluded.

Odds on it doesn't go well as Kulusevski for us though.

Our recruitment record is worse than abysmal.

For God's sake don't give him such a huge contract that if he fails he becomes impossible to shift.

Seeing they (Juve) are probably getting rid of Arthur Melo as well. Isn't he a better option for us rather than Rabiot? Not that it matters, since this deal is done next week. Just a thought.

I did think that! Saw that both were likely to move, isn't Arthur a better player and far less hard work?

He's been phoning it in since he left Barca. Spends most of his time in nightclubs getting hammered

I'd save the money and play Garner...rather we use the money pay FDJs wages for him

Genuinely think we should appoint a sporting director (a world class one) before we waste any more money.

Go and poach one from a top club and pay them more money. That's what City did before they did anything.

That is less than i would have guessed. I was thinking he was looking for 220k a week or thereabouts.
Still too much. Looking forward to us struggling to be rid of him in a couple of year's time.

Compared to others, that is not too excessive, but perhaps the management is trying to reduce the whole squad's average wages based on that info.

Who am I kidding?
