While it takes seven to eight minutes to complete the ‘Namaz’, these men in a hurry completed it in less than a minute—in fact in 18 seconds flat. Activist and social worker Tahira Hasan, who had flagged concerns of a conspiracy right at the beginning, says that the men were clearly ignorant that Namaz is always offered while facing the Kaaba, which is roughly the west direction in north India. While all of them face the West, one of them has his face to a different direction.

Congress' 'black protest' against price rise: Amit Shah links it with 'appeasement' politics, Ram temple

Everybody saw protests from Congress leaders of late in regular clothes but they especially chose black clothes for Friday agitation as Modi peacefully resolved an over 550-year dispute which was associated with the faith of crores of people, he told...
Admission that the supreme court gave the Babri judgment as per rss instructions? :wenger:

Bizarre to link price rise protests to Ram Mandir, but get used to this folks.. this is going to get milked to the max.

Bhakts successfully boycotted the new Aamir Khan movie to the ground. Expecting the same to happened to all Muslim starred movies in the future.

About fecking time. Forget the future, the past stars too: Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh will be pariahs in the very homes, towns, cities that had/have their posters plastered all over.

This should result in the mental gymnastics leading to aneursyms.

You are falling for a false narrative. No Indian movie's success can be driven by twitter campaigns given how few Indians out of the whole population are on there. Same campaign was run before Dangal also and even during PK, people try to get it cancelled. But both were super-hits. LSC did not flop due to this boycott stuff and letting RW trolls take credit for it is only going to empower them and this narrative.

Don't fall into the bhakt propaganda. LSC didn't do well, because it is average movie. And the entire movie looked way over the top, including AK's acting in several scenes.
And it was always going to flop among the urban crowd who had seen Forrest Gump.

Didn't Kangana Ranaut's film flop horribly?
If they could do this to Aamir, you'd think they would be able to support their own.

Same with Akshay Kumar. Raksha Bandhan is a big flop. Samrat Prithviraj also. Theatres cancelled shows because of no one turning up.

Anyways, people nowadays have less spare money and ticket prices are up too. Going to movies with a family is no longer affordable to many sections of the society. So you would need something really good, to make people fork out their money. Else they will be using that to pay increased GST on daily stuff at home.

Yes that movie was like an all time flop, it could not even recover costs with OTT sale like LSC has. Ultimately LSC seems like a mega budget movie made for multiplex audience so it was always going to have a ceiling in terms of box office. Even non Bakht critics called out how its trailer had nothing that would attract the masses that throng the single cinemas in Tier 2 below cities. Aamir Khan got carried away with his obsession on replicating FG for Indian audiences.

I believe the pandemic has changed people's attitude towards cinema in a big big way. I have not seen a single movie outside my home since then.

I watched and it was actually not that bad. Its actually better than 90% of the shit mainstream Bollywood produces.
Bhool Bhulaiya 2 is making more than money than it and I walked out of that one after the interval.
I doubt the quality of the movie had anything to do with its box office collections peope watch any old shit

Maybe you're right. Attitudes towards going to the theatre have definitely changed with OTT coming in

I think you answered the Q yourself. Movies that have been hits: Bhool Bhuliya 2, RRR, Pushpa, KGF, Sooryavanshi. Certain kind of "masala" movies are doing well so much so that likes of Johar are crying about Hollywood-fication of Bollywood and South actually stealing 80s/90s Bollywood formula. LSC is not this kind of masala movie.

Unless it's a massy movie people won't pay their hard earned money. Never thought I would say this a decade back but off late I have enjoyed south movies more than Bollywood. Hey again not like I have followed a lot of movies in last 3 - 4 years but the level of bwood have gone down.

Why would anyone waste their time to watch a scene to scene copy of a classic like FG. Boycott has just been used as an excuse for a poorly made movie and comedy acting by Aamir

Yeah you're right. South has been doing some good stuff. They stayed true to their roots I guess while Bollywood tries to ape Hollywood every chance they get.

South cinema, especially mallu cinemas has some very good movies out but all that is plastered on media is certified shit like KGF. It's just an example of above average movie running away with it due to circumstances and timing of the release
