I completely agree with some fans who think that the club should be ruthless in general.

But it gets a bit amusing though when some of those fans start complaining about how the players don't care about the club and want to leave because the club is in a dire situation etc.
Players care for money and trophies. Give them those two and they will care to play for you. Do they need to love the club? Who the feck cares? I will rather have a merc in midfield who actually knows how to play football than Mctominay who is "red through and through".

Is sentimentality a thing with English clubs or just Manchester United because it is quite strong with this club/ We hold on to every last reminder of what we once were no matter how useless that strategy is. Madrid moves on the next day after winning a trophy. We hate the use/discard approach but Pep has used it to so much success at City and look at them. Fresh and firing season in season out. I think members of the board at United think the ways fans think too. Holding on to every bit of nostalgia they can. We still play the likes of De Gea and keep the likes of Jones on our books just as reminders of our last title win.

we are not driven by success like City/Madrid, and the players have no fear of authority. It all comes from the top of the club

Dunno I think the legacy of fergie and the 92 generation has meant that we are more resistant to change than real Madrid and bayern. City are well run but they have infinite money as well. Of course we have spent tons of money we just keep being shit anyway.

Damage is done. Its obvious he is poison in the dressing room. Utd should have been stronger here and terminated his contract weeks ago

They have to let him go. Can’t make him be part of this shit in the last year or two of his career

A perfect example of us fecking up this summer. It was a tap in, there for us to just get rid of him early and move on with a rebuild. Send a message. Instead... Here we are.

Hopefully doing it late is better than not doing it at all, but i have no idea at this point. The importance of sending a strong message early is huge. Timing is huge. And we've completely fecked the timing for everything at this point. Useless cnuts.

Now seeing reports that the Glazers personally intervened in the Ronaldo thing to block his exit. Of fecking course. Why do these idiots keep getting involved in shit they know nothing about??

I honestly can’t wait for the Ronaldo circus to finally leave town. He’s done nothing but cause a major distraction, one ETH could have done without given the size of the job in the first place. Just go and take all your fanboys with you.

The Glazers only care about revenue and sponsorship. That's why they want to keep Ronaldo at all costs and why we had to put up with Pogba for so long.
They're parasites.

Whilst we should have gotten rid of him a few weeks ago when the news broke, it's still not too late. Should never ever have brought him back in the first place.....nice one Fergie.

However I don't think you can cancel contracts if a player has an attitude issue, see Martial, Winston Bogarte and many others for example. Unless of course it's a mutual cancellation, then it's not exactly a threat.

Would be funny if it was mutually cancelled and he was without a club until January when some chinese club offer him a contract.

No want wants him though so maybe he wouldn’t welcome a termination…
The idea that he wouldn't find a club is ludicrous of course. In the end he'd lower his wage demands and probably end up at Sporting. They were apparently interested in a loan, so they'd take him on a free. He cares more about his Champions League goals record than money or anything else.

Bit harsh on Bogarte to be fair. By all accounts, he was a model professional who fulfilled all his contractual obligations to the letter: showed up for training every day, put in the work, and made himself available for selection.

Not his fault the club didn't want him and nobody else was willing to pay the same wages.
